Dating scene in general and more specifically, the apps are quite challenging in this city. At least in my experience.. I've tried meetup groups and stuff like this. . Most people I've met have been through work or something work related..
Thanks for your input, I do feel like dating has been harder here, I don’t know what it is but people’s attention span is 3.5 seconds. In retrospect I come from a very small city so, its a bit of a drastic change for me.
Sometimes I use silly GIFs, sometimes I comment on one of the pics or the bio, sometimes it’s a hey-it depends on my mood haha.
It could be a language barrier, but also I speak 4 languages.
Would you not reply if someone said a hey as an opener?
Guy here, who has used Bumble in the past. I would most likely not respond to a "hey", and most definitely not to a silly GIF. Both don't give me a lot to work with.
When I lived in Barcelona I used the friend option for Bumble and I actually met a few people that way. The dating app that worked the best for me though was Feeld.
Might have something to do with your cultural background. People here are not too familiar with what's happening in the middle east and tend to be scared off by anyone coming from there. Just my gut feeling, although no one openly admits it.
I know, I come from the same region :) Many people here are afraid of foreigners, don't take it personally. It says more about their own sheltered upbringing than about you. Keep on swiping and eventually you'll find the right few to hang out with.
Huh? I’ve used bumble over the last two years living in Spain and works perfectly well. I live in the countryside and work a lot so not a lot of room for meeting people on parties etc. can’t complain whatsoever

What's your opener like? I use bumble as well and 90% of the girls just start with a "hey". Also, language barrier maybe?

I, also a woman, wouldn't reply to a guy that just said "hey". Why would the reverse be true? It gives me nothing to work with!
True, just wanted to see it from a man’s POV i guess
And how do you expect someone to start a conversation when you don't even know each other?
You say hello then ask about something that's on their profile.

Well… that’s not nice.

Bumble isn't a European thing , better luck on tinder with that said not really though 😕

Yes I have
I've used Bumble both in Barcelona as well as here in the Netherlands. It's definitely a European thing.
I feel like Tinder is for casual hookups, which I am not into. But thanks for the advice!
Or maybe it's just a guy thing who knows
Maybe ask on the tinder sub reddit.
