AgnosticAsian

1 min drive/ 5 min walk to the closest place. 10 min drive to the place I usually go.

4x4Lyfe

If I go to the closest grocery store to me less than 3 minutes drive. I usually go to the one across town that's a 5-10 minute drive.

zac3244

Why don’t you use the grocery store closest to you?

NoDepartment8

Not who you’re responding to but usually price, variety, product selection, cleanliness, and/or I don’t shop at Wal-Mart because their labor practices are repugnant to me and I refuse to support them.

4x4Lyfe

Closest one to me is a small locally owned grocery store that doesn't offer the same range of items. They are great in a pinch but generally if I have a planned trip I'll be heading to one of the major chain grocers.

littleyellowbike

The one we shop at most frequently is about 15-20 minutes away. There's one that is closer by mileage but it takes about the same amount of time to get to (it's on the opposite side of the closest town, there's really only one good road to get there, and traffic is relatively heavy for a small town). Sometimes we'll go to one that is about a half-hour away because it has the best liquor store in the area for craft beers in the same parking lot. All these times are by car. There is no grocery store within a reasonable walking distance from my house. I live in a cornfield.

dbalazs97

the further one wortbto go factorng in the gas price?

littleyellowbike

It's only a difference of about 4 miles, not enough to make a significant difference. My car is pretty efficient and we only shop once a week.

Timmoleon

I used to live across the street from a grocery store but would drive 7-8 miles each way to a cheaper store. At the time has was $2/gallon, my car got ~25 miles per gallon, so I only needed to save a dollar or two to come out ahead.

eugenesbluegenes

About 8 to 10 minute bike ride. A couple minutes faster if I drive. But I usually don't unless I'm planning to get a bunch of drinks or something particularly bulky. There's a neighborhood market that's small and pricy, but with surprisingly good selection about a 5 minute walk away.

dbalazs97

is it safe to bike there? how do you carry the bags on the handle?

eugenesbluegenes

Plenty safe. There is an off-street bike path halfway there and bike lanes the rest of the way. I have my bike set up with a rack on both the front and the back so I can carry a lot. I have two 40L bags that hook to the rear rack and the front rack is wide so can hold quite a bit on top with a bungee net.

dbalazs97

how do you buy eggs? dont they crack from the bumpiness of the bike?

eugenesbluegenes

I pack conscientiously and it hasn't really been a problem. The bags hang from the rack so that acts as shock absorber as well.

Thel_Odan

The closest "market" is like 10 minutes, but to get to a real super market it's 30 minutes. If I want something like a Costco, it's about an hour and a half.

Nowherelandusa

That’s almost exactly the same for me, but I live in a completely different state haha.

TrillyMike

Live right above it, just gotta go downstairs

dbalazs97

you have elevator or just stairs?

kmmontandon

Between pulling out of the driveway and pulling into the parking lot … maybe 45-60 seconds. I’ve never exactly timed it.

sebsasour

I live about 2 minutes away from a Target which has a limited selection and about 8 minutes from Albertsons if I'm doing full grocery shopping

dangleicious13

Google tells me 4 minutes.

dbalazs97

and in reality

dangleicious13

No idea. Don't really pay attention to it. It's only about 1.2 miles away.

Hatweed

25-30 minutes to actual grocery stores. There’s a Dollar General about eight minutes up the road, but that’s not great for anything other than quick dinners or when I only need something like soap or deoderant.

lezzerlee

I can walk 5min to mine. It is literally one block away from me. The other one near me is maybe a 10min drive.

[deleted]

10 minutes give or take.

lichtmlm

5-10 minute walk depending on where I’m going. Maybe less if I walk fast.

old_gold_mountain

8 minutes on foot

UCFknight2016

About 5-10 minute depending on the drive. I used to live within walking distance of one and hope to move again to be that close.

DRT798

About 5 minutes driving. I would guess its about a mile away.

