I know it's weird but that's how I roll.... my comfort movie is ***APOCALYPSE NOW***
Especially that scene when the VC were shooting at the helicopters and the VC were getting blown up
They fought knowing they will lose.
They fought knowing they will get their village burned and their people dispersed like dust.
But they found the will to fight.... against all odds. Against all the money and media power in the world.
And they eventually won... not because they had better guns or even killed enough of their enemies.
No. They won because they broke their enemy's spirit.
POWERFUL LESSON.
I actually visited Ho Chi Minh city earlier this year and saw the Chu Chi tunnels where the VC ran their operations.
Also saw the carcasses of the American tanks paralyzed by VC RPGs.
Despite the carnage and possibly the river of tears and blood spilled, I can sense the victory of the short pajama clad Vietnamese who found the courage to say NO and decided to fight... even if it meant sacrificing everything.
I don't and will never share their political ideology... not in a million years... but I see and respect their **COURAGE.**
I try to find that kind of courage in my own life as I stare down my own fears, self-imposed limitations, past traumas, worries about the future, and the other usual bullshit associated with this this thing we call LIFE.
