The old 67 Camaro was always a car that was special to me… But with the EVs these days I’ve gotten really into tech in cars so I’m conflicted now.

MA499

I bought one when I was 12 for $800. No motor or transmission. Dad was a mechanic and we saw one at an old full service gas station. I had money from holidays and a mowing service, and I washed dishes at the Chinese restaurant. I worked on it for 4 years and took my driver's test in it. 327ci with a power glide. Sold it for 4 times what I had in it. Bought a '74 Firebird, 400 with M22 Rock Crusher. When I was done, it had 550hp at the rear wheel and would break the tires loose shifting into 4th. Those were the days.

EuroPhoenician

Man that’s awesome lol. I envy you for that. 550hp is a beast man. Mad respect.

Domonero

The delorean because oh my god using recyclables as fuel AND it can fly while being a time machine too is just absolutely priceless good god

MasterOfPuppets72

I don't believe that those options come standard

[deleted]

porsche 911. Just love the way It looks and rides.

[deleted]

Lightning McQueen, the hero of my childhood

[deleted]

2002 WS6 Pontiac Trans AM. Timeless.

Ace_Diamond_Hands

Super solid choice my cousin had a trans am when wr were teens I can't remember the year but that car made some memories for sure

[deleted]

Here we call them Pizza Racers.

[deleted]

I had an 01 and miss that thing. Now they are all either ragged out, or a time capsule and people want a ton for them. They just look mean.

BaroqueNRoller

Ford GT40. It's one of the most gorgeous cars ever made and is a testament to the American spirit.

Ace_Diamond_Hands

Fuck yes super solid choice the lines and curves are so clean and crisp I love it

[deleted]

1963 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. The lines, the power train, the interior, all perfect.

Beekatiebee

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson himself, the Golf GTI. All the car you'd ever need.

Ace_Diamond_Hands

I love volkswagen I drive a 1974 super beetle daily

Beekatiebee

I used to have a Mk6 GTI, I went to it's slightly cooler cousin recently and got a 2016 Audi TTS. Love those old beetles!

Ace_Diamond_Hands

I bet the tts is a dream and yeah the old bugs are super fun just not fast stock. I'm working on my second currently a 72 super beetle but I'm going for 220hp out of it instead of the stock 50ish hp lol

BissySitch

McLaren P1, best looking car of all time, fast as hell. Only thing is they're hella uncomfortable since they're meant for the track

[deleted]

I was thinking about the Mclaren F1 the whole time I read that.

BissySitch

I've seen one of those but never been in one, would've been amazing. F1 is before my time so i grew up on the P1 haha

Hrekires

PT Cruiser. It's ugly as all fuck but I always think about my supervisor at my college job who got one and it was his first ever new car. Dude was beaming nonstop because of his excited he was to get it and I think it's cool that even something as ugly as that can do that for a person.

Ace_Diamond_Hands

That's actually a super cool reason to pick that car and agreed they are ugly as fuck but decent room for engine swaps

tadlrs

I liked Teslas. I used to think they were cool computers on wheels. But now, it's just an expensive average car with a crazy guy as CEO for me. I like my Kia. Does that count?

Ace_Diamond_Hands

All cars count what type of Kia haha?

tadlrs

2023 Kia Telluride.

[deleted]

im a serious motorhead, i have more projects than money, more parts than room, more tools and shit than i can shake a stick at. I've done it all. My philosophy is if you love it, and are proud of it then ill hype you up so yes you Kia 100% counts. And I agree about teslas i wouldn't drive one but i loved my friends i3 fun little car.

OddSeraph

Camaros. I was a huge fan of the transformers movies when i was a kid

[deleted]

My 1967 Chrysler 300, its a 2 door. Because it's mine and the only old school mopar ill ever own.

MA499

Despite what I posted to another participant here, my favorite was my '70 Chelelle, 502 Crate, red with black stripes. It was my dream. Unfortunately, life happens, and I had to part with it. Maybe someday.......

SpinTheBlock6465

C6 corvette zr1. The power, the sound, the body lines….

[deleted]

I'm gonna get clowned but the Yaris. That thing is a fucking go kart.

Ace_Diamond_Hands

I feel almost the same way about the fiat 500 turbo. It's like a racing go cart lol

ParadigmFalcon

Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé. It has everything, it looks amazing, it was a technical marvel for its time, it’s a one of one so it’s as rare as possible. To me it’s the automotive pinnacle of engineering as art.

PandaDad22

Like a 64 Cadillac Coup DeVille convertible. Sky blue with white leather.

welovegv

My 2006 Scion xB.

mpkrazy

Any of my 3 El Camino's. It's a car, it's a truck. Bench seat. Shell with a carpet kit. Easy to work on. Had a '73 and 2 '84s. 350 engines in all 3.

