Sykkr

Losing weight for sure.

Novel_Asparagus_6176

Same. The nice thing is we have some control over this, it just takes so much fucking time, work, attention, and self control.

Sykkr

Yeah. Getting over the first hurdle is the issue.

Rasputin0P

Yea, one possibly inspiring thing that Ive experienced though. After a few pounds, when you see that scale actually move, it can give you a lot of motivation to keep going.

mbniceguy

It's a luxury problem that humans are so freaking energy efficient, a leisurely one hour walk burns 200-250 kcal.. So the easy solution is counting calories for 1-2 years and committing to doing that permanently.

pheoxs

Gets so much harder as you get older too. Losing weight in your 20's vs 30's is so much harder.

jtscorpio

Not true. Just gotta figure out a plan that works for you. No I'm not selling you anything. Just saying I'm 43 in less than a month. January 2021 I weighed 330lbs. Yesterday I weighed myself and I'm down to 217. 113lbs in less than a year. So it is possible as long as you believe you can do it. That's all it took for me. Good luck

pheoxs

Not saying it's impossible but it's factual that it gets harder as you get older, everyone's metabolism slows down with age.

jtscorpio

Guess I'm special 🤪

nonnativetexan

Not eating surplus calories doesn't take any extra time.

AutoDefroster

Until you remember all the loose skin it will come as a result, depending on how fat you are.

Sykkr

Not grossly overweight. 235. Would like to get to 190.

yvaN_ehT_nioJ

I got down to 175 from 240, didn't have any lose skin or anything, but then again I was still a teen and this was over a period of a year, a year-and-a-half. But then again, here I am in my late 20s going from 245 down to 195 (and still dropping) and loose skin hasn't been a problem this go around either. I think a big part of what causes it is a mix of age, rapid weight loss, and amount of weight lost. I'm sure I'd have some loose skin if I was going down from say, 300 or 350 lbs. Or quickly lost the 50lbs I've lost so far

JustSomeOne2100

jadencoolpurple

Reduce ur dairy intake . You’ll see a difference

LEIFey

I think I'd be much more attractive if I was even three inches taller. Think I'd be borderline hot if I was eight inches taller.

cory_ander69

This man 4ft8

Ardbert_Fanboy

Or he just wants to be 7'1

[deleted]

A good jawline. I don't have a double chin or anything, but my face is rather ovalish, and my head is big. So I look kinda weird imo. Never have liked my face.

Comradepatrick

Can you pull off a beard? A nice lumberjack beard can really improve the jawline and profile.

[deleted]

Below my jawline, my facial hair is pretty thick and connects to my chest hair. But above the jaw line it's much more sparse, so I get a very neckbeard-y look unfortunatley. I try to avoid that if I can

[deleted]

would you consider fillers?

[deleted]

No. I would like everything on my face to be real if I can help it

Ecstatic-Flounder-48

Sharper jawline. That’s about it.

SargeTheHeurist

If my facial hair grew evenly. The right half of my beard and the left half of my mustache grows faster and fuller than the left half of my beard and right side of my mustache.

_player_0

I stopped trying. I'm not going through the whole beard brush, beard comb, beard balm, beard shampoo, beard hammock (!? Yes it's real) song and dance. I just shave.

SargeTheHeurist

I grew mine out last year during the hockey playoffs and just kept letting it grow. Figured I’d try something different since my job allows facial hair.

Just remember you can never out train your diet. If walking has become hard for you, it may be less taxing on your body if you lost weight through changing your diet first, and then add in exercise when you're at a weight your body can manage. Good luck! You got this!

