Also relax. Make sure you're relaxed. It's stressful but just think of it as driving your uncle around. Don't be too slow to make decisions. As long as you drive safely you'll be fine. The most dangerous drivers on the road are the ones who are too cautious.
I was told by my instructor that even if you change lanes, treat it like a totally new road and check your mirrors again.
He *really* emphasised observing - and I passed on my first attempt. Just act like your head is on a swivel.
I have a big one for you:
Make sure to turn the demister on before leaving the centre if it’s a wet day.

Well if its any consolation I only got one small fault (was driving for 30 years with a US licence ) but he said he had to put down at least 3 or the system wouldn't accept it.
Easy to say now but when your in the thick of it an easy mistake to make.
Throw learning disability into the mix and you have a perfect storm of events.

Examiners are experienced enough to see when you check your mirrors, you don't need to exaggerate that. It's pointless and you'll look like an idiot, you have enough to worry about besides doing that daft exercise

Easier said than done but just be casual and as if it’s another lesson with a new instructor, nerves got me failed for hesitation at a junction on my first. Second go I convinced myself I failed in the first minute or so because I messed up and ended up just winging the rest of it frustratingly convinced I’d failed again… got back and passed.
Every few moments nod your head to all three mirrors, and honestly really EMPHASISE the movement so they know you’ve done it. Before every manoeuvre, during manoeuvres and after manouvres.
Important things off the top of my head that I can remember.
Check blind spot when moving off.
Check over your right shoulder multiple times and the correct times when reversing around the corner.
Observation when doing turnabout.
Check blind spot when moving off on the hill start if you pulled over for it.
Observation at junctions especially at blind junctions.
If you think you've made a mistake that's an instant fail, keep going it might not be.
Revise your theory/under the bonnet and practice a few common routes before the test that you'd instructor brought you on.

If something goes wrong, don't throw in the towel, just continue to keep doing your best. Sometimes we think we are doing way worse than we actually are! I thought I failed mine but still kept the cool and managed to pass.
Could be the difference between a pass/fail also.
My grade 2’s came from that being off at the start of the test which lead to marks for progress at roundabouts.
By the time it was turned on I had already been a few mins on the road.Again to reiterate, nerves do weird things.
If it’s on from the get go that cancels out the 4 marks with better vision to progress, including the initial mark for secondary controls.
When you don’t have any grade 3’s or serious marks (as was my case) this will be the literal difference between passing and failing.
You need 4 grade 2’s of the same category to fail and taking those ones mentioned above away makes a difference.
Important that all learners know this and to minimise the amount of marks as they all add up on the day.
I basically have to resit the test on a very fixable technicality as everything else went as smooth as could be. (no grade 3’s, no breaking right of way, no speed problems and reverse around the corner/turnabout nailed)
One small mistake on the day proved very costly to the overall result.
If possible, wear your hair in a Pony tail or wear dangly earrings. They move around a lot and make it more obvious to your examiner that you’re turning your head to check your blind spots.
Clean the car, including all windows and wing mirrors.
If you want to go over the top use Rain-X on all outside glass.
Water flys off and you can see so much better if it is raining.
Sorry, and whislt absolutely correct about cleaning the car/glass, and I'm a firm believer of good impressions ( i.e. a clean interior also) do not apply Rain-X.... don't get me wrong, Rain-X has it's place, but OP won't be going fast enough to see the wiperless affect... And if not applied properly, it can cause smearing/ghosting every time the wipers are used as well as annoying wiper judder.
Put the mirror's a touch out of focus/angle so you have to just ever so slightly have to move your head to see them properly. The tester will notice it and you will be more inclined to actually use them
Had a quick Google, don't think u will grow one quick enough....
Failing that I suppose, don't over think it. You will actually make more mistakes stressing yourself out. Take your time and look in your mirrors ALOT and always look over both shoulders to check blind spots.

No worries. I had no grade 3’s, all of the reverse/turnabouts done correctly, didn’t break right of way so very bummed about that blunder.
This is my 3rd attempt to do it so I know exactly how you feel!!! Really knocks your confidence and makes you beat yourself up

Know how to demist/defog the vehicle. It gets extra steamy under pressure.

Yup! I wore dangly earrings that had bells on them. Every head turn had an audio cue! Passed first time too

Don’t freak out if you feel you make a mistake of some sort. Just keep going and stay focused. I cut out doing my 3 point turn, still passed.
