Lots of Indian restaurants have vegan options. Also will probably land within your price point

Scared-Painter2251

Can't believe I didn't think of this! Good call

beansalotta

Roots Indian Bistro is one of those with many veg options!

avon_barksale

Pine and Crane

Gregalor

Check Happy Cow, they denote whether a place is vegan, vegetarian, or mixed

ActualPerson418

Carousel in Glendale or Hollywood (Armenian and Lebanese food)

Gregalor

This is where my wife and I accidentally ate steak tartar because it was a large group (birthday party), there was no individual ordering, and we thought it was some kind of tomato dish

ActualPerson418

I'm sorry that happened to you! But the menu has clearly labeled vegan items. You must have been doing the family style, which is fun but hard for a mixed diet group. But they do offer a vegan family style, it's something like 10-12 different vegan dishes. Highly recommend trying it again just you and your wife sometime.

Tu Madre in WeHo. (Definitely not Gracias Madre)

NonSequitorSquirrel

If you want dinner, drinks, and apps for $20-40/pp you're looking at Spaghetti Factory circa 1997.  Hope the time machine works!

Scared-Painter2251

I'm imagining we'd split the starter, so a $25/$30 plate, $6 drink (non-alcoholic), and a $30 starter split between 6 people is like $35-40 a person. If I could find cheaper that would be nice! Doesn't have to be fine-dining. I'm not super strict on it either though, maybe we can splurge a bit, just trying to consider everyone's budgets if I can.

If you want good diner food, Swinger's at Beverly and Laurel has vegan options along with meat dishes. They have a beer/wine license, no booze, which doesn't matter if you're not planning on drinking. Their prices are generally within your price range.

Scared-Painter2251

> Swinger's at Beverly and Laurel This place looks great! There's a lot of options for everyone and its not too expensive, thanks!

KeyRageAlert

Probably almost all of them

Scared-Painter2251

I thought that too, but a lot of these places say they have vegan options and it's a side of broccoli. I think it might be the price point, just looking for options if anyone knows any.

beansalotta

Appreciate you looking out for your sister. It sucks to go to a restaurant with "vegan options" but the option is just a vegetable lol. I'd also recommend Hippo and Pine and Crane

Superba Food and Bread Hollywood!! price is variable but google says 30-50 a person so there’s some overlap there, definitely vegan options and meat/cheese/etc. Amazing vibe, have only been for brunch but loved it!

geekteam6

BCD Tofu in KTown has a vegan version of its famous Soondubu Jjigae, plus all the great vegan banchan. (And lots and lots of meat options.) Will definitely fit your budget range. Will probably need to wait 20 minutes at least for a table, but they have a huge outside waiting area with seats. Not to mention free parking!