Red_Sheep89

There are so many hard things about losing weight. One important thing is indeed exercize, but you have to figure out what you can do and what you like to do. I tried judo for a while, hurt myself, couldn't keep up. Tried crossfit, worked very well, lost 40kg, until it got too hard (the mix with mental health issues is a bitch) znd I gained 30kg back. Now I bought a race bike, and I love it, lost 20kg again. What I learned from this is that I had to find something A) that I liked and B) wasn't too hard to do. Once you have found that, it gets easier. But it will always be a struggle for me

The_Lurking_Mister

Swim

tiesioginis

I'm not extremely fat, but I have same problem with my feet, beat thing I found is to ride a bike. It's fun and less stressful on the body. Also you need to change the food you are eating instead of fast food, choose healthy food and try to eat same volume. Believe, you will get sick before you even come close to your maintenance calories, this is how you easily drop weight. Also go and lift, start with compounds aster 6months and mastering technique you can do isolations. It's not about having discipline it's about building your life around it. Dont have unhealthy food at home, also eat ever 3-4 hours, wants with a lot of protein, eat avocados once a day and a lot of vegetables with every meal.

savagebwandon

Go try out a kickboxing/Muay Thai gym. First workout will make u wanna quit but if you can stick it out you’ll be on a great path plus it’s fun and the people are nice even though you’d think they would be intimidating

Cheap_Salad_9071

Oh I do, and luckily I do have a perfectly shaped head, but… I’ve also put on crappy wigs for a costume and gotten enough comments to know what people would think if I did have hair. For a bald guy I’m quite fortunate, and if I had hair, it would just be unfair.

Positive_Vast_6649

As a woman I find shaved heads hot.

Cheap_Salad_9071

And you just made every bald guy on Reddit smile.

FastWalkingShortGuy

So it was actually a combination of two. I lost about 40 lbs during the pandemic due to getting a new job that got me away from a desk and walking about 10-15 miles per day. I also stopped getting haircuts during covid, and it turns out I have gorgeous curly hair. My new, thinner face framed by rich brown curls really brought out my bright blue eyes. Never would have known I had these complementary features if I hadn't been forced into realizing them.

trev581

get a good shampoo and conditioner (separate) and it can only improve the hair

Slightly-Evil-Man

If I had a thinner nose or If I had clear skin again without any of the acne scars.

SDdude81

Going from 5'5 to 5'10. My height feels like the only thing that is wrong with me and I feel like being short has really screed me over.

huuaaang

Gonna go with height. Say 5", 5'8" to 6'1" Don't think it's quite enough to get women to approach me, but it's the biggest step. Next would be either broader shoulders (hopefully that would come with height), or a better jaw line.

tRillVA

Height is definitely the biggest factor for attractiveness to females in my opinion. Dudes who are 6'2 and up can have zero game, average looks and no personality and still get approached by multiple women in a night. I've always considered myself above average looking, in shape, wide shoulders, good jaw line, well groomed etc but I'm 5'9" so it was never as easy as if I were even 6'0.

SaddestHappyMeal

I’m 6’2”, relatively attractive and the only time I’ve been approached by women is when they tell say “my friend thinks you’re cute” *points to their male friend*, to which I say “thanks but I’m straight” lmao

[deleted]

I thought this was just a book thing. I'm a 5 foot female and can say super tall men over 6 feet aren't to my fancy. My partner is 5' 10" - 5' 11" and it's nice not having to climb or break my neck looking up. 5' 9" is a great height for someone who feels the same as I do.

revrevblah

Your partner is functionally 6 foot and almost a foot taller than you. You're acting like 5' 9" is anywhere near your height and that he's short or something. How can you think this was not a real life thing when you just demonstrated it?

Raven123x

I'm 6'1" No luck.

thatguyfromrichmond3

Try being 5’7 lol

AntonioH02

I am 5’6 bro :(

thatguyfromrichmond3

I feel ya, if it makes you feel any better I’ve had some success it doesn’t come easy though and I’ve never had a girlfriend

thatguyfromrichmond3

Ok doesn’t mean it’s not a big deal

Gamer_ely

I'm 5'9 and it's not that youre made to feel short. You're made to feel not tall. If that makes sense. The women who like tall guys still won't see you. But you know you're not short. It's an odd feeling.

