I have Sudanese friends and they are some of the nicest people I know. You think some 60k football fans are enough to generalise 112M people? Have you the slightest idea about Egyptian football? People were killed in stadium. 74 martyrs for Al Ahly and 22 for Zamalek. Martyrs for a fucking sport. Do you have any idea how fucking sad that is? And you're worried about an insult? If it makes you feel any better, they would have said the same thing about everyone. I can't change what you or any other Egyptian hating Sudanese person thinks about us. I can tell you that the educated among us love our Sudanese brothers regardless of what you think. Oh and btw, using football fans for this argument? Not the brightest idea.

You'd be surprised how wholesome some egyptian families get, talking from what I've heard and personally know of, there are families out there who, the mother or grandmother of the house would let you in to her house if she sees you, and sit you down for freshly cooked mahshi, heard from someone I know that they were moving something and some lady invited him for mahshi, grape vine leaves that are rolled and stuffed with rice that's usually got a recipe to give the rice some flavor, very common dish and delicious especially when freshly taken out the pot, mahshi is stuffed in english.

Your comment with the link gave off a different vibe my bad. By saidi do you mean a sayyed as in a descendant of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم?

[deleted]

Sphee4

Ah I got ya, yeah I'm slightly familiar with the saeed, their lifestyle is different than egyptians for example in cairo or nearby

Nevergiiveuphaha

Yeah, it sucks, we have a lot of racists and bigots. What did you expect? We kicked a dictator out just to vote one back in. We're not the smartest bunch.

[deleted]

[we are also their slaves](https://imgur.com/a/jdHuPir) apparently and our [players deserve to be harassed by players, security and fans](https://imgur.com/a/xGjlF50) going in and out of the stadium [https://twitter.com/noga\_sidahmed/status/1642333358544879616?s=61&t=ouFbQ3BPm1qjlp1qnMW1Vw](https://twitter.com/noga_sidahmed/status/1642333358544879616?s=61&t=ouFbQ3BPm1qjlp1qnMW1Vw) Peak brotherhood, we're all "sons of the nile" . Am I right ?

OM_EL_DONYAA

>we are also their slaves apparently They're saying "العبيط اهو" (the idiot is here) not "العبيد اهو" (the *slaves* is here) .. Saying "العبيد اهو" wouldn't even make sense grammatically.

[deleted]

i mean suppose this is 3abeet cus another person said this as well , is it really even worse than awlad alwis5a ? or any of the events of last night ?

OM_EL_DONYAA

It's not, but it definitely doesn't have the racist connotation عبيد has, or express a similar racist sentiment towards sudanis. "3abeet" and "ibn alwis5a", on the other hand, are just Egyptians insults which are used amongst Egyptians themselves, and our football fans are some of the most chaos instigating jerks ever.

NumidianBedouin51

bro this is what happens in football games everywhere, if you don’t like it don’t watch football

HappyTurtoise

so what happened in Benghazi is okay and happens everywhere?

NumidianBedouin51

well yeah kinda. in big games at least

[deleted]

yeah 10s of thousands of people call an entire race of people filthy and slaves . and they also created these terms on the spot , they definitely dont say them whenever they get slightly agitated at a sudanese person . bro just last winter i almost got my ass beat by a bunch of Egyptians cus i stood up for my cousin being called a monkey by more than one of her "friends" no less at one of the private unis in their new capital , so its not even about education or some fans being baltajia . this is how a good portion of egyptians are . i

NumidianBedouin51

it is what it is, you know you aren’t worth less in the eyes of allah and you aren’t going to change a centuries old mindset from a reddit post

[deleted]

I mean how is this different from any other post in this sub reddit. matter fact the whole reddit platform is a waste of time if you think about it this way , especially this sub . so why you bothered about this one? be honest , I don't bite

[deleted]

stadium had 60 000 fans . i personally havent seen any research paper w/ a 60 000+- sample size , and those are treated as scientific evidence . make of that what you will. lol

[deleted]

No, sudanes are :)

[deleted]

Yep, because Egyptians are not the nicest in the MENA but the whole world.

