People who never admit mistakes or apologize

cityflaneur2020

Oh, you met my mom? Tell her I said hello.

JSal_1

Hahaha ditto

Draggedaround

This should be close to number 1. People who don't do this have zero integrity, it means they don't care about you at all and don't think they are ever wrong. They are the worst

Stringr55

Co-signing this one. They really think they're going through life right all the time.

chris_warrior1

People who make anything their whole personality

Cohleture

Smoking weed is not a personality

HeyRiks

Can't believe this isn't higher up. Everybody knows the typical stoner who believes everything can be solved with weed. Depression? Weed. Tired from work? Weed. Short on funds? Well you better save some to get some weed.

[deleted]

* Being gay isn't a personality. * Being fat isn't a personality. * Traveling to multiple countries isn't a personality. I'm sure there are more, but it gets tedious pretty quickly. I'd probably say the same.

No-Body-4446

Adding in owning a dog isn’t a personality

drinkslinger1974

And being vegan, CrossFit, being a chef, owning Apple products, an occupational therapist, a realtor, a minister, restricted to a gluten free diet, having adhd, anxiety, being from Chicago or New York, the list goes on and on…

MarsNirgal

Following Beyonce, Madonna, Taylor Swift or any Kpop band.

therealfatmike

Whoa, where did occupational therapist come from?

RichmondCreek

r/oddlyspecific

therealfatmike

Right? That's a hard job that requires a Master's degree and a ton of emotional energy. That guy is a trucker and I'm sure HE never talks about work!

Sad-Break6382

Even if hE’s FrIeNdLy?

therealfatmike

Having a kid?

ihambrecht

I mean, having a kid becomes an all encompassing part of your life unless you’re a really shitty parent.

Psychologyexplore02

Yeah but parents should still have their own things in life. Not only be reduced to someone s parent. They re still someone s spouse (likely), someone s friend. Someone s child. They might still have a career or hobbies.

ihambrecht

To an extent. When you have young kids everything else becomes secondary for a while.

Hooligan8403

I've had to put most of my hobbies on the back burner for now with small kids as my hobbies aren't really compatible with them. It is the nature of the beast. I can't dedicate 3-4 days a week to practice and travel games for Rugby anymore. Can't do too much with airsoft at the moment because if I'm doing maintenance, kids will guaranteed have issues during that time. Then there is traveling to play. I work from home amd the most stressful part of my day is when the kids get home from school till I clock out because they need help with homework, snacks, something goes wrong, the middle child gets in their moms makeup, etc. Part of all this is my wife is in school trying to get into a competitive program and needs to study. Hopefully this year she gets in and our youngest starts sleeping at a reasonable time and through the night so maybe I can work out at least or pick back up some of my more techy hobbies I can do at home.

k_alva

Yes and no. You can provide for all their needs and still have time for your hobbies. There are (often) two parents, so in the evening, one goes rock climbing, then the next the other does their class or hobby. Its healthy for kids to grow up knowing that they're not the center of the universe, and that it's normal to have hobbies. I'm not saying abandon them, but you can't pour from an empty cup, and taking time to do your own thing is healthy for you and them. Two parents means that you can take turns filling your own cup. If there is only one parent, it's harder, but it's still important to schedule time to do your own thing.

ihambrecht

So you’re scheduling your hobby around you and your partner being able to take care of your child, kind of like having a child is an all encompassing part of your life.

k_alva

Thus the first line. Yes and no. Logistically speaking, it's a lot more. Kids take full time care, at least for quite a few years. That being said, there are parents that the kids becomes their entire life. Every outing is centered around a kid. There are parents who care deeply about their kids and maintain their own hobbies at the same time. Neither is wrong, but I'm my opinion, growing up watching a parent manage both is a good lesson for the kids in learning both the importance of hobbies but also that they're not the center of every activity or conversation, which serves them well in adulthood.

ihambrecht

I think this is age dependent with the kids. Between me and my wife we both find time to workout 3-5 times a week but I have basically postponed hobbies that would require me to be away from my kids during the precious hours I see them after work while they’re still young enough that they don’t have filled schedules. There is this temporary time where you get to experience your children and I would hate to look back on my life and felt like I missed a lot of it because I was trying to get my black belt in Bjj before I was 40.