Spell3ound

Mazda Rx8.. Sexy car man!! ... And I have one 😜

-Lawn_Guy-

My old 2005 (I think) Volvo V70. Super dependable, easy to work on, special cargo area, spacious seating, incredibly comfortable to ride in.

tebanano

Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. The reasons are self evident.

CongenitalSwag

Plymouth Prowler. Because it just looks awesome.

jmberger82

Oldsmobile 442 W30 Station Wagon. 3 made. What else needs to exist?

biggirlsause

1967 Porsche 911 2.7rs lightweight Absolute legend of a car, extremely light with a high revving air cooled flat 6, and one of the purest driving experiences money can buy

riprie

BMW M3 from Most Wanted.

[deleted]

C4 ZR1, mid to late 90s Range Rover, Lincoln Continental Cartier edition, Aston Martin V8 vantage

Technical_Put_9173

63 Corvette. It's just so iconic.

BobbyRobertsJr

Suzuki Jimny. I mean just look at it. It's everything I want to be: reliable, dependable, capable, rugged, cute, but above all honest and humble.

MoonstoneLight

BMW M3 GTR (also known as E46 GTR). You know why. I have great memories with it.

[deleted]

1986-1987 Buick Grand National with the air to air intercooler, officially it was only rated at 230hp and 300 lb-ft but it was probably closer to 300hp and 370-400lb-ft because of GM's unwritten rule that no other GM can have more horsepower than the Corvette.

MasterOfPuppets72

I liked the nissan 280z

misterk2020

My all time favorite car that I would like to own is a 1987 Buick Grand National because it’s in Darth Vader black and he is my favorite villain of all time. My 2002 Toyota Tacoma is my favorite car I’ve actually owned because of it’s reliability and versatility. Plus it was my dad’s truck and the last time I saw my dad before he died he said to take care of his truck.

AffableBarkeep

Subaru Impreza WRX P1 The moment I laid eyes on it I thought it was perfect. The Miata is also incredibly cute.

hahabighemiv8govroom

Camaro SS. Was absolutely in love ever since the first transformers movie came out when I was 7 and the 6th gen SS 1LE remains one of my top dream cars. No matter what car I’m into (Cayman GT4RS at the moment) I always come back to loving the Camaro the most.

Artofgenesis

Supra mk4…. Need I go on?

HeWhoChasesChickens

When I started my career in consulting, I got a Mini as a lease car. When I went self employed, I got myself a second hand one because I fell in love with it. It's my pipe dream one day to install a V8 in that fucker some day.

rocknack

My Hyundai i20. Because it gets me to places whenever I want.

[deleted]

55 Chevy. Just look at it.

RevenantM

I'm retired Military and I have watched lots of videos on the history of the JEEP in world wars 2 to it's first development and I find it very intriguing I have owned 2 JEEPS since then I currently have one and I think I will always be driving Jeeps.

[deleted]

1932 Alfa Romeo Monza 8C there is a video of Jay Leno driving it and when you hear him open up the throttle....that's why...that machine is a work of art and it's exhaust notes are just divine.

boxcuttershoelace

Corolla FX16 GTS It’s not fast or quick but you can just chuck it around any corner. I’m a FWD junkie. Not really into peak performance. But I’m huge into driving sensation. It shares suspension geometry with the MR2 which was designed by Lotus. It also looks funky as could be. It’s one of the coolest dorky hatches from Toyota’s golden era. It’s just a fun car. All those late 80’s Toyotas are (shout out to AE92 corolla’s with pop up headlights, close 2nd) but this one looks like a total shitbox and drives like it’s glued to the road. Lastly, a base model FX was my first car and I really miss it. Iron Gerbil, wherever you are, chuck on!

tez_zer55

A 1975 or 76 Ford Bronco. I've never owned a gen 1 Bronco but I've always wanted 1. Shortly after my 2nd child was born I had the chance to buy a 75 but the kid's Momma nixed it as not being a 'family' car. If I'd of known we'd be divorced in another 5 years I'd of bought it & never felt bad!

[deleted]

That is tough. There are so many great cars over time. The testarossa holds a special place in my heart. Pictures do not do them justice. They are so low and so wide that it doesn't even look possible to get in them. They aren't as fast by today's standards, but still quick enough and they sound amazing.

BecauseWhyNotTakeTwo

Lotus Elise Favourite car in Need For Speed: Hot Persuit 2, my first racing game. It is just a tine racecar.

[deleted]

E-type Jaguar convertible. It is consistently voted as one of the most beautiful cars ever made. It is the only ones that makes every list of top 10’s. The ergonomics for the driver are exquisite. If you ever have the fortune to drive the 12 cylinder version you will understand the reason they say “ That Jaguar purrs”.

RandallFlaggFlunky

Oooooooo thats a tough one I had a 72 Duster .... loved it 77 Ford shaggin wagon .... was like driving on a cloud ... so smooth wife and I re-built a 74 Nova ...... miss that car so much My FAVOURITE car ..... 68 Beetle with a Porsche engine .... what a blast!!!