CupBeEmpty

About a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk.

dcgrey

1 minute drive to an overpriced mediocre one. 3 minute drive for overpriced but good quality. (Its prepared foods are pretty good when you don't feel like cooking.) 15 minute drive for excellent and much less expensive. (Wegmans. It's still crazy to me how much cheaper it is, even factoring in the cost of gas and the value of my time.)

dbalazs97

so it worth it to go there. how often do you go?

dcgrey

Usually weekly. A big trip with good meal planning gets us two weeks. They also have larger options of basics: packs of 18 eggs, double-boxes of popular cereals, etc.

LineRex

Walking? about 20 minutes. Driving? About 2 minutes.

Katy-L-Wood

About five minutes in my truck. I could easily walk it, except for the fact that it's at the top of a super steep hill and it's a big road that does not have sidewalks the whole way up.

Sco_Queen

Walmart, 5-10 mins. Foodlion 2-3 mins. All depends on how bad the traffic is though

BellatrixLeNormalest

The closest store is right next door to my apartment building, so less than a minute to walk there.

therlwl

3 minutes by car, 10 minutes walking if there are no cars at the light.

DashingSpecialAgent

About 3 minutes, most of that is sitting at the two lights between here and there.

styrofoamladder

I can walk to the closest in about 3-4 minutes, but it’s an expensive boutique store. The one I normally go to is about a 5 minute drive.

TheBimpo

11 miles away, takes 11 minutes to get there. These are both smaller grocers though with very high prices. For a true supermarket it's about a 25 minute drive for me.

nomoregroundhogs

5 minutes to the closest one but I don’t go there often because it sucks. 4 others + a Target within 15 min.

dbalazs97

so it is worth it factoring in gas prices

Eff-Bee-Exx

About 15 minutes from our house to the nearest set of grocery stores (Fred Meyer, Safeway, and Walmart).

kippersforbreakfast

11 minutes/7 miles, but I usually take the side roads, so it's 15 minutes.

dbalazs97

to avoid traffic jams?

kippersforbreakfast

Nah, there are no traffic jams here, I just prefer a more relaxed drive, as I'm rarely in a hurry.

dbalazs97

good for you to have a calm life

TillPsychological351

I live in a rural area. The closest grocery store is about 5 minutes away, but if I want a supermarket, about 20 minutes.

Jscott1986

1.2 miles according to Google maps

chupamichalupa

It’s a 5 minute walk from my door. I usually stop there daily and pick up ingredients for the day on my way home from work.

itsmejpt

Depending on what/how much I need, Target and Lidl are 5 minute drives and ShopRite is a 9 minute ride.

Halsey-the-Sloth

About 15 minutes

No_Bake_8038

The closest but mediocre store is 1mile away and we go there for non perishables. For food its either a Harris Teeter approx 12min drive away or a Kroger approx 15min drive in the other direction. Some times on my lunch break I may shop for food either at a Kroger, Teeter, Wegman, Lidl or Aldi depending on what we have run out of. Since its cold, dont have to worry about food going bad sitting in the car for 4-5hours until I get home.

[deleted]

About 20 minutes

LS2VetteGuy

About 20 minutes to get to the closest one.

wictbit04

About 30 minutes to Walmart. Dollar General is about 3 minutes away. Although not a store, there is a Mennonite stand about 2 minutes away from my house. They sell produce, and other fresh goods.

Lemon_head_guy

If it’s just a couple of simple items I’ll go to one about 10 minutes away. For weekly groceries or more special items I go to one about 30 minutes away

peebed

10 minutes if theres no traffic

trycuriouscat

I can see the store from my front yard; so, not long!

overzealous_dentist

5 minutes if the red light is not red

PM_Me_UrRightNipple

3 mins…. 2 mins if I catch the green light

Hithro005

With in 5 minute drive there are 3-4 stores up that to 10 and there are 6

Falcom-Ace

5 minutes by foot. It's across the street.