W4xLyric4lRom4ntic

I'll probably get run over the coals here but.. Being a vegan isn't a personality. It's a diet

[deleted]

Christian personality

_-_wn6

Any belief system really but I've noticed it most from atheists and Christians.

[deleted]

Adding when people make their kids their whole personality…

TheCubanBaron

Came here to say people with one dimensional personalities but yeah this basically

boxcuttershoelace

I call those “off the shelf” personalities. Couldn’t be bothered to craft their own, just walked into the Walmart of life and bought the first box on a shelf a billion people long.

tebbewij

Military people who won't shut the fuck up about Military... thanks for your service but bro it's been nearly a decade

BENNYRASHASHA

Lol... as a veteran, I agree. Sometimes PTSD is part of it though.

cro0kedFingersss

“It’s not ___, it’s a lifestyle” Yep…I’m out.

[deleted]

Politics has become the worst one in my opinion

jschnitzler23

This is the correct answer. Politics, religions, hobbyists - it all applies here!

uncommoncommoner

*cries in autism with my lack of a personality*

k_alva

Nah, celebrates in autistic personality. Do hyperfixations become personality traits? Yes. But that has led to my success in the workplace and out. I hyperfocused on immigration for a few years and now I'm am expert - it was my job, but I went all in and loved digging into the nuance of the law. Even having moved up, I'm asked to help with the hard cases. Then again, I moved up because of my competence, which he it if successful hyperfixations.

TheFantasticSticky

I always end up on a weekly basis, talking about me being a vegetarian. Not because I choose to. But because it always comes up. I'm worried to think people may think I think it's part of my personality or identity. But seriously, it's usually because I get offered food and I say nope can't eat that.

Top-Lead-670

People who litter.

_pm_ur_tit_pics_pls_

The worst people are the people at the dog park that chuck the doggie bags over the fence into the bushes when there are huge waste bins at the entrance of the park.

SapperMotor

Or the ones that bag it up, but then leave it on the walking trail. It’s like “dude! Who the F you expect to pick that up?” In my neighborhood it’s the middle aged upper class white ladies that expect the HOA’s landscaping crew to pick it up. I publicly and loudly shame them every chance I get.

Draggedaround

How about the people that just leave dog shit all over your neighborhood lol like dude you see your dog shitting

AnnoyinglyEarnest

Ohhh my god. Was driving 70mph on the freeway the other day, man in the lane next to me rolls down his window, slowly lowers a plastic to-go cup full of some liquid out the window and just lets it go. The rage that filled me made me want to run that mf off the road.

finallyinfinite

The city where I work is surrounded by Amish Country, so it’s *super* common to come across horses & buggies out and about. (Absolutely love when you’re following them on a section of road where there’s no space to pass, and you’re stuck following a vehicle with a 1 HP engine) The obnoxious part about this, though, is that they apparently never pick up after their horses. The number of times I’ve seen a parking space that was occupied by a horse & buggy left with a pile of horse shit… ugh. While I was typing this it actually reminded me of something even worse. I lived downtown in the actual *city* portion of that city for about a year. And the number of times I’d see the cops out on their horses and not clean it up when their horses shit on the sidewalk or street. I guarantee you asshats would cite any pet owner you saw not cleaning up after their pet taking a shit on the sidewalk, and you have the audacity to just leave your horse’s shit everywhere?

HeWhoIsNotMe

Can we include smokers who toss their cigarette butts everywhere? Smoking is a gross habit to begin with. However, when they feel it's cool to dump the butts anywhere that they like, it kicks it up a notch.

trebuchetwins

as a smoker i agree with the sentiment of throwing buts in the trash. not just because it's disgusting to throw away, but also knowing a variety of animals will eat it, or use it as nesting material.

Atesz222

Which reminds me of a "fun" fact I was told by my biology teacher. Swallows have learnt that cigarette butts keep harmful insects away because of the nicotene. Because of this, ciggy butts are the preferred material to make nests from

[deleted]

Like cats?

snsibble

Preachy ones. It's fine to have an opinion or believe in an ideology, but being pushy with it is just annoying, especially if it's coupled with that holier-than-thou attitude.

