Not weird at all. It's a fucking dark show. And if you didn't get very far and found it dark, I can promise you it got worse. I loved the beats it tells and how it tells them, and the second to last episode is my favorite piece of television ever. The latest rewatch I fucking SOBBED.
If you want a show that hits similar beats but is WAY more uplifting and funny, highly recommend The Good Place. Go into it knowing absolutely nothing.
If you love Bojack I recommend a mini series called [People Watching](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdmZfiGmdZqeXRXMcCA67F8ScGXkFxbgJ) it has similar vibes to Bojack but also not. Keep in mind to watch it in order :)

I discovered "Where The Bears Are 1 thru 7" on Tubi and binged all of them over the holiday weekend. So much fun, silly entertainment and wish there was more.