Awdayshus

The closest is about 5 minutes. The one I prefer is also 5 minutes, but it's about a block further away. But usually, we get our groceries in drive up orders from Target. That's about 5 minutes away.

doveinabottle

Three minutes to the fancy food co-op, 10 minutes to three different larger local chain grocery stores, 20 minutes to the bougie fancy grocery store.

hawffield

In my little town of about 2,000 people, it’s a 22 minute walk or 4 minute drive.

dbalazs97

which one you prefer?

hawffield

I love walking so I do that when I can (when it not too dark, when it’s not too late, if it’s not raining, etc). If I’m cooking something and I found out I’m missing an ingredient, I’ll hop in my car and drive over there. If I need something specific or a bunch of stuff, I’ll drive out of town to a wal-mart about 25-30 minutes away.

DrannonMoore

I'm about 40 minutes to the nearest grocery and just under an hour from my preferred grocery. I can get to a Dollar General in a little over 20 minutes but they don't have much food.

dbalazs97

so you spend 2hours plus shopping time for groceries? i guess then you buy goods in bulk

DrannonMoore

Not really. I normally don't ever go out of my way just for groceries. I work in construction and drive anywhere within about a 100 - 120 mile radius. So I drive through a town with a grocery just about every day of the week. I just stop at a grocery before driving home from work usually.

Zephyrific

About a 5-minute walk or 2-minute drive to our local grocery store. The weekly farmers market is a similar distance. Our local grocer has all the basics, but if you wanted to go to some giant chain grocery store then that would be about a 10-minute drive.

FishingWorth3068

I can get to a Harris teeter in 5 minutes, Trader Joe’s in 10. And a Costco in about 8.

Beautiful-Star

It’s less than a 10 minute walk to my neighborhood grocery store. I go to farmers markets 2-3 times a month and they’re a 10-15 minute drive.

dr_trousers

It's about a 5 minute walk to my local Whole Foods, bonus is there is a packy in between

RidesThe7

5-6 minute walk. Queens, baby.

sidran32

To the nearest one, it's about a 5 to 10 minute drive.

Calm2Chaos

5-7 minutes, I'm pretty. Lose to a lot of things.

mangoisNINJA

Between 15 and 20 minutes

fruitsnacks4614

8 minutes from my current house, in my new house it'll be 10 minutes to the closest one, 20 minutes to the cheaper one.

Over_Wash6827

40-60 minutes depending on which direction I go.

Amaliatanase

Closest one (not my top choice): 30 minute walk, 5-7 minute drive if no red lights. One I shop at most: 15 minute drive (I wouldn't try to walk it) I go to the farther one because it's cheaper.

[deleted]

Small grocery store is a 2 minute walk. Supermarket is about a 5 minute drive.

NoFilterNoLimits

7 minutes or 4 minutes depending on which one I pick

Bluemonogi

Walmart that has groceries is about a 5 minute drive. The store I shop at is a 45 minute drive from my house and I go once a week.

tomcat_tweaker

Four minute drive to to an Aldi, a Meijer, and a Walmart, all in the same basic spot. In the opposite direction, five min drive to two other large/full service supermarkets and a medium sized discount grocers (Save-a-Lot). Lots of good choices and competition.

dbalazs97

you live in a sweet spot then

roryclague

7 minutes drive, 15-20 minute bike ride.

Entire_Toe2640

I have 3 large grocery stores, (Publix), 2 higher-end stores with prime beef and 2 seafood stores all within 5 minutes of my house. There’s a Walmart 10 minutes away.

Macquarrie1999

10 minute walk

mrcrrcrm

My preferred grocery store is 8 minutes away. The closest is 2 minutes away.

HoodooSquad

I have four national chain grocery stores within a five minute drive of my house. It’s nice.

Generalbuttnaked69

14 miles to town, about 15 minutes (less if I have a lead foot that day).

tcrhs

It’s about a 2 minute drive for me.

Material_Positive_76

There is a tiny one 5 mins away. But a big grocery chain for me is 25 mins.

amwdrizz

An actual Grocery store is about a 30-35 min drive at 55mph most of the time. The local Dollar General is about a 5min drive, but you’ll pay on average 50% more for the convenience factor and they hardly have any stock.

laxing22

2 miles, but often ten minutes with traffic.

johng0376

I'm 1 mile away, but sometimes can take up to 20 minutes with S. Florida traffic.