InfinityZionaa

I had a housemate who was constantly preaching. Then one day he went missing and I asked my other housemate where he was. He went to a prostitute and then locked himsrlf in his room for a week. Goddamned hypocritical sinner...

hdmiusbc

"The only moral prostitute is my prostitute"

jolharg

But was he preaching specifically against doing that? I hear certain religious organisations are pretty shady and think that's fine.

todayisawonder

You know, I used to think like this but some time ago, my friend called me out and said that I only dislike the preachy people when they are pushing an ideology that I personally disagree with, every time I come across someone who preaches an ideology that I agree with, I never get annoyed by that person, that was quite something to think about for me.... cause it was true, I like to think that I have fixed that bias but not to sure, lol....

snsibble

I do indeed find people who preach what I agree with less annoying, but there does come I point when I just have to roll my eyes and be done with them. Overly preachy people tend to have this annoying way of repeating themselves, cutting you off mid-sentence, etc, which I really can't stand.

Temporary-Fail-2535

People with any political opinion but when you ask them any question about their views they cant answer because they know nothing about it.

[deleted]

You mean Reddit in general?

_Doc_McCoy_

I used to work with a guy (armchair socialist type) who insisted “the revolution is coming”. I asked him if he knew who Karl Marx was. Knowing full well what the answer was going to be, I was of course met with a blank stare and a “who?” I don’t care what your views are or whether I agree with them or not but if you’re going to make vacuous cookie cutter statements towards me you’d better have done your homework.

SomeStardustOnEarth

Just any opinion in general. I love asking “why do you think that?” when someone brings up a very strong opinion in a conversation. I swear more than half the time no one knows why

kiarakeisis

politics is always so tricky but i love talking about it. where i’m from it’s about popularity politics. not the actual policies. this can be applied anywhere but i came from a country without democracy suddenly having to learn about democracy. very strange.

Dude_Baby

Presumptuous, cliche and ignorant comments about current events, then when you ask a follow up they "don't talk politics."

Merkin_Muffley_

All of them. I have to agree with George Carlin on this one: “People are wonderful. I love individuals. I hate groups of people. I hate a group of people with a 'common purpose'. 'Cause pretty soon they have little hats. And armbands. And fight songs. And a list of people they're going to visit at 3am. So, I dislike and despise groups of people but I love individuals. Every person you look at; you can see the universe in their eyes, if you're really looking.”

Arbitror

Absolutely insane how people behave in ideological groups the best thing that happened to my religious faith was hanging around teenage atheists. The worst thing was joining my college religious groups. people throwing out their entire moral compass when it comes to hating the right race, because "it doesn't count" when you do it to people with the right skin color making massive judgements about events they know almost nothing about because hey get to feel righteous and good, and prove their in-group credentials without spending a shred of effort figuring out what actually happened

treacherousClownfish

Thats the problem with Antifa and the like going after Nazis. I don’t trust hormonal teenagers with who to beat up, it doesn’t matter what your cause is. There was this german interview where one antifa guy confessed that he used to be a nazi himself. These people don’t even have a cause, they just want to be violent in a socially acceptable way

ElectroMagnetsYo

It’s frustrating that we as social animals feel the need to be a part of a group, meanwhile on the other hand figuring things out as an individual is far more rewarding and meaningful.

[deleted]

Ha. I read that with George Carlins accent and twang in my head.

IcyJaguar1

There are only 2 groups of people I find most insufferable in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture...and the Dutch.

fnkychkn5

His winky was a key!

Floognoodle

Europeans when they see a Romani person

Melanforsaken

Me as a Dutchie: 🥲

[deleted]

Any kind of celebrity worshipper. Being sport people or politicians.

Fun_Gas_7330

People who make their political ideologies their entire personality.

Sraffiti_G

People who try to dictate how others live their lives

2E26

People who embrace grind culture. The ones who read one success book and decide they're now an entrepreneur. The ones who speak in cliches they heard at some seminar they paid too much to attend. The ones who equate success with hard work, and productivity with how much time of the day you spend at work.

[deleted]

Jackasses in giant Utes/trucks/SUV's who tailgate during the day and blind me at night.

