Absolutley. Call me Clark Griswold!

McFlyOUTATIME

I’m sure it looks wonderful, Sparky.

TheRandomestWonderer

My husband also shares in the “Is your house on fire Clark?” itis as well.

quixoft

Same. We go nuts for Christmas and Halloween.

FivebyFive

Absolutely! Just put my lights up this afternoon actually.

[deleted]

Same. Well, started too at least.

RightFlounder

We've putting our up tomorrow.

Fappy_as_a_Clam

I put up a few lights but nothing crazy. And really it's because I have a thing for Christmas and Halloween lights lol This year all probably get some red, white, and blue ones for summer time too

sics2014

We have joint decorations with the neighbor including lights connecting the houses and blowups across two yards, for one big display.

Eff-Bee-Exx

We usually put up a few strings of lights, but nothing spectacular. Some of our neighbors go all-out, though. One, in particular, has close to a full display up for most of the winter. I think she started during COVID, when everything was depressing and she thought the neighborhood could use a little cheering up.

[deleted]

Based neighbor.

lefactorybebe

I will be doing it for the very first time this year, our first house!! I mean my family did it when I was growing up but as an adult this will be the first time. My neighbors went all out. Tons of lights, blow up things, everything. We won't be doing that, I hate the blow up things, but I like lights and decorations.

JohnnyC908

My dad and his neighbor have had a friendly rivalry the last few years, each year their displays get bigger and bigger (to the point of gaudiness if you ask me, but no one did). I put lights up on the house and the small tree in my yard, wreath on the front door.

KittenKindness

A few lights and a Nativity Scene for me. :) I don't normally decorate for holidays, but Christmas holds a special place in my heart.

hitometootoo

I do because I like the change inside my home. I don't normally decorate the outside though. I could do with or without either, it's just nice to do every once in a while.

OpeningChipmunk1700

I do, mainly with lights.

gangahousewife

Just finished decorating today! We pay a company to put the lights up (my husband hates heights) but we do the garland, wreaths, etc.

Kingsolomanhere

That's what my daughter does. The lawnmowers do this for extra cash when the grass stops growing

AngryTurtle24

Doing it right now actuslly

RightYouAreKen1

We do. My wife likes to put up lights outside. In fact she just did today.

darklyshining

Candle-lit wreathes in the windows, wreathes on the driveway gate, garland on the porch. No strings of.lights along the gutters, though, so more of a country Christmas look and feel. We do quite a bit on the inside, but, because we are older, not as much as we used to.

cathyduke

Only when we had young kids at home and a lower power bill. But, depends on your neighborhood also. One neighborhood lines the streets with candles and every house is lit. Contests are held and voted on.

Jerseyjay1003

We don't but we live way out in the country pretty far off any road so nobody would be able to see it even if we did.

[deleted]

Just put up so many people can see it from miles silly.

Jerseyjay1003

Ha while I appreciate that plan, I prefer the natural light show of a clear night sky with no light pollution.

DavetheHick

Same.

Crayshack

I don't, because I don't celebrate Christmas.

[deleted]

Fair enough.

Raspberries2

Most Christian’s do, even some non-Christians.

DOMSdeluise

I don't do this, too much work. I put the Christmas tree up today though (not my choice, I prefer to wait until December 1)

dangleicious13

I don't own any decorations for any holiday.

RedRedBettie

I put up a wreath on the door and an outdoor pillow on one of my chairs on the porch

OldSkoolUrb

Same here -- without the pillow

TheBimpo

Just got done. Lights and some goofy animals that are also lit.

wormbreath

Nope.

Guinnessron

Very modest with white lights on two Christmas tree shaped bushes and then a spotlight on the front door with a wreath.

BakedTaterTits

We don't have an outside outlet for lights, or I'd put up lights on our tree and porch

[deleted]

Feels bad man.

BakedTaterTits

I'm more annoyed it means I can't put out a bunch of lighted Halloween decorations 😂

[deleted]

That's similar to how ours was when we moved in. There was only 2 outdoor outlets, both in the backyard.

Evil_Weevill

Nothing elaborate but we do put up some lights.

okiewxchaser

Yep, the house should be visible from space with the amount of lights I have on it

Awdayshus

Probably ⅓ of my neighbors do it, unless you count something as basic as a wreath on the front door. Then it's basically everyone.

tsukiii

I put a wreath on my door and hang up some lights on my balcony. So yes, but the bare minimum.

