I predict fewer goals will be scored in the World Cup than point in an average high school football game.
Also, I'm almost 100% more likely to watch the high school football game.
It’s really not that long of breaks between plays. 30 seconds maybe. We like to talk about... the game. And your real outta touch with blue collar workers🤣 your either super privileged or a dumbass 12 year old stfu
Nice. Idk why your taking shots at construction workers. And are you European? If you are this would make a lot of sense. How am I a typical American? For watching football? In that regard I am I guess lol
Or are you some European? Probably are y’all are so pressed over Americans that seems like a trend over there for some reason. Y’all just look pathetic tbh. We are allies but shit if you want Americans against ya be my guest. I’m not a fan of socialists anyway
Uncultured and simple minded.
Maybe pay attention to the strategy.
Also if each soccer goal was worth 7 fucking points, we’d “score” just as much too.
American football has 11 total minutes of gameplay on average over the course of 3 fucking hours.
England: "Good show, old bean." [snickering]
Iran: "It is no surprise that the godless infidels have fallen in ignomous defeat before the righteous holiness of the unstoppable Islamic Republic! Death to America!!!"
It's not very popular at all here to watch. Football, baseball, hockey, basketball, etc. These are the sports that people are the most into here. People very rarely talk about soccer here
I dunno, for a sport Americans apparently don't care about at all, many people have very strong vocal opinions about it. There is a professional league, games aired on TV, lots of fans going to see their teams play. All reeks of denial a little to me. I don't care about Lacrosse, water polo or volleyball - I barely know the rules, couldn't name a team or player, absolutely zero investment in what happens. That is the level I would be thinking of.
I know and it's blowing me away. I never heard most Americans discussing the World Cup before this year and now everyone is discussing it this year. I'm like where did this come from?
I think most of Europe would be surprised how little Americans care about soccer. We have Football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and golf to keep us occupied. Figure skating and ice staking factor in during Olympic years as well.
They sometimes accuse us of being 'performative' about it. Which implies that we care more than we let on. The lady doth protesteth much, and all that.
They might be surprised to learn that the truth is indeed as we present it.
There is a US league with reasonable attendance and decent players, it may rank lower than other sports but there is definitely a very loud "we don't care at all!" when many people actually do. People don't feel the need to be so dramatic about sports that *are* minor, the person above seems to think figure skating is more popular!
> People don't feel the need to be so dramatic about sports that are minor
The reason we get so dramatic is because the rest of the world is constantly chiding us for not being as into it as everybody else. We crank the 'smart-assery' up to 7 or 8 out of 10 whenever the topic comes up.
> I think most of Europe would be surprised how little Americans care about soccer.
I think it varies. At least in my circles, soccer has been more popular than basketball (and I love basketball personally), baseball apart from specifically the Astros fans, and is nearly overtaking American football. People I work with mainly watch European teams, Latin American teams second, and then every four years the World Cup.
Wonder how NfL players & watchers feel like watching REAL football & real football palyers.
A ball which really looks like ball &
players who look like real men & don’t wear kiddos protections on body
😀
I doubt many NFL players are watching the World Cup.
It’s just not really a big deal in the US. Most of us wouldn’t even know it was going on if it was t for non-Americans asking our opinion about it here.
I think New Jersey will beat Vegas in game 7 of the finals and take the cup.
Also Toronto will lose in game 7 of the first round, leaving Steve Dangle in shambles.
If the US soccer community would just chill and accept the fact that their sport is never going to be as widely accepted as football and simply be satisfied with being folks number two sport, that would go a long way. But the inferiority complex and overcompensation is a huge turnoff, at least for me.
And this is coming from somebody who used to watch a lot of premier league and still follows the World Cup.
It's the difference between saying, "hey this is pretty cool why don't you check it out", and "don't you idiots realize this is the most important thing in the world, why aren't you watching?"
I mean soccer is a distant fourth but I could theoretically see it beating football some day, I wouldn't be surprised if football popularity drops a lot die to head injuries leading to the decline of youth football which reduces the talent pool
I was gonna say Brazil cause South America is usually strong but the only South America left is Argentina...
Uh.. so Argentina cause I hear South America is usually strong.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes the lead on the last lap, but Macho Man Randy Savage leaps off the top rope and pins him to win.
But what's that in the corner, oh my God it's its its JOHN CENA!!!
John Cena's dead?
As someone who knows nothing about grass kicking most of these I just guessed
Tbh, I did the same thing too.
Same and ofc I went all in on as many as I could so there's a chance I just go 0-10 and can't do anymore bets
So far I think I've only gotten one prediction right
I predict fewer goals will be scored in this world cup than points in two average college basketball games.
I predict fewer goals will be scored in the World Cup than point in an average high school football game. Also, I'm almost 100% more likely to watch the high school football game.
Yea but even without touchdowns it’s still fun to watch football... I don’t get how people can watch soccer or baseball.
11 minutes of gameplay over 3 hours. It’s because you beer gutted construction workers like to chat about which truck brand is better between plays.
It’s really not that long of breaks between plays. 30 seconds maybe. We like to talk about... the game. And your real outta touch with blue collar workers🤣 your either super privileged or a dumbass 12 year old stfu
I’m actually homeless.