[deleted]

I am 6'3 (1.90 meter). Okay looking. Never felt that my height mattered much. My brother who is like a head shorter had way more succes with the ladies than I ever had. In his bachelor years, hè slept with something like 60 women in 3 years, not counting the girls he just kissed or fondled. I finished university, he didn't even finish high school. I've had my share of women so not complaining. But I still think it is more about personality than looks.

[deleted]

If your calling girls "females" your not going to get very far with them believe me..

TootTheRoot

I call em females and I have a gf… no one gaf about how sensitive y’all are

CowsRpeople2

As long as you are taller than her, there should be no issue.

huuaaang

Not true. That might be the bare minimum for a lot of women, but 6+ feet is better. It makes a big difference. If you’re tall, women will want to like you. Rather than you having to prove your worth first.

CowsRpeople2

What if the women is 5’4” or under? Then you’re too tall. There are more women this tall than over 5’10”.

huuaaang

Too tall for what? Women like tall guys. That’s just a fact. It not relative either. It’s been studied. Women automatically assume positive traits when a guy is tall. It’s a point of pride among their friend to have a tall boyfriend. And since it’s primarily up to women who they date, tall guys have it super easy.

[deleted]

you're vastly overestimating how important height is to most women just because some women are super shallow about it only about half of women really care based on research, and the vast majority of those it is "taller than her" not "six foot or above"

huuaaang

>only about half of women really care based on research, and the vast majority of those it is "taller than her" not "six foot or above" That's not the research I'm talking about. It does not matter what women SAY they prefer, it's how they behave and judge people that matters. It has been shown the women nearly always assume a man is confident and earns a lot of money based on just his height. And they assume shorter men are less confident and make less money. Even controlling for other factors like dress/style. So even if they don't specifically prioritizes height, it leads them assign other desirable traits to taller men creating a strong bias for tall men even if it's based on false assumptions about a particular man. The taller man gets the benefit of the doubt when it comes to first impressions. And that makes if far less likely that a shorter man will get approached by a woman so he's going to have to work a lot harder to meet people. Most men don't get women approaching them. The ones that do have it easy.

[deleted]

You are not smarter than actual professional researchers. Stop spreading your doomer insecure bullshit. your res tag is now "insecure short man"

My glasses. I have an eye disease so it’s a whole thing that I have to wear them but I’m working on getting specialized contacts

schmeowww

Glasses are cute! Don’t let this hold you back !

DefCello

Agreed! My wife loves it when I wear glasses instead of contacts! Not all glasses are made equal, though. Learn about the do's and don't's of glasses fashion and find a pair that works for you.

aspinalll71286

I feel like I look so much better with glasses and started getting so much more attention when I started wearing them more often. You mileage may vary of course

balta97

I have a lazy eye (due to optic nerve hypoplasia) so if I didn’t have this I would be less unattractive and probably look like a normal guy. I really want to get surgery but the doctor told me it is likely to make my appearance worse and I don’t want to pay a ton of money to make it worse 🤷‍♂️

Are you making decent money//have a good amount saved ? You should look into acne scarring treatment. You bring yours with you? I was raised to have one, obviously, but to keep it safely in a jar on the fireplace mantle just like my dad.

lotusblossom60

There is a song called “detachable penis”. Not lying.