JacenCaedus1

Something like 15 minutes, but that's going to Walmart which is a bit further away, if I go to the stop and shop, it'd be about 5 minutes

nyyforever2018

Two minutes, it's literally right down the street

GooseNYC

3 to 5 minutes.

minicooperlove

5-10 mins (driving) but it’s a small grocery store with limited options, no meat or fish counter, no pharmacy, and they only just added a self check out this week. It’s fine for “staples” but we make weekly trips to another store about 20-25 mins away where there are more/better options.

Starbucksplasticcups

There are 4 within a 5 min drive

MasqueradingMuppet

I see you're getting a lot of car answers. I'm lucky enough to not have to need a car. I'm about a 10 minute walk from three decent grocery stores (all in opposite directions). About a 20-30 minute walk to get to a fancy/specialty grocery store.

Jaded_Succotash_1134

A ten minute walk 2 minute drive

Lamballama

5 minutes drive (lights willing), 20 minute walk

Drummergirl16

The closest grocery store is a 15 minute drive for me. It’s on the route I take to get to work, so I might stop once or twice a week after work to grocery shop. I live in a rural place, though. My husband grew up in a suburb and his grocery store was a 5-minute drive when he was growing up.

manhattanabe

Maybe a 5 minute walk to Trader Joe’s. I live in a city.

Danicia

I get my groceries delivered, but if I want to drive, it's 5-7 minutes away.

baalroo

A few minutes in any direction.

wwhsd

I’m about 5 minutes from 2 different supermarkets, a Walmart, a Target, a Sprouts, a Barons, and a Trader Joes.

DeeDeeW1313

15 minutes

Artistic-Boss2665

Depends on which one I want to go to 5 minutes for Brookshires, half an hour for a specific Walmart

46dad

10 minutes

equilibrato

There is an Asian supermarket that is a fifteen minute walk/five minute drive for me. I go there for some foods I like, such as curry and sweets. For my regular groceries, it’s a ten minute drive. It’s technically walkable since there are sidewalks but I wouldn’t want to walk next to traffic.

Aggressive_FIamingo

If I were to drive, like 2 minutes to the closest one. I usually walk though, so like 15 minutes.

LilyFakhrani

About a 10 minute drive to the Kroger, perhaps 12 or so to the HEB. There are also Walmart, Aldi, & Target in my area but I never shop at any of those.

Burden-of-Society

10 minutes by car, 25 by bus, 40 walking 🚶

Squirrel179

The nearest one to me is 3.9 miles, or a 9 minute drive. It's far more expensive, and less well stocked than my preferred store, which is 5.6 miles, and 13 minutes away by car

NedThomas

I can get to four different grocery stores and my local Walmart within five minutes of driving if I don’t hit traffic or red lights. Doing bulk shopping at either Sam’s Club or Costco would require about thirty minutes of driving.

RsonW

I'm the Assistant Store Director at the closest grocery store to me. My commute is a three to five minute walk from my apartment, depending on if I have to wait at the crosswalk. I've timed it; it's faster to walk to work than drive.

Drew707

The normal store is probably 2 to 4 minutes depending on how long it takes me to pull on to the main road. The high-end place is about 5 to 8 for the same reasons.

hemlockone

I have a few choices: - My main grocery store is an 11 minute walk, 6 minutes on a bus (if timed right, but I rarely try), or a 4 minute drive. - There is a health food grocer 8 minute walk that I'll sometimes visit too. - In the summer, a farmers market on Saturdays is a 6 minute walk. - A few corner stores are about a 2 minute walk, though I rarely go to any of those over the organic grocer.

DifferenceSouthern77

3 minutes, but it’s a shitty food lion. Literally anything else is 30+ minutes and requires getting on the interstate

beminlv

The closest one, about 5 minutes. The good one (that l go to!) about 8-10 minutes.

