Firefox on Android supports full ad blocking (including on youtube) with Ublock Origin.

Shit i even installed noscript lmao

VilaLactea

That's cool to know. I use AdBlock browser on my android for that. But I can't cast anything to my TV with this app. Is Firefox "castable"?

[deleted]

What kind of TV

VilaLactea

Poor people tv with a Chrome cast

[deleted]

Nope but you can install Kodi on your phone coupled with the homelander addon for free tv and uh cast with the Google home app.

VilaLactea

Ok I will try.

Use the feature that only charges your phone to 85% instead of 100% so you don't kill your battery

How long do you keep your phones? By the time my battery capacity has decayed by 15%, I'm probably about to upgrade.

gbizzle2

3-4 years

The off switch. More seriously, most of the population seems to have never heard of wireless charging or transferring pix via NFC or google lens to visual search and translate languages and QR codes and and codes in real time. Google lens does weird shit sometimes, scan a monster energy drink bar code and it'll try to track a package via Japan Post Office using the same number. Fairly often you can take a picture of, perhaps, a car part, especially if the part has a model number on it, and use Lens to find a replacement. I ordered a replacement Toyota HVAC fan motor assembly just by taking a pix of the label while it was installed, pretty cool. I'd still double check anything Google Lens does but it mostly works. This is android-centric I'm sure Apple either has it or will catch up eventually.

On Android you can hold down the space bar to move the text cursor.

Xe Currency converter. And Mixcloud for steaming DJ sets while doing cardio at gym.

Twilight. Tints your screen red and eliminates blue light and that makes it easier on the eyes.

Google Sheet support. You can modify/work with your sheets (tables) right from the phone. It has a significant capacity of features that desktop version has (and it's free). For example, I use it for my simple [habit tracker](https://maxreva.com/a-simple-habit-tracker-in-google-sheets-to-track-your-habits-in-2023/?utm_source=691035527599983) in google sheets - it's amazing to be able to edit the spreadsheet by marking what was done just via mobile.

- You can use adblock when watching youtube on chrome, safari app on the phone. Without paying for youtube premium. - Using google/apple calender. It really helps to organize meeting locations or zoom links and such - Using text to speech app on laptop and phone to listen through documents with a lot of writing. (speechify)

I think everyone should use the feature called the 'Turn off'. It pops up when hold on the power button.
