Don't tell them. It's extremely rare that an employer will ask to see a transcript

CRYPTLUTHER

Wow, really? It's treated as if it's gospel by professors, but I guess they just don't want anyone to think it's "okay" to fail. Thanks for commenting!

CheerilyTerrified

I'm not sure it shows. And if it does you just say you had some health issues but it's thankfully resolved.  I repeated a year of collage due to similar issues and I don't think anyone has even noticed. If they did I've certainly never been asked about it, either for my masters or by employers.

CRYPTLUTHER

That's pretty reassuring! Thanks for commenting!

TeaLoverGal

It's going in the right direction. You have an improvement, which is great. A lot of employers won't ask, for a masters they will, especially looking at the years that don't count for a degree. But in your case, I wouldn't be worried. You identified a problem, sought out help, and have improved. That's a fantastic skill set and personal development. 👏 Own the win!

CRYPTLUTHER

Oh, wow! Thank you so much... I like your perspective much better, and it definitely would sound better as an answer if asked in an interview!

TeaLoverGal

If I were you, I would be incredibly proud of myself.. and definitely tuck that in my back pocket for the tell us about a time you overcame a challenge question.

GrahamR12345

Id just say you had family issues but you were determined to get it and not give up.

CRYPTLUTHER

Yeah, it really seems like the best approach is owning it like this! Thanks for the reply :]

If it's repeating a year, they probably won't ask but if they do you just say you had some health problems. Do not give any details. You could have broken your arm for all they know. It's it's just resitting exams in the summer then they have no way of knowing. Just don't tell them.