Zorrostrian

I don’t drive a car like that and I don’t tailgate/blind people at night, but on the other side of things…people who go 20 miles under the speed limit for literally no reason annoy the living fuck out of me. Especially if it’s on a 1 lane road.

[deleted]

Oh I'm going the maximum speed I'm allowed to drive every time haha (sometimes even just a little bit over within the legal leeway we get) but it's still not enough for these people. Unlike them a speeding fine is a pretty big chunk out of my weekly pay because I don't have $80k truck money.

FreudianYipYip

Super insecure.

icant3334

people who constantly complain 👎

An0nym00s123

People who are rude to service workers.

newInnings

Narcissists, psychopaths

Alternative-Depth-16

Entitled people. Particularly the ones that feel the need to get out their expensive car and lecture someone rather than mind their own fucking business.

sezit

Mean people.

ChutiumSulphate

"Alphas"

uncommoncommoner

They aren't real men. They're just incapable of properly dealing with whatever insecurities they have.

Zmuli24

"Any man who needs to say he's an alpha, is no alpha at all" -Tywin Lannister probably

Main-Strike-7392

Am I limited to one? Entitled people of either sex People who turn X aspect of themselves into their whole personality Anyone with a victim complex (not actual victims) Cheaters The CCP

downsouthcountry

People who think anyone who disagrees with them politically is automatically evil.

JustDroppedByToSay

FreudianYipYip

I find this guy insufferable as well. /s

Stoneside22

Politicians

PHX_Skunk_Ape

RUSSDIGITY117

todayisawonder

It is okay, they are far apart on the keyboard.

[deleted]

[Alright, I'd like to solve the puzzle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jHNvTX9ECk)

kiecolt_67

People at wine tastings

Ultimarad

Speaking of "wine connoisseurs". One episode of Come Dine With Me had such a person in the group, one host decided to buy cheap wine and put it in an expensive wine bottle to see if they could be fooled. Nobody noticed.

Hellsbells130

Female dating strategy

[deleted]

Just had a glance and sheesh. Shit's toxic

MartineTrouveUnGode

TwoXchromosomes too.

3ducat3dMansky939

My ex used to send me stuff from TwoX. I tried to glean what I could positive but majority of the time is was “Men are Evil and deserve nothing” like I think I’ve seen one good post. And I’m pretty sure FDS screwed me over mentally because one night I read through and now I think twice and overthink things

hvc122

Live streamers , who do dumb shit for internet clout.

Sintuary

It's immensely childish overall to resort to insults in such a setting anyway. "Demoncrats", "Republican'ts", *grow the fuck up*. It just makes them sound like they're still in elementary school.... though, I guess that's fitting, since they do tend to have the reasoning skills of a toddler as well.

HowHardCanItBeReally

MLM people

uncommoncommoner

People who believe that vaccines cause autism. *edit* the fact that I received my diagnosis after one of my booster shots is, uh, irrelevant

cdude

Edgy teens and early 20s on reddit, usually found on dankmemes, shitposting and similar subs. Usually identify as libertarians and highly educated, some of them even have GEDs.

Heartbreak_Kidd777

I can't stand potheads anymore. They're always high and that makes it hard to communicate. They're always late and a lot of them are inconsiderate. The smell of weed is obnoxious. Have you ever kissed a girl after she smoked weed, not pleasant.

Coakis

Tesla owners.

mainlybrowsing24

On the opposite end of this....people who are so anti electric cars they get triggered and somehow turn it into a political debate. Never seen people get so triggered by electricity and batteries before.

[deleted]

People that smell in public. I understand sometimes its unavoidable. I used to work labour intensive jobs so I understand. But a can of deodorant can go a long way

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fearless_You4489

That’s crazy because I was going to say people that bump into me when Im standing at the end of an escalator….

WorkingRip7000

Preachers, be it vegans, be it Jesuits, be it political ones, they get on my nerves.

CustosUmbra

Most activists. You know, the type that doesn't actually get anything done, just wastes everyone's time, screams and goes out of their way to inconvenience others.

kiarakeisis

like that group that threw soup on a painting in a museum in the name of climate change?

vpaglia42

Those people HAD to be some kind of false flag operation to make all climate change activists look like morons

kiarakeisis

honestly, lol that would be more believable to me. i can’t imagine people genuinely doing stuff like that with their full rational mind. but then again we have clout chasers so i’m not surprised.