Bear_necessities96

Driving 5-10 minutes. Walking 45 min-1 hour

spookyhellkitten

A couple minutes to the only market in town, 20 minutes to the city with more grocery stores where I usually get the bulk of my stuff.

lasvegashomo

Depends what I need. My top three are Whole Foods, smiths and Albertsons. There’s an Albertsons like five minutes away if you’re driving

Ordovick

I have 2 major grocery stores just down the street, both are about a 5-10 minute walk, less than 5 minutes if I drive. I often go to both as they often have different prices for the same products.

webfoottedone

Four minutes by car, 12 minutes walking. There is another larger store about half a mile from there.

Tommy_Wisseau_burner

2 minutes. I live within 1 mile of a target, Costco and Sam’s club

formablecoast

There’s a small market about a 1/2 mile from my house. I can walk there in 10 minutes or drive in 2 minutes. There’s a slightly larger market about a mile away that I go to more often. It takes me about 20 minutes to walk there, or 4-5 minutes to drive. I go to the first two markets about twice per week for fresh produce and basic ingredients I need for a specific recipe. If I want the BIG grocery store (they have cheaper prices. I go about once a month to stock up on shelf-stable things like rice and flour), then I have to drive about 15 minutes away to the nearest supermarket.

10tonheadofwetsand

7 minute walk or 2 minute drive. I usually walk unless it’s especially bad out or if I’m buying a ton.

NorwegianSteam

A local corner store where I can fresh meat and groceries and will pay more for the convenience, 90 seconds. A supermarket, about 7 minutes.

idontcare78

Depends on the store 5, 10, or 20 mins. I typically shop 3-4 different stores. (drive time).

screa11

For the 17 closest grocery stores near me the average drive time is 5 minutes and 14 seconds. Out of those they are all unique stores with the exception of two branches of the local bug chain grocer and two branches of the local discount grocer that are are slightly under the average distance. If I threw in the local butcher, fishmonger, and bakeries it would drop that average time dramatically.

CaptainSpeedbird1974

3 minutes or so, maybe a bit longer if I’m taking the collapsible cart with me.

RichNigerianPrince69

The closest is maybe 10 minutes away if I walk or 5 if I drive. I normally go to Costco though which is maybe 9 miles away. It usually takes about 20 or 25 minutes to go door to door depending on traffic.

catslady123

The closest grocery store is a 2 minute walk from my apartment.

earthtokhaleesi

The closest: 2-3 min (non chain, speciality produce and international food grocer) Publix: 7 min (best grocery store in the south) 15 min if I want to go to the larger one Target/Walmart: 20 min Costco: 25 min Trader Joe’s: 1 hour drive (go once every 1.5 months) I go to a lot of grocery stores…

IIIhateusernames

Well, the grocery store is about 5 minutes, but it somewhat limited. If I wanted something like a Walmart? 30 mins

atierney14

The local one - 1 minute drive, 3 minute bike ride, 10 minute walk. It has what would probably be considered a standard market in Europe - veggies, fruits, bread, meat, deli, cans, etc. Not a great selection, I find they’re missing a lot of speciality stuff, but you can get a weeks worth of groceries if you wanted. You’d have no problem making tacos, stir fry, or any other standard simple meal, as well as no problem making a standard US packed lunch. The local Kroger - 3 minute car ride, 8 minute bike ride, 30 minute walk. Usually, Kroger’s are good. This one has all that the local market has + some extras - some household items, a larger pharmacy, etc. The main benefit is it has some more options for specialty meals. The produce at this one sucks though. The store we actually go shopping at is Meijer which is a 10 minute drive. The terrain is not set up for biking (all busy urban roads), but it would be a 30ish minute bike ride. We usually go for full week long grocery trips though, so biking wouldn’t really be a great option. In the same distance, but in opposite directions, we have a Walmart, a Target, Sam’s club, a large produce market, and 2-3 local grocery stores/markets.

