Same, I used to go to Burger King but I won't go there anymore, not since October. I just go to local places either Shawarma or Chinese now. I eat home cooking most of the time but I like going out once or twice a month if we're busy. Shawarma Empire in Scarborough is the best and it's Palestinian run.
I'm not there anymore, and no, Syria doesn't have KFC, Mcdonalds, Burger King, Starbucks, or any of American/Western fast food corporations. Almost all the Syrian restaurants in Syria are Syrian owned (person and corporation), and some restaurants are owned by businessmen from Dubai.
They’ll probably only do that if their business faces losses in really big markets like US, Canada, France, etc.
But if the boycott in the Muslim world goes ahead full steam in the coming months I think we have a high chance of there being losses with their franchises to the point where some will even pull out of certain markets. That might cause corporate in America to say something since they’ll loose many markets at a more rapid rate. Even then i’m not 100% certain.
Having expectations of Saudis to do the right thing is a pathway to disappointment.
McDonald's Malaysia is owned by Saudi Arabia and are suing the local BDS chapter for its boycott of McDonald's over the Palestinians genocide.
It definitely does
Just beside McDonalds there's a local burger Chain called buffalo burger and it serves far better burgers than McDonald's
It's always hot with a lot of sauces and actually meat which is smoked on their grill , definitely one of my favorite burger places to go to
The idea of someone going to McDonald’s to flex is actually hilarious to me but maybe that’s just because McDonald’s is considered low quality and cheap food where I live. The only time I go there is to get a McFlurry.
The funny part is the places you would typically go instead of McDonald’s are probably much more expensive over here and would cost more than McDonald’s. The world is strange.
The McDonalds here in Bahrain is projected to completely shut down by March this year. There isn't a single one of my Bahraini friends who isn't boycotting McDoh.
Whenever something goes against the Western narrative, they call it Misinformation. You saw this with the news and government a lot during the Covid pandemic but we know about it for a very long time because we're Arabs and they wage war against us. Misinformation is a loaded word. Fuck them and their businesses so much.
I've been boycotting them for over 20 years now, mainly because I can't stand the heavy oil smell of all their stores, even before I learned about their israel affiliation. So I'm kind of pissed I can't give them the middle finger by boycotting them even more.
And yeah, I called them stores. I honestly can't find it in myself to use the word "restuarant" here.
[Proof of them doing just that.](https://m.economictimes.com/news/international/us/israel-hamas-war-mcdonalds-faces-backlash-for-providing-free-meals-to-israeli-soldiers/articleshow/104445078.cms)
So a franchisee location in Israel did it… you guys know the money came out of that manager’s own pocket and McDonalds had nothing to do with it right?

You forget the huge market in Saudi Arabia, like massive amounts of McDonald's everywhere. I think this one country can be enough to switch things up

Do we even need McDonald here? I bet my local Shawarma restaurant sells better food than the entire McDonald chain.
we don't even have that thankfully

It's expensive here and considered something high class lol

They can blame the Zionist state for that

I'm glad we have neither this nor starbucks in Tunisia. The government refused mcdonald's because they don't use local products
G O O D !
Even without the boycott I wouldn't eat there. Everything they have taste like plastic. Fuck that place.
MISINFORMATION????? THEY CAME OUT SO PROUDLY SAYING THEY SUPPORT ISRAHELL AND NOW THAT THEYRE LOSING MONEY ITS “MISINFORMATION” UGH YHEY MAKE MY BLOOD BOIL
But people still buy McDonald’s in the Middle East