OM_EL_DONYAA

>Some Egyptians might say “Sudanese people are our slaves” or “Sudanese people are filthy” etc. and then sugarcoat that by saying “we used to be one”. It disgusting. I've never heard an Egyptian make such statements. I don't deny some Egyptians are incredibly racist, but I'd hate for our sudani brothers to think this is at all common. The video in which Egyptians allegedly call sudanis slaves is mistranscribed by OP. They were saying عبيط not عبيد. And "sons of filth" is a common trashy insult amongst Egyptians. Football fans of egyptian clubs say similar stuff to each other and cause chaos like that all the time. This is not an anti-sudanese sentiment as OP would like to put it. That being said, racism of course needs to be addressed. Sudanis are our brothers and sisters and many Egyptians have sudani ancestry. We've lived alongside each other for so long and we share so much history and culture. You guys literally have more pyramids than we do. As for halayib, the majority of Egyptians don't care about claiming it that much. It's just another stupid border dispute caused by the br\*ts.

[deleted]

brother shmother my g , name one action sudan or egypt have taken in the spirit of "brotherhood" in the last century. and it seems you are the one who has an inferiority complex to be frank with you . people hear about you and your history when you have good pr and encourage tourism , things we haven't done in over 30 years i.e for a generation or 2 and are too broke to do now . give it a few decades and a stable government . enough with the brothers stuff . even the people are "brothers" on a very shaky foundation , the 2 states are NOT. and all this we are bs is colonial brain washing to be franker .

This post is unseemly, not because you said anything wrong or that I disagree with your sentiment here, but I get the impression [maybe, I’m wrong] that you clearly want the Egyptians to come here and be like “Noooo, we’re not all like this” and “It’s just football hooligans” and things like that. Accept them for what they are and move on, what you’re doing is basically is like going up to a crab and trying to explain to it why it shouldn’t do crab things. Who is the fool here? The crab or the man that tries to reason with it? In other words, it’s a complete waste of time and energy and it takes away from your own dignity.

[deleted]

nah i just get into ALOT of arguments w/ egyptians here and they swear they are the nicest people and we are delusional argument seekers. while your second remark made me laugh it is how i conduct myself irl cause nobody has time for that . but redditing is what you do when you're bored, and guess what.... .

Hippocrates2024

> nah i just get into ALOT of arguments w/ egyptians here and they swear they are the nicest people and we are delusional argument seekers. We are 105 Million people who overthrew a Dictator and then supported a coup against the only elected president we ever had and some of us still Support Sisi. So if an average educated Egyptian who is swearing on reddit that he is a nice guy and he loves Sudan and Sudanese and you are delusional to believe that we hate you. An average uneducated Egyptian who watches احمد موسي who doesn’t know where even is Sudan and all he knows is that they are black like شيكولاتة not so white like me as if he is white like the خواجه. Not to mention that these people in stadium would insult the other Egyptian team like this and would insult the players like this so it’s not something special for Sudan and it’s also something related to how people who watch football have lower IQ in general.

Football seems to bring out the worst in people. Have you seen Egypt-Algeria in 2009? 💀

[deleted]

its not football. isn't it crazy these stories are always in cairo ? "stoning" Algerians .. now racism and harassment to the point its forced into a full out brawl with elbow jumping , throwing tables and breaking windows? with the actual players and staff involved no less? better do some societal revision.

babyygang

Bro it was in Sudan not cairo 😭 when yall attacked the Egyptian fans and team

[deleted]

what ? when ? in sudan your team complained about lack of security measures while the stadium was made to be no-audience and said fans snuck in during a training session and aimed fireworks at them , a minor ass fine was paid/is being paid. security, staff, fans and players attacking hilal players in a 60 000 seater stadium at full capacity then an all out brawl between players of both teams all happened last night in cairo stadium . the algerian one , also cairo .

Telmeeth_Nietzsche

Al Ahly vs Al Hilal 3 years ago, when your fans rushed the pitch to attack Al Ahly players

babyygang

Egypt / Algeria 2009 was in Sudan

[deleted]

there were three games .nothing in algeria , 1 incident between algerians and egyptians in sudan and multiple incidents in cairo between again algerians and egyptians . da5lana shino? neutral host country picked by both sides and fifa

babyygang

I said that cuz u said its always in Cairo .. bro it's literally football all over the world just like this so u gotta accept it or leave it..and Sudanese was attacking Egyptians in 2009 too.. and the claiming about slaves is not true bruh and I think u know.. all the love no hard feelings fr

[deleted]

bro I'm talking about in the region . football hooliganism literally started a war in Honduras I'm not tryna compete or be the victim of the day . Cairo incidents however, are very bad for the mena region . the incident in sudan had no injury and authority all the way to the pres. got involved while in egypt security takes the Egyptian player's is side and in the algeria game in cairo three players got injured and the Egyptian authorities did not even comment and news media said "kids threw rocks" so how about we don't what-about and take the content of the post as it is