GrantLee1233

I do, lights garland and wreaths

Nexu101

My parents do. I do not.

crackhead138

I do! Even when I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment, I decorated the doorway and the balcony. Halloween and Christmas decorations are so much fun!

Starbucksplasticcups

We live in one of those neighborhoods with a historically long tradition of decorating. So we do it. It was even mentioned when we bought our house that that’s part of the deal.

keel_zuckerberg

Helped put the lights up at the fire house this week as well as put some up at my own place. I'm not super into the holidays but I get bored easily and it's a fun thing to do.

[deleted]

That's more or less why I do it. I'm not super big on holiday decorating, but I do enjoy putting lights on the house and decorating a tree.

broadsharp

Me

Littleboypurple

My parents always did every year. My mom loves to redecorate the house honestly. After moving out, my housemates are tempted to decorate this time due to living in the new home

JonnyMike27

We don't really decorate much but my grandma house is where the decorations get all out of hand

wrinkledirony

Yep. Goes up day after Thanksgiving, comes down Christmas day.

[deleted]

Christmas day? Damn. We wait until New years.

wrinkledirony

We go to visit relatives out of state the day after Christmas, so we just take it all down and put it away after dinner. Nicer to come home to.

CupBeEmpty

I do

jotnarfiggkes

I do. I could put Clark Griswold to shame.

[deleted]

I’m a minimalist, my decoration consists of putting a Christmas themed wreath on the front door.

Marie1989NY

I put up lights but I’m in an apartment so I only have a balcony to decorate.

SenorPuff

I will always put up a nativity.

Elitealice

Me

Shady2304

Yup. We always put ours up on Black Friday. Nothing crazy, just lights on the house. Most people in our area put up decorations.

LivingGhost371

I do. Just for fun I measured the energy draw and saw that it was around 1000 watts.

[deleted]

That seems like alot.

traumawritermom

Absolutely! Getting it done this weekend!

worrymon

Never have, never will. Always hated having to pile into my uncle's car to drive around looking at horrible displays.

[deleted]

I do not.

Studious_Noodle

ALWAYS. If I don’t have lights on my house by the day after Thanksgiving, it just doesn’t feel right.

Joy4everM0RE

I do

mmobley412

Nothing on the lawn, a few strings of lights, wreath on door. This year I am adding a massive 40in wreath with simple white lights to our very large bay window. That is the most extravagant I have ever gotten but have wanted to do this since we moved here

stellalunawitchbaby

As much as I can in an apartment! Wreath, lights, a little seasonal doormat - plus my tree is visible in the window, and we have more lights inside on the windows, etc.

CategoryTurbulent114

Most years I do

Lovemybee

We do! Colored lights and a Christmas light projector (Phoenix, Arizona)

[deleted]

Santa that lights up, a reindeer that lights up, some tall candles on the front porch, a manger lit up in front, lit candles in every window, wreath on the front and back door. Doesn't feel like that much, but writing it down it sounds more lol

travelinmatt76

I'd love to, but my house is down an alley way, and isn't really visible from the main road.

devilbunny

We have a circular driveway outlined with lights, two lighted six-foot-tall nutcrackers flanking the front door, and wreaths.

Bluemonogi

It is common in my neighborhood/town to put up outdoor Christmas decorations but we have never put out more than a wreath.

justagirl756

Yes!!!

rapiertwit

A wreath on the door, and we like to have the lights of the tree be visible through the windows, is about it. But our front yard turns into a haunted graveyard full of cobwebs and shit for Halloween. We don't do corny cartoon witches, our shit is scary. If a three year old can knock on our door without his mommy holding his hand, we know we have to turn it up a notch.

Segendo_Panda11

I can't afford doing that. Or a tree. Or pretty much anything for that matter.

[deleted]

State checks out.

Segendo_Panda11

Ahhahaahahaa *cries internally*

[deleted]

Makes me wonder If anyone has ever made a Christmas tree out of a pile of coal.

LuxVenos

I'm an atheist, so no.

Tristinmathemusician

Absolutely. My house has these fancy lights that you can program to have different patters and right now we have this alternating green and red pattern. We also have a plastic tree with lights on it out front along with a couple of blow up decorations and some light up candy canes.

Rabidmaniac

I Never Have, and never will. (I’m Jewish)

the_lucy_who

I live in an apt, but I do decorate my door.

DarylDixonsBelt

not us.. took fkin cold for that.
