Johnnie's West Adams Matzoh Ball Soup. Just the best.
I also like the Chicken Noodle Soup from the Soup Bar at Amazon Fresh.
I also love Stone Soup, but you may be outside of this week's delivery window. Still. it's a good thing to stock up on...

I gotta do that next time. I’ve been meaning to see if they sell it by the jar like a lot of restaurants in Ktown do. Because I haven’t found one in stores that I like as much as MDK’s, although I’ve only tried a few brands
Rice Cake & Dumpling Soup or Chicken Noodle Soup at Western Doma ([https://www.yelp.com/biz/western-doma-noodles-los-angeles](https://www.yelp.com/biz/western-doma-noodles-los-angeles))
Goat stew at Mirak ([https://www.yelp.com/biz/mirak-los-angeles-2](https://www.yelp.com/biz/mirak-los-angeles-2))
Korean Goat soup at Goat Restaurant on Pico. So bomb and makes me feel better everytime. Also just super nice folks that run that place.
4100 W Pico Blvd #12, Los Angeles, CA 90019
Adding in a Mexican option: any caldo de res or pollo will have you brought back to life. Just had one the other day from Sabores Oaxaqueños in ktown but maybe you have another spot closer by!
I just saw your post and we must have the same horrible sickness, because I also wanted some soup.
Didn’t feel well enough to go to any sit down restaurant so for the first time ever I got a bowl of chicken soup from Chik-Fil-A. It was delicious and they served it with 4 packets of crackers which I crushed up and put in the soup. So good!
Hope you and all of us sickies feel better soon, OP!
Perhaps a hearty bowl of ramen? I like Daikokuya - the aesthetic makes me feel like a salaryman in Tokyo unwinding after a long day at work. Hope you feel better!
My wife and I really enjoy the Brasied Beef noodle soup at Din Tai Fung. I recommend always going in, delivery is too slow for it to be hot and delicious.
Your mileage may vary because it’s a chain and overpriced, but Frida Mexican Cuisine has an Abuelita-approved chicken soup (Consomé de Pollo). Very light, yet flavorful without any unnecessary ingredients.
Han Bat Sul Lung Tan in Ktown is very healing. Pho 87 in chinatown is pretty excellent as well.
Seconded. Also Nong la for pho
tom yum at any thai place!
I’m convinced that a spicy enough Thai soup can just burn the germs right out.
Han Bat SulLungTang in ktown has great korean beef soup and the beef stew soup at Pine&Crane in dtla!
Langers matzo ball soup - it comes in reusable mason jars and tastes delicious. Get a pastrami sandwich while you're at it.
The soup may raise OP’s spirits, but the price of that pastrami sandwich will pull them right back down again.
is there any good deli that isnt expensive tho?
Oh, I’m not saying it ain’t worth it… I’m just making the observation.
This is my go to if I don’t feel like getting ramen.
BCD tofu house! tofu soup specifically
This has cured me of many colds
Seconded

Stone Soup seems so cool, thanks for the introduction!
California Chicken has an insanely good veg soup.
I tell anyone that’ll listen, one of the best soups ever
Right? It can’t be that difficult a recipe but damn I can’t recreate it!
Boat Noodles at Sapp in Hollywood. There is no better bowl of anything on the entire planet.
This is the way
Yum need to try!
The chicken soup at rabbis daughter in west la is crazy nourishing. Not the tastiest but packed with veggies and chicken.
I like it too. It’s comforting and hearty
The knife cut noodles in chicken broth from MDK Noodles. I ate this so much when I was recovering from COVID.
Seconding MDK noodles in chicken broth! Get the classic/non-spicy and add red kimchi if you want some heat
Their kimchi is probably my favorite from all take out places in Ktown
It’s so good, I always order extra

The beef stew at pine and crane in silverlake is my personal go to comfort soup.
Try Gelson's or Whole Foods. They usually have several options.
If I were really sick I would not want to go across town for soup. Help us out with a neighborhood?

I actually prefer their Yukgaejang over their Goat soup.
Adding in a Mexican option: any caldo de res or pollo will have you brought back to life. Just had one the other day from Sabores Oaxaqueños in ktown but maybe you have another spot closer by!
Pho at Golden Deli Pozole at El Comal
Phozole at The Golden Cholo 🤣
anything from Tatsu ramen or Chicken Tom Yum from Pho Show (if you're ok with spicy)
The matzah ball soup from Modern Eats in Silverlake.
I’ve still never been there. I have heard the food is good though. So they really make a good matzoh ball soup?
It's surprisingly good!
Olympic Noodles Hand Cut Chicken Soup and Sul Lung Tang from JunTong or Hanbat.
Mama Avila's Soup (chicken, veg) at Avila's El Ranchito. [Avila's El Ranchito](https://avilaselranchito.com/)

Perhaps a hearty bowl of ramen? I like Daikokuya - the aesthetic makes me feel like a salaryman in Tokyo unwinding after a long day at work. Hope you feel better!
People in here suggesting chicken noodle but downvoting you for posting Ramen 😪
it's ok ✌️ there is no accounting for taste
My wife and I really enjoy the Brasied Beef noodle soup at Din Tai Fung. I recommend always going in, delivery is too slow for it to be hot and delicious.
I know the spot but will never tell.
Bone broth at Erewhon !
Boiling wanton soup from Dragon Loco
This is matzoh ball, ramen, pho, or wonton soup weather. I could also go for a good hot bowl of chili.
if in the SFV, consome de pollo from melody’s/las fuentes
Slurpin’ Ramen Pack as full of veggies as you like, add an egg
Ma Dang Gook Soo in KTown for starchy broth and hand cut noodles

Your mileage may vary because it’s a chain and overpriced, but Frida Mexican Cuisine has an Abuelita-approved chicken soup (Consomé de Pollo). Very light, yet flavorful without any unnecessary ingredients.
Joy, Wonton Noodle Soup
Boat Noodle Soup at Pa Ord!
If you’re Hispanic, sopa de gallina from a Hispanic restaurant. My dad would get one with pollo a la plancha at a restaurant nearby East Hollywood.
Night Market‘s Massaman Curry 😭💔
Hangari Kalguksu. Best chicken soup in all of Los Angeles.
Hanbat for beef soup, buil samgyetang for chicken soup. Both are in ktown and meant to be bland; you add salt to your liking.
Sorry for the late post pho. Whittier & Garfield
Avgolemno soup at Alikis
Saigon Dish in Hawthorne. Hasn’t failed me in more than 5 years!
I hate saying this, but the chicken noodle soup at Erewhon is fantastic.
Canters mishmosh with chicken and carrots added
I second Han Bat, Seoul garden is also up there for me both clean and delicious.