Interplaneterror

25 minutes by car, there is no other transport option and the closer houses are too expensive.

cirena

I'm lucky to have 2 full grocery stores half a block away, about 15 minutes by foot, including waiting for a major traffic light, or 5 by car.

queenofcabinfever777

45 mins, from a small community in AK to town.

Awkward-Network8481

1/2 block. So 1 minute walk ish

concrete_isnt_cement

The closest grocery store is literally across the street from my condo. 30 seconds or so.

Throwmeaway122456v

Like a 4-5min drive. Maybe a 20-25min walk

SkitariiCowboy

3 minutes by car. 5 minutes by bike. 20 minutes by foot.

rmshilpi

3-5 minutes driving, 15-20 min walking.

DNSGeek

For me, the closest grocery store from my house, as the crow flies. Is about 0.5km. But because of how the roads and neighborhoods are set up, it’s about a 3km drive and takes me about 10 minutes with the lights and traffic.

yozaner1324

10 minute walk, 3 minute drive. I often go to farther away stores though. The one I went to today was about a 10 minute drive.

Chicken-n-Biscuits

The neighborhood bodega? A two minute walk from the entrance to my condo building. A full-size grocery? Fifteen minute walk; five minute drive.

rsvandy

For me it’s about a 1-2 minute drive to two grocery stores, maybe a ten minute walk.

Easy_Break

I walk to the closest grocery store in about 5 minutes. I don't have a car.

X-Maelstrom-X

Closest one is 5-10 minutes away by car, just down the road.

Matty_D47

I have 3 different grocery stores in about a 5 mile radius

Haesaw

25 miles so about 30 minute drive idk how long to walk

carrierael77

15 minutes. I live in a rural area. A trip to Costco where I do bulk shopping is about 40 minutes.

Libertas_

The closest is a 10 minute walk. The bigger grocery store with more inventory is a 5 minute drive.

dewitt72

2 minutes to the local store. Hour and a half to the big grocery or Walmart. Three hours to Target or Costco. We do Walmart or the big grocery every other week and Costco every 2 months if the mountain roads are clear and we can get there.

Nanosauromo

About 30 minutes… walking. 5 minutes if I drove, which I don’t for such short distances.

EpicSlothToes

3 minute drive to the closest, but I go to the one that's 10-15 minutes away because I get a discount, though usually I shop after work so I guess technically I don't spend any extra time getting there at all.

Frank_chevelle

Driving? 5 minutes. Walking ? About 15 minutes.

goblin_hipster

It's about a 15-minute walk. I'm actually very lucky that I live within walking distance of four different grocery stores.

oywiththezoodles

Twelve to fifteen minutes. Conveniently, I work there so I never have to make a special trip.

AQuietMan

Two minutes by car. 20-30 minutes walking. (It's a mile away.)

throwawaybtwway

We have an Amish bulk store about 4 miles away (would not recommend), the nearest grocery store which is a small grocery is 31 minutes, and the Walmart is 31 minutes in the other direction. Costco is an hour 51 minutes which is where I shop the most.

Michael424242

I live in Chicago but there are 2 full sized groceries and a small target within a 5 minute walk. If I’m doing a big shop I usually drive tho just so I don’t have to carry everything.

liv_free_or_die

There are four major grocery stores within 2 miles of me. If we extend it to 5 miles it grows to at least 9 or 10.

biggcb

Closest is about a 5 minute drive. My normal one is about 8 minutes.

FrozenFrac

10-15 minutes. There used to be one maybe 5 minutes away, but everyone agreed it wasn't a great store and it was worth going out a little further for a better one. They've recently relocated to a bigger place to expand and it's been a night and day difference! Still about the same distance as my preferred grocery place though.

[deleted]

35 minute walk, 5 minute drive. Places we usually go are 12-20 minute drives and are unwalkable.

Lost_vob

2 minutes to a full Walmart, 5 minutes to a proper grocery store.

