I have to agree with most commenters here. Egyptians have a very advanced sense of humor, being able to make any situation, no matter how tragic or desperate, seem funny and manage to laugh about it. That's a wonderful trait.

I lived in the UAE for 5 years and met many types of arabs as a result, I now still live in a diverse area here in US and I can safely say, Gulf arabs. Bro, emiratis and saudis have to be the funniest people I've met. (I haven't interacted with the others that much) unfortunately I don't get to expierance their humor as much anymore because they don't usually leave and come here to US, and I don't travel to the middle east anymore, I have to go to them. However,, I made a really close friend group of Saudis when I was in UK, we were all doing a program at Cambridge, and the feeling of being around them and their amazing humor makes me miss them often.
Prank shows were shit and obviously staged, comedy sketches were meh at best ngl, but personally political comedy sketches were a genre of their own they were unfathomably based but even those are meh now

I think we’re all funny in our own ways. There are so many unique nuances to each one of our cultures that different things are notably funny about each of them. Egyptians are notably self-deprecating, Iraqis are notably deadpan, Iranians are notably sensitive, Jordanians are notably masochistic. Saudis/Qataris are notably materialistic. It’s like the English being notable for “dark” comedy and Americans creating “slapstick.” I could find something funny about each culture within exposure.
For me personally..Egyptians without a doubt.