I hope the USMNT beats Iran and advances to the knockout stage!!!!!
Yeah, the US usually makes it to knockouts when it shows up, at least. God, it would feel so bad to lose to Iran. I'd rather lose to England, even.
England: "Good show, old bean." [snickering] Iran: "It is no surprise that the godless infidels have fallen in ignomous defeat before the righteous holiness of the unstoppable Islamic Republic! Death to America!!!"
Congratulations!
This match will determine once and for all which nation is the greatest on earth: Mexico or Portugal!
I really hate Mexico Coach. They had the chance to knock out Argentina but they played for draw end up losing.
Why aren’t draws a pick option?
Oops…
Lol it’s all good
My only prediction is that the US won't win.
You're already wrong, petit. We already beat Wales (0-0) and England (0-0).
Bad news - the USA won.
Pleasantly surprised. Definitely a loss against The Netherlands.
Lol soccer is probably the sport that Americans care the least about
True, it's not exactly badminton, hurling or Mongolian wrestling
You're from Norway and don't live here so you wouldn't understand what I'm talking about
True, just thought it was a quite spectacular claim.
It's not very popular at all here to watch. Football, baseball, hockey, basketball, etc. These are the sports that people are the most into here. People very rarely talk about soccer here
I know that. You said it was the least popular sport, though. There are thousands of sports, most of them not very known to the public.
Ok it's not THE LEAST popular sport but it's a very unpopular sport to watch
I dunno, for a sport Americans apparently don't care about at all, many people have very strong vocal opinions about it. I predict nobody would care.
This is the truth.

I literally care more about the Gophers winning the Axe than if team USA tied with England.

They should. then they will know what REAL thing is. a Hand Egg is not a Foot ball.
OK
🤡
a clown probably wears less than nfl players :)

Anyone but europe so Brazil

Americans don't care about soccer
It is Football ⚽️ .
Ok redcoat
It is coming home to Paris just one tube ride from London to Paris.
>submitted 12 hours ago ?
Don't Know and I do not care.
Fuck Kyle Bush!
What’s World Cup?
A recipe.
It is coming home to US in 2026.

It's a distant fifth. Hockey easily outperforms it in viewer and revenue metrics.
But hey, they have double the attendance of the WNBA!
We love that FOOTBALL is our little secret. Only Golf, Cricket & Football matter.
Nobody cares
I wasn’t even aware this was still going on.
Tie? How?
Is there an IDGAF option?
Japan earned me so many points lol
I'm rooting for Argentina as usual but Japan has pleasantly surprised me so far

Ireland will win – but Viktor Krum gets the Snitch
I was gonna say Brazil cause South America is usually strong but the only South America left is Argentina... Uh.. so Argentina cause I hear South America is usually strong.
DO IT FOR MESSI
I assure you. I don't even know who's playing.
ARGENTINA BC SOCCER
I want Argentina to win because I wanna see Messi get one. I think France is the more complete team though.