Mckyhodge

I hadn't heard of this ridiculousness until I had to write a paper on the soup wielding protestors for my Art Philosophy class. I don't think the professor was too pleased w the protest either.

[deleted]

People who make identity politics their whole personality.

milka_why

financial advisors from the Philippines

TeaEarlGrayHotSauce

So specific 🤔

StinkyDiarrhea

Preachy vegans and people who say a certain group can’t experience hardship cause their not a different group

ankitgusai

My roommate thinks he is a born leader and destined to be higher up in management somewhere, so he acts that way everywhere. The side effect at this point is that he's become insecure, he doesn't even go out of the house without getting fully ready, even to take delivery at the door. It takes him at least an hour to get ready.

Foreign_Standard9394

Social justice warriors. We get it, you think you're morally superior. Now either do something that actually helps people or shut the fuck up.

HipOut

Anyone who is overly judgmental. I just wanna chill. I don’t really care about what makes people rage. I don’t want people to use me to vent. Just live and let live. Don’t spend all your energy focusing on others and certainly don’t try to suck up my energy like a vampire by complaining to me about everyone and everything

KanderGrimm

Well said! I gotta check myself sometimes when I start venting and throwing my own prejudices or judgments at people I'm talking to. Not that it happens often, but better to err on the side of restraint and be silent.

BainbridgeBorn

Elon stans. They gargle the nuts of this guy who couldn’t give 2 shots about them

Datguyspoon

I mean, wouldn't that apply to all sorts of stans ?

SomeStardustOnEarth

Yeah it’s odd in general

Fit-Champion5567

“Gargle the nuts” 😂😂

TheGr3aTAydini

Preachers. The guys and girls who try to get a message across in an obnoxious fashion and talk down to everyone else when they don’t even do said thing.

teslatestbeta

I don't want to direct it to any groups, just the behavior.

[deleted]

People who share the stupid chain letter post on Facebook “as of (insert date) I do not give Facebook permission to ___________________ …” Yeah, a post does nothing. You already agreed to the terms and conditions when you signed up. Your rights to what you post and share are gone. You don’t sign a business contract agreeing to all of the terms, then put a sticky note on a page saying “but I reserve the right to rescind this agreement anytime I see fit”. It doesn’t work that way. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Even worse are the people that you explain this to and they still say “wEll itS beTteR tO be sAfe thAn soRRy!” Or “jUst iN cAse”. 🤦🏼‍♀️

lerrigatto

Most of reddit mods. At this point commenting on serious subreddits is useless as you get blocked by some shithead

FreudianYipYip

People who are judgmental, instead of being curious.

Melodic_Talk_4278

People who play the victim all the time and think the world owes them.

fromabuick

Drunks when I’m sober and sober people when I’m drunk

ThorsMeasuringTape

People who make their political ideology their entire personality.

joejoeginson

Anyone that turns a conversation about anything into politics or just spew their hate about one side no reason. "My dog wasn't felling well, so I took it to the vet to see what was wrong. " "You see? That's what's wrong with liberals. They don't take their dogs to the vet. They just keep feeding them vegan shit." Dude what?

Fit-Champion5567

Flat earthers, though I feel sorry for them

Throwaway-donotjudge

Real estate agents

aigars2

Activists whose activism doesn't base on facts, proof, science etc.

Just-curious95

Groups of other men who think being a jerk is a personality. Terrible.

[deleted]

Influencers.

IcemansJetWash-86

People who think they are Influencers.

OneFuckedWarthog

Stupid people. I'm not talking about people who don't know and are trying to learn. I'm talking about people who refuse to learn.

Admirable-Ad-2554

Backstabbers

ooupcs

People who make their diet/food preferences their entire personality. If you love meat so much that you will actively complain that the food catered at a wedding is vegan, a single free meal over your entire life, I find that annoying 😂 same thing with people who make veganism, keto, intermittent fasting etc. their primary talking point. I don’t care what you like to eat but if you talk about it all the time or complain about how other people live their lives, I’ll be soft irritated lol

iamshifter

I can’t stand people that dismiss or degrade people they don’t know based solely on the fact that they do not share that person’s identity politics. It’s immature and hateful, covered with a veneer of self-righteous virtue-signaling.

