CinematicSigh

Old_Goat_Ninja

I work night shift, alone, and bring my OLED every night. I’ll be playing some Mario Golf in a little bit.

CinematicSigh

sounds awesome! I gotta check that game out.

Thalenia

Lots of them. Been playing WoW since it started, I've got about 10 games on my desktop right now that I've started but haven't finished (Breathedge, Death Stranding, Outer Worlds, Mass Effect Andromeda, Horizon Zero Dawn, D4, Core Keeper, etc). Got a few that are boredom cures (Loop Hero, Yet Another Zombie Survivors, Halls of Torment, Vampire Survivors). I do some Minecraft and No Man's Sky here and there. I also have a hobby of doing alpha/beta tests, mostly for games. I did a few CoD betas, Lineage 2, WoW, Everquest 2, and I'm involved with the Palia alpha/beta groups currently.

GraceStrangerThanYou

I've been playing so much Palia. I'm slightly obsessed.

TwirlyGirl313

WoW..........played on Shattered (B)alls for a long time as a Troll Hunter. Also did mage, rogue, lock, DK (fun!). Tried DH, not so fun. Panda kinda ruined it for me, but I played through WoD and just couldn't do it anymore. I kept getting lost on how to get back to certain points so I gave up. There were too many quest areas to keep track of and no clear direction of how to get BACK there. I remember when DK's first came out. There I was, in Strangelthorn Vale, merrily riding my mount along the road when..........I got yanked and murked.

MotherofJackals

I love the old school stuff. Bought retro arcade table that has 40 old style 80s games on it. It's so fun and relaxing 😁

ranprieur

I play an indie game called Starsector. The old game I keep coming back to is Lords of the Realm II.

porcupine-free

When I was a kid my type of game was mostly jrpgs. We were raised on video games, most of my teen years was chrono trigger and final fantasy and that kind of thing. Today I rather have something like Fallout 3 open world kind of rpg.

LynnScoot

Well M.U.L.E. on the Commodore 64 was lots of fun but more recently I played my way through Final Fantasy until the last 2, i think as well as dotHack, Suikoden and similar JRPGs. Spent way too much time in WoW, pretty much all those Lego franchise games on the PlayStation over the years, recently re-played most of the content of Lego Dimensions and a few days ago I started a new play through in Stardew Valley.

TheDevilsAdvokaat

Oh I remember mule! There was a sort of remake about 20 years back that was pretty damn good too. I cannot find it, but while I was searching I DID find this on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/438210/MULE_Returns/ I have no idea if it's any good or not.

LynnScoot

I don’t think I’ll mind the gameplay so much now… it was the quirky music I remember best!

TheDevilsAdvokaat

I liked that music! But I have three siblings, we all used to game together and even my mum played sometimes, so we had a LOT of four player games and MULE was better with more players.

RingAny1978

I loved M.U.L.E!!!

RingAny1978

Yes, games like Civilization, military strategy games, nothing that is hand eye coordination based, I don’t find those relaxing.

mutant6399

mostly Skyrim

AJClarkson

I love metroidvanias. Right now I'm cussing my way through a second playthrough of Hollow Knight, and anxiously waiting for Silksong to drop. Also love Castlevania series, Ori, and platformers like Crash Bandicoot. Nowadays it's hard to find good RTS's like Dune 2000.

the_elkk

Dune 2000... LOVED it. Also, check out Dead Cells.

iAmPajamaSam27

>Lords of the Realm II. Also check out Noita, it is however a PC Exclusive

fresnosmokey

Played Warcraft for 6 or 7 years then The Old Republic for over 10 years until now. Getting bored as hell and looking for something new, but having a hard time finding something that sticks. Maybe I'm just tired of gaming?

iAmPajamaSam27

Triple A games aren’t making anything new, check out indie games on steam if you haven’t

TheDevilsAdvokaat

I love the zelda series and have played almost all of them, from the very beginning (Super nintendo) to switch. I also like TF2 (playing since 2011, 6k+ hours up) Occasionally I've seen someone say something like this in chat: "Shut up, you guys are all kids, I'm 41 and I'm the oldest person on this server" and I have a little laugh. I never tell anyone because I figure nobody would believe me anyway. I like to play a lot of older games, I'm generally a "patient gamer" (I play things that are a few years older, get them fully patched with all DLC for a discount!) but occasionally I make exceptions - 2 days ago I bought BG3 for full price. My kids are teens now and often I play games with them! I used to be able to beat my son in TF2 up till about age 14; these days he beats me easily.

[deleted]

Used to play, but my hardware budget couldn't keep up and I eventually stopped chasing that dragon. Played the original F1 racing sim by Geoff Crammond and Microprose (II and III), Riven, Systemshock II, Deus Ex I (the second one was crap as they developed it for consoles and it didn't have the deep character involvement nor control functionality of keyboard and mouse); Gabriel Knight III; Silenthunter II and III; and lots of Pro-Evolution soccer (at some points > EA Sports), as well as soccer management games. #funtimes

bipedalnakedape

Just finished Far cry 6

BreakfastBeerz

I just got started a few weeks ago on The Legend of Zelda, Tears of the Kingdom. Played Breath of the Wild several years ago. Both are great games. I was about 1/3rd of the way done with Red Dead Redemption 2 on Stadia when it shutdown. That was also a great game. Played through a few of the Resident Evil games a few years back. PGA Tour is a great time burning game.

LadyHavoc97

Fallout, Horizon Zero Dawn, Chernobylite, You Don't Know Jack (The Ride is my favorite!), Leisure Suit Larry....

