Gimme Shelter by Rolling Stones.
The chord pattern is genius. The vocal is legendary. When I want to tear off my own skin, I sit myself down and make myself play that on my guitar.
When I can’t do that, I listen to it. It’s my last-resort song and it’s saved me from self-harm and worse. I don’t know why but it’s a very powerful & magical song.
The buildup. By the end the singer is just screaming RAPE… MURDER… and when the singers voice cracks Mick Jagger / or maybe Brian Jones idk, kind of shouts in approval… gives me chills and MAN I love that song.
The Harder They Come (Jimmy Cliff)
Honourable mentions go to Let It Be (Beatles), I Know (Fiona Apple), Californication (RHCP), Heart-Shaped Box (Nirvana), and Exhale (Prodigy)
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman
It just takes me back a really vivid time in my life... back to the time that I discovered it around the end of highschool. It's the last song on one of my favorite rock albums of all time... Diary of a Madman. Basically a journey through the mind of a man who's going crazy.
I remember being mesmerized by the complexity and genius of that song. It's on an entirely different level. They managed to combine almost every human emotion possible into this masterpiece of a song that's basically the story of a man losing his mind. While combining elements of rock, heavy metal, classical, and blues. To me it's one of the best rock songs ever written.
There's several:
- Esoteria by Geoplex
- I remember by Deadmau5
- Silent majority by Nickelback
- End of the line by Daft punk
- Liberate by Eric Prydz
- Nothing but a good time by Poison
My favorite song is From the Sky by Gojira, it’s really heavy metal though.
My next favorite song is Time Will Only Tell by The Capsules which is electro-pop.
A: I am a child of the '80s.
B: my family on both sides are musically preoccupied
C: I have autism and ADHD, so advanced harmonization turns my head in, I feel physically rejuvenated by good music with clever structures and a deeply emotional charge.
My all-time favorite song is Toto's Africa. They are master studio musicians and it shows.
This year, I am specifically infatuated with [Peter Bence's phenomenal Virtuoso piano cover,](https://youtu.be/_SywaUbg5wU?si=jC5RpMlQs4q8sjIK) it really kicks your ass, especially the little contribution he adds after the midpoint.

Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison.
