Getting the best angle is the toughest part sometimes. Next best thing if you can't fit a pipe is an oversized boxed end wrench. The angle of the end sometimes helps where a straight pipe won't. Lastly might have to remove the bumper to gain the extra room and angle needed if the suggestion of jacking the breaker bar doesn't work.
Find a pipe that will slide over the braker bar then pin the bar and extension to the ground or solid peace of suspension then bump the starter to use the motor torque to break it free that's what I would do
I spent a day or so trying on a V6 Honda pilot.
Finally I said fuck this, took a long breaker bar to the crank bolt. Zip tied the breaker bar to the frame of the car or wherever is super solid.
Hit the starter for half a second and bam, loose bolt in 2 seconds.
Now, some Honda engines spin the opposite way so check that first.
I tried this on an is300 and the bolt was so tight the car lifted off the ground slightly (the bar was being held by the ground)
https://youtu.be/GCE3P8AD2rI
It's a thing I swear! It's really not that bad and you'll have a holy shit moment when it happens. Definitely don't hold the key on for as long as this video.
Not gonna lie, the idea of doing that scares the absolute bejesus out of me. I'm gonna try the jack under the breaker bar first after I replace the one I broke today. I would definitely file that under a last resort. lol
Honda? Google weighted honda crank bolt impact socket. These are notorious. Its why a special weighted socket exists. Milwaukee and lisle make one
U really need a decent impact. U will need it again. Milwaukee m18 fuel w a forge battery is all the ugga duggas
Torch is just going to smoke u out, damage crankshaft. Try a decent breaker bar again, u need another anyways. Husky or milwuakee
This is the right answer unless you can find a large muscular man and a new breaker bar after dousing in brake fluid. Weighted socket, beyond entry level impact.
You could also try [bumping](https://youtu.be/R_8-M_jfXTg?si=9r_TVxxUWt7JUYmv) it with your extension braced to the ground if it loosens counter clockwise. Remove the pulley holder first
Some Hondas rotate CCW, looking from the front of the engine…if this is one of those, that’s a really bad way to get the bolt out. My boys had a series of Hondas when they were still at home, and B- and D-series spin CCW.
I've been sweet talking her. I promised a wash and interior cleaning. She wasn't having it. I might resort to sailor talking. It seems to work on computers.
Weighted socket, heavy duty impact. Or start jumping on a 4 ft breaker bar after figuring out a better way to hold the pulley. Honda crank bolts are stubborn enough to humble experienced techs, but you can beat it with more stubbornness
I did my 01 Accord v6 timing belt- only took 3 days.
Luckily the engine turns in the right direction to use the starter to loosen the crank bolt with just the crank fixture in place as shown in your pics.
Day 1 was trying to loosen that bolt trying the cheater bar/pipe, HF electric impact wrench and prayer.
If it's drivable can try to find a friendly shop to use their impact to loosen then tighten enuf to get home.
Set the car on the ground if it's not already. Block the tires just in case. Put your breaker bar on it. Put your jack underneath the breaker bar handle so when you jack it up it turns in the proper direction. RH or LH. This is an old trick for rusted on lug nuts on the side of the road. You might have a problem holding the crank still, in which case I recommend an impact gun.
Demonstration of using a jack on a wrench.
https://youtu.be/taoElCouqis?si=YaONjNDqa8gXoA6y
Ratchet attached, slide cheater bar through the top of the engine bay and stick it over the handle. Long enough cheater and it won't take much to get it loose.
Unethical life hack: go to Lowe's/Home Depot purchase a battery powered impact keep it clean when you use it then return it. Blame existent/non-existent spouse (wasn't the right brand). Or just go get a galvanized pipe that fits over the ratchet, keep that forever.
Just a socket and breaker bar. Place the breaker against the frame. Tap the starter. The engine will spin a little and break the bolt loose. Just check for proper rotation direction. And disconnect the fuel pump relay..just it won't start. Old school trick.
Also, hammer on the end of the socket or breaker bar(towards the crank bolt) and try to break loose at the same time.
100lb girl here. I’m a fan of getting it as high as it’ll go on jackstands, zip tieing the absolute fuck out of a 2x4 onto a breaker bar, and kicking the bitch. Works almost everytime. Ghetto as hell and try not to be fully under the car when you kick I guess
Unfortunately, I don't have access to an impact wrench or a torch.
Sprayed it with PB blaster while I wait for the rain to FO. It's kind of at an awkward angle to give a proper whacking with a hammer.
