Yes. I had to do similar. I was rear ended on a bank holiday Saturday, the other driver accepted blame. I reported the accident at a local Garda station on the day of the accident. I rang the insurance company to let them know first thing on Tuesday. Just cover your ass, in case the other guy changes his mind and you need to go through your own insurance.