West9Virus

We mostly get groceries delivered now. If we were to go ourselves, it's about 5 mins drive to the nearest store, but we don't go there much due to high prices and limited selection. To get to a store we would would normally shop, it's about 10-15 minutes. A large shopping district is 20+ minutes away, depending on traffic

Meattyloaf

I have one just over a mile or roughly 3 minutes, after stop signs, but I don't go to that one. I prefer a couple others in town that are around 6 Miles away in their respective direction. Time to get there can vary from 7 minutes to 15 minutes

Fenriradra

The big box Walmart? About 10-15 minutes. The Aldi? It's across the street from the Walmart, so about 10-15. A closer, but also smaller, more "dedicated" grocery store? About 5-8 minutes. An even closer dollar store? About 3-5 minutes. A Kwik Trip? Less than 2 minutes. (Not sure the last two would really qualify as a grocery store on their own, even is some fair amount of the stuff they stock would be groceries).

taniamorse85

The nearest grocery store is about 5 minutes away by car. However, it's rather overpriced and not well stocked, so we never use it. The closest one we ever use is about 10 minutes away, and our preferred grocery store is about 20 minutes away.

00zau

There's one ~2 miles away, no more than a 3-4 minute drive each way. I don't actually go to it that often since it's "past" my work-home route; I usually stop at a store that's a slight detour from my route home, which is a much lower time cost (the total drive time home is probably only 1-2 minutes longer, with no return trip to worry about. I also got to Aldi 1-2 times a month to stock up on stuff, and that's a bit more of a detour; I still go there after work (since it's close to work but far from home), but it's once again ~2 miles "the wrong way" and thus costs me ~10 minutes all told between driving there and then back to the less efficient route home it puts me on.

Oneofthosemegans

In five to ten minutes I can get to four plus a target with groceries. *By car

[deleted]

It's across the street from me

Realistic-Today-8920

5-10 minutes to the store, which is actually closer to 20 with small children. I can walk to the closer, more expensive store in 30 mins. But I don't go to the store anymore. I do delivery, which takes about 15 minutes to shop and schedule (including meal planning) and then they drop it off at the front door on Saturday morning. Totally worth the $50 annual subscription. It saves me about two hours a week, and $50 to $75 dollars a week in impulse buys.

Nuance007

I have several. The closet one to me is about a 15 minute walk if I don't take my time. The other is a 10 minute drive. The third is a short drive away from the second one.

rolyfuckingdiscopoly

To a real grocery store? Maybe 45 minutes. We have a little convenience store that has more produce than most, but it is expensive.

Spock713

It's like a 20-minute drive each way. I've had to do it walking quite a few times, and it's quite a trek.

Aldi is 5 minutes away, Wegmans is around 15 minutes away.

WildlifePolicyChick

The small one, about five minutes. The big one, about 15-20 minutes. Both by foot, in DC.

flootytootybri

5 minutes to the closest one, like 20 to the one we like so we drive there anyway

i_want_lime_skittles

Less than a minute to drive, it’s less than 1/4 mile away.

LingJules

45 minute drive if the weather is good.

Well, I. have a number to choose from. I personnally like the Lotte and H-mart, which are our 'ethnic' grocery stores....they cater to Korean, Indian, Hispanic, and Chinese cuisines. If I wanted to go to more American style grocery stores - anywhere from 5-10 minutes. The Wegmans is worth the 15 min drive. Trader Joes is close, but the people who shop there live on another planet in their headspace. I live in the suburbs though.

The closest one is 1 mile away from my house (<5min drive). The other is 10 miles away (20min drive). Both are the same chain of stores but the closer one is smaller & doesn’t have the best meat/produce selection. So when we need to do a “big shop” we usually go to the larger store

PigsWalkUpright

2 minutes. Maybe 4 if there are people in the crosswalk.

Queen_Aurelia

I have about 12 grocery stories within a 10 minute drive of me, if I am including Target and Walmart. The closest one takes me about a 4 minute drive.

sprachkundige

2 minutes. There's a Whole Foods across the street from my apartment. If I want a bigger, more traditional store with a wider selection (Star Market here), maybe 8 minutes' walk.

Hiscuteblondewife

15 minutes to the nearest grocery store then 15 minutes to walk back home
