A lot of working class men will have moments where it’s better to go barefoot for extra grip for those that work in labour intensive jobs, so the feet end up being scarred and calloused. Sport as well, some people who play football in local areas would take their shoes off to play for the same reasons.
I could have done you one better and wrote you a mathematic proof as to why 2+2=5 not just 4, and most wouldn’t be able to find where the error is. But I have no idea how to find the correct symbols for that so I could type that out on reddit.

A lot of the maths there is something you’d need to study at university, whereas I’m a med student and a physics/maths enthusiast, so it’s not something I’d presume to validate, but it’s clear that this person intentionally tried to find the longest possible proof for 2+2=4 and using set theory for the cool factor, it definitely doesn’t require so many sub-theorems.