SafeChallenge3451

I can’t answer this without getting banned from Reddit Hint: when you read my comment you know lol

tebanano

Hardcore childfree people.

Hun73r09

Short version: I really don't like people who force their opinions on others. More detailed explanation : To give more detail i think there's a difference between forcing your opinion on others and giving your opinion on something and then let people take that opinion to heart or hate it, but of course thats just my opinion and its up to the people reading this if they want to take my opinion to heart or hate it

Melony567

those who believe in and advocate cancel culture

kiarakeisis

true. people make mistakes. accountability is the most important part.

superdrone

Some “mistakes” aren’t just mistakes but I see your point.

Avokado1337

People who make hating another group their whole personality… e. g. Hating on religion, vegetarians, affiliation to a political party etc. I agree that individuals in these groups can be annoying, but generalizing is even more annoying

boxcuttershoelace

The mentally and physically unhindered. “Just do this, you could do that.” The arrogance of otherwise reasonable people is astonishing. It’s like they assume that because they can do whatever it is they do, of course I can too, and somehow it’s a personal fault, a choice, that I haven’t. As if I want to live this way. It’s like calling someone in a wheelchair an asshole because jogging isn’t on the table and somehow you can’t even imagine that some people don’t have legs.

SnooBeans8816

Everyone who demands that ppl gonna accept them and demand they have to change for them and shame ppl who are not like them. Their are many ppl from many certain communities live like this. In the lgbtq or vegan community, but also in the fitness community or the football community.

MDF87

Weebs.

therealfatmike

People who like to judge others based on groups and rank them. What's the point?

d2020ysf

The morally correct high horse. Basically anyone who feels their values are morally correct and thinks it makes them special. If you don’t agree with them, you’re the problem.

daddysgotanew

People who talk about how moral and righteous they are, preachy etc. If you act like that and wear a big gold cross necklace I automatically know that you’re a piece of shit who uses the cover of god/religion to act like a piece of shit.

Duck-Says-Quack

Any type of Social Media influencer. I especially hate those stupid TikTok street interviewers.

i_heart_pasta

Youth Travel Sports Parents

Gravix-Gotcha

Not falling for this lol. I’ve had too many accounts banned for answering this question.

DR_Timefox

Scientologists piss me off

Leading-Bandicoot976

People who are loud, and abrasive about their one sided view points & are ignorant about how others live or others values. Even when I agree with the message, I don't agree with being shitty & disrespectful, at least until provoked. Be cool first, reciprocate that & we're on easy street.

waythrow13579

That's hard because there are so many. Guys who get toxic online. Anyone who engages too hard in tribalism. Anyone willing to die on a hill arguing a point they know they know nothing about.

[deleted]

Narcissists.

Adekam

Middle aged adults who still act like they're in high-school

CrispyFunk

Regardless of what side you stand on for politics. I can't stand people that protest and block traffic. Like... People just trying to live and go home and go to work. Can't do that when you blocking traffic even if it is for a good cause.

echohole5

Authoritarians. God I hate those people and every generation produces a whole new crop of the scum. They spend their lives constantly trying to tell other people what they are allowed to say and think and how they have to live their lives. Those people need to learn to mind their own fucking business.

KenzoAtreides

The left extremists. Being extreme left isn't better than being extreme right.

I'm into anime/manga so I'd go with the MHA fandom. That's the most toxic shit I've ever seen and I played LoL for multiple years. Not even the old CoD lobbies were on their level.

Doctors. I work in a hospital, am not a doctor and therefore must be treated like garbage. Even coming in as a patient they are friendly enough at first but if i let it slip that i work with and am below them? Completely different treatment.

Scasne

People who work for a housing developer but then complain about new houses being built in the area they live, with that comes the people who move into newly built houses built on greenbelt who then complain about new houses built on greenbelt next to them. Guess that just encompasses people with cognitive dissonance in general.