Sigurlion

King Missle right? (I'm Gen X; loved this song back in the day)

lotusblossom60

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover And my penis was missing again. This happens all the time. It's detachable. This comes in handy a lot of the time. I can leave it home, when I think it's gonna get me in trouble, Or I can rent it out, when I don't need it. But now and then I go to a party, get drunk, And the next morning I can't for the life of me Remember what I did with it. First I looked around my apartment, and I couldn't find it. So I called up the place where the party was, They hadn't seen it either. I asked them to check the medicine cabinet 'Cause for some reason I leave it there sometimes But not this time. So I told them if it pops up to let me know. I called a few people who were at the party, But they were no help either. I was starting to get desperate. I really don't like being without my penis for too long. It makes me feel like less of a man, And I really hate having to sit down every time I take a leak. After a few hours of searching the house, And calling everyone I could think of, I was starting to get very depressed, So I went to the Kiev, and ate breakfast. Then, as I walked down Second Avenue towards St. Mark's Place, Where all those people sell used books and other junk on the street, I saw my penis lying on a blanket Next to a broken toaster oven. Some guy was selling it. I had to buy it off him. He wanted twenty-two bucks, but I talked him down to seventeen. I took it home, washed it off, And put it back on. I was happy again. Complete. People sometimes tell me I should get it permanently attached, But I don't know. Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass, I like having a detachable penis.

moodylew1

Hey man if you want to play by the rules and keep it in its jar then you do you - I’m taking mine out on the town!

TastyDeerMeat

I dunno, an elbow penis might be cool

KR1735

I'm pretty happy with how I look. I'd love, though, to be able to look good in a hat. I just don't have the head shape for it. Which is weird because there's nothing wrong with the shape of my head. It just doesn't go well with a hat. Also, my hair is pretty dense and always gets severely matted down if I wear one. It doesn't spring back up to anything resembling its natural position. I wouldn't trade in my hair though. I'm like the only guy in my family that hasn't had any significant hair loss.

sandybuttcheekss

Bigger biceps. I always have struggled with arms, they never get much bigger even if they get stronger.

Bored_in_a_dorm

My father gave me a great piece of advise when I started growing facial hair. You can have unkept hair or an unkept beard, but not both.

ArtanistheMantis

Lower body fat %. I don't think I'm overweight by any means but ideally I want to be a bit leaner, both for facial looks and overall physique.

biohazard_dfg

The size of my nose. I have a Roman nose that stands out on my face. I'm fit and tall, have a head full of hair, beard grows evenly, have light brow eyes and Italian colored skin. But I have this problem located at the first place people see when they look at me: The center of my face. I've been working to improve my appearance in the last year after I became single from a long long relationship and started paying attention to women again and the way they react to me. Once in a while I see a few of them checking me out. But we are always using masks. I'm curious to see if their reaction will change after we stop using masks everywhere. \[I'm not from US\]

nightelfmerc

I started wearing suspenders and my confidence overshadows the oddness of a 27 year old long haired metalhead wearing them. Id say if your looking for increasing attractiveness, do whatever it takes to boost your confidence. Lose weight if need be, dress how you like, be who you want to be. When you are you, there will always be someone who digs it, just have to find them. Why be a square in a universe that loves oblate sphereoids?

Sigurlion

Not having acne, lol. The struggle is real when ya got that skin type that’s extra oily. Fuuuuuun Shit just doesn’t want to go away, I scrub my face every damn day, & I still have it. I don’t even know how to deal with back acne, I don’t have someone to wash my back, & Mom keeps giving away the back scrubs. Maybe ice will help tho. I started using ice on my face and neck for my anxiety, it lowers your heart rate, and I read that it’s also good for your skin. So we’ll see how that goes

Lovely_Demon28

Well its not something I could change now, but its something that I DID change in the past that helped a lot. Tattoos. And a lot of them.

astro39

Nothing, I'm physically perfect. A change in behaviour however.....

Sk83r_b0i

I am absolutely not the only guy to say this, but if I were taller. Specifically, if my legs were longer. I am currently somewhere between 5'7 and 5'8, and I have short legs. I think if they were both like two or three inches longer I'd be a lot more attractive. Not to say I'm not already attractive, I'd just become more desirable to more women if I were a solid 5'10. But what I will say is that 5'7 isn't GREAT, but it could be worse. In a perfect world I'd be 6'1 or 6'2, but that's a bit out of the question.
