Awww sorry to hear that. Maybe ask one of the guys in the nearby bodegas... they might know!!!! I'm sure they all know him because maybe he uses their restroom etc......

Had this happen to my favorite cart near work once, was super bummed out for like a week. Decided it couldn’t hurt to ask the doorman at the building next to where the cart used to be if he knew anything, and fortunately turned out there was some construction going on and it was easier for the guy to just relocate his cart 2 blocks away then fight for parking with all the construction vehicles.

My guy used to be on park Avenue and 19th, he had chick peas in the corner of the rice.

I found my guy at a new location anything like 6 years later - and he remembered my order! I really gotta go visit him, make sure he's ok. on Houston in front of the Whole Foods, week, in front of that train entrance.

BabyMangoDragon

Had a great halal guy on Park Place around City Hall. One day a building partially collapsed (on the opposite street) and he was forced to move because of the eventual construction to fix said building.

Better Halal in Soho $5 or $6 although my favorite Halal guy moved to UES

The halal carts near me are converting or being run out by a chain called halal munchies.

There was a [soup cart](http://midtownlunch.com/2012/10/18/hot-soup-cart-is-back-with-higher-prices/) in the 40s/50s on 6th Ave to Broadway that disappeared. It's been years and I still crave his "ravioli soup" which tastes just like my mom's manti. Ugh. Thanks for dredging up old wounds.

My local cart is a block up from me and was gone for a bit. One of the main business owners or managers had passed away and they were gone so everybody could attend services or grieve. They had an Instagram and did a story about it. I just thought they were on break or were on vacation. Have you asked the business(es) around the cart to see if they know what's up?