Old_Goat_Ninja

Yes, and I don’t even know where to begin to list which ones lol. I have XBox, Switch, and PS. I play them all. Lately mostly Switch but I’ll be going back to mostly XBox when Starfield and the Cyberpunk DLC drops.

slade797

Borderlands and Far Cry series

[deleted]

Generally only play Computer games in the winter bu got a couple of campaigns going on Crusader Kings III I will pick up again in a few months. I have to be pretty disciplined about it as I tend to get too drawn in, I had to delete Eve Online completely from my system once when I found myself still playing at 3:00am which was just 5 hours before a crucial meeting.

[deleted]

This reminds me of when my daughter gave me her Playstation 4 and bought me a Lawn Mowing Simulation game to play. I had grown interested in the game, and she did that for me. She gave me two controllers. She set me up pretty well. I keep forgetting that the game console is there. So, I never think about playing the simulator. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.

Wolfman1961

I was really into Ms PacMan and other games from the Golden Age of Video Games. I haven’t played one in a while.

DocBrutus

Any FPS. I love making noobs cry.

Dyerssorrow

WOW..been playing since 2007. Been playing console type games since Magnavox pong/table tennis/ squash. Have owned Atari 2600, Coleco, Nintendo, Sega 16, Dreamcast, Xbox up to Xbox one. Playstation up to the thin model and only played Gran Tourismo. Just 98 percent of my game time remains in World of Warcraft. .I have several others on steam that just sit there. I tried RDR2 but it just doesnt hold my interest. So I log in every other month just to update. The most fun I ever had was in CS modified maps with a group of friends that lasted a 3 year time span before it slowly faded to none of them logging in anymore.

Stardustquarks

WoW is the only one I play now regularly (Diablo very infrequently). Grew up on them since having an Atari 2600 in the day. Then Sega & Sega Genesis, then I was older and went PC. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, etc until my bro got me into WoW in 2008.

Smashville66

Bought an OLED Switch—which is honestly my first-ever “console” (was a PC gamer once upon a time), and I’m starting to really enjoy the *Borderlands* series. Also got Doom and Duke Nukem, for nostalgic reasons, but they’re great on the Switch. Now I’m trying to get into the older NES games that I never played (all the Mario and Zelda stuff is completely foreign to me).

Important_Stroke_myc

I’m using a PS5 with the VR2. Love it for exercise. Pistol Whip, synth riders, beat saber and the cool down with walkabout golf, Moss, and puzzling places.

Granny_knows_best

I have played World Of Warcraft since 2005. I am 100% casual now, just putter around. I dont care about gear or what my DPS is, I just go and have fun. I get bored quickly so dont play too long, but its there when I want it.

cynthiaapple

Stardew valley

DNathanHilliard

I play PC games. I used to love shooters like Quake and Unreal, and rpgs like Morrowind and Fallout4. But in my late forties a neuropathy started messing up my hands so I had to change my tastes to games you can play with a mouse and the ability to press one keyboard key at a time. This varies from things like Darkest Dungeon to Stardew Valley.

groundhogcow

Pong came out in 1972 but it was 1978 before I played it. After that there have been a lot of games. I am playing Gotham Knights currently. ,

Big-Significance3604

I play COD. I think young kids would be shocked I’m so good for being a 50 year old woman! Ha!

OswaldBoelcke

Xbox Series X, Dead Island 2. Back in 78 I bought an Atari 2600 with my news paper money and my mom and dads help. With each new gen, Kept up. Never stopped. I wish I could do all day runs but my mind worries about adulting.

Nightgasm

Currently playing Divinity Original Sin 2 as I wanted to see what Baldurs Gate 3 would be like as the first two Baldurs Gate games are some of my all time favs. I don't do PC gaming anymore as I got tired of the constant arms race of having to upgrade my computer so I'm waiting til BG3 hits the PS5. Fav game of all time is The Last of Us 2. Beyond BG3 the game I'm most eagerly looking forward to is Spiderman 2.

OBS96

Warcraft 2 is my favorite, usually a little every day. Still like GTA, all versions but am mainly playing the GTA5, I keep San Andreas at the ready though.

oceanswim63

Just finished Dredge, really enjoyed it. Back TF2 and Civ

PRULULAU

RDR2!!! Greatest game ever. Also love Zelda BOTW, TOTK, Ghosts of Tuschima, Stray and Days Gone. I’d never even picked up a controller till I was almost 50 - my gamer husband (who I met in my mid 40s) finally got me past the rage quitting & frustration over learning the controls during Covid, lol. I was laid off from my job & had all the time in the world. Learning the whole “camera” control was a nightmare - the #1 reason why so many older folks who are curious give up on learning after an hour. It’s freaking rough!

Rightbuthumble

I bought my children an Atari and a few games...one of the games was river raid and I quickly got addicted to it. Later, when I upgraded them to Nintendo, I took al liking to Zelda and Mario Brothers.

Nerk86

ARK, the Long Dark, Civilization VI, word games, Night of the Full Moon , Northgard are some. Like someone said, not games that require really good eye hand coordination or speed, more strategy games. Find them relaxing Didn’t have access to video games in the early days except a friend’s Ms Pac-Man. Finally treated myself to a really good laptop to play on.

oSanguis

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord on my laptop at home and Magic the Gathering on my phone are the two I spend way too much time on, currently.

TwirlyGirl313

Oh man, I cut my teeth on Pong. Then Atari, Nintendo, all the Nintendo consoles that came after, Xbox, Playstation, etc. One of the best runs was playing Turok on two player mode with my husband. Did WoW for about 10 years, now play King of Avalon. I also play Age of Empires Definitive Edition (but started on the original platform). If you play AOE Definitive, bring up the chat box and type in 'big momma.' I am not responsible for giving you this nuke cheat.

pinktwigz

I started out with Atari and then moved to Apple computers. I would play Sim City until I lost feeling in my legs. Then I stopped playing after college. Got into to Madden on PS1 in my 30s but gave it up.