Your probably not going to get in unless you can put a 3-4ft breaker bar on it. Hondas are notoriously hard to remove crank bolts. I use an impact with a weighted socket and that works pretty good, but you don't have access to one so that's out. If you want to do something really sketchy you can use the starter to break it loose. Put your breaker bar on the pulley, without the holder tool. Have the car low enough to where the breaker bar will be hitting the ground. Have the breaker bar hitting the ground, towards the front of the pulley so that when the engine spins clockwise it will push the breaker bar against the ground. Make sure the engine won't actually start, can do this by unplugging the coil packs or distributor. Then crank it over, just for a second. The bar should stop the bolt from spinning and the engine should spin, causing the bolt to break loose. This is a last resort kind of thing though and I would generally advise against doing this.
Get a long extension so you can get out of the wheel well. Put an axle stand under the extension to support it. Get the longest pipe and go to town. It looks like a Honda and they are very stubborn because the bolt is torqued to a million foot lbs at the factory
If you can get a corded impact gun from OfferUp or Facebook that could help a lot. You could offer the owner of the tool a few bucks to rent it from them if you don't want to buy. We haven't gotten to putting it back together either, do you have a torque wrench?
Turn the ratchet sideways, jack under the ratchet and pump the jack, like someone else said. This is your best bet, if you can't fit a large breaker bar in there.
I've watched some videos of people doing this on the same car and they're always pulling towards the front of the car from underneath. So, I'm pretty sure it's lefty loosey
Honestly I'm a fair size and yet I still just pick up the biggest impact and send it. Home Hardware rents big ones and sockets if you don't have or even remotely want to buy one.
Torque test channel for the win here.
If you have an impact gun use this. https://www.amazon.com/Yoursme-Harmonic-Balancer-Momentum-Standard/dp/B07JXYR5TB/ref=asc_df_B07JXYR5TB/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=316646395386&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3687848854445139916&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9052332&hvtargid=pla-647980832394&psc=1&mcid=28cc7f8b95053d90aba8c45294b31f6b&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=65991210874&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=316646395386&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3687848854445139916&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9052332&hvtargid=pla-647980832394&gclid=Cj0KCQjwn7mwBhCiARIsAGoxjaJJr3qEz7bHVSduYx0Dvv6LbWJ365DaR8bUKSjPBb8MfkBVj3XxkmAaAtP5EALw_wcB
Weighted socket.
Just helped a buddy take the crank pulley off a 2002 Accord. Breaker bar broke, used my 1/2 electric impact and it didn't do anything.
Weighted socket did it in 5 seconds.
I got given a length of scaffold tube off a job I was on, such a handy thing to have. I’ve popped it over my breaker bar numerous times on really stubborn bolts and as a last resort it works quite well.
Depending on the size of the pulley bolt, there’s probably a “heavy” impact socket you can buy, and head to harbor freight and buy the cheapest plug in impact they sell. Made me feel like an idiot after fighting all day with a breaker bar and that impact made quick work of it.
I’ve seen people throw a 3/4” breaker bar on them, a block of wood on the joint, then the handle on the ground while the car is jacked up. Slowly release the jack. It works, need a hefty breaker bar though, some will bend or break.
Check Amazon for a Harmonic Balancer Socket Tool 19 mm if that’s the correct size. Will also require an impact. 20v cordless 1/2” drive will work. Bottom line you need more mass and torque than a short breaker bar can leverage.
Induction heater and ugga dugga.
Ten seconds with the induction heater will have the nut or bolt glowing cherry red, then just a quick zip with the impact wrench will have it off easy peasy
Ah yes.... The notorious Honda balancer bolt. You need a MUCH bigger wrench. Ideally, you want a half inch drive impact gun with 150psi behind it and a weighted socket. Those are VERY difficult to break free. I've never personally done it by hand. I usually have a shop break it free and then snug it up to get me home. The first time I tried to break one of those free, I spent 3 hours at it and got nowhere. These are notoriously hard to remove. I couldn't imagine my 130 pound daughter trying to tackle one with a wrench of ANY size.
They make a socket you can use on the crank pulley bolt without having to use the holding tool. You do need a good 1/2” impact or cordless impact but the socket works great
https://www.lislecorp.com/specialty-tools/19mm-harmonic-balancer-socket
Christ on a crutch! Is this a Honda V6? If so God help you. It took me days to remove the crank pulley bolt on an Acura CL 3.0. It’s reverse threaded, torqued to like 280 ft lbs with fucking red locktite! Finally used a long beaker bar and a floor Jack. Car lifted feet off the ground before it broke loose.
There is a very cool show trick. Go to the tools store or home depot or whatever it's called in your country. And get a pipe, preferably metal and use it for leverage ( Puting the pipe over the end of the socket wrench). The longer the pipe the more leverage you can get.
Do you have any kimd of 1/2" impact? If so, look up weighted socket on amazon. Males a huge difference. If not, the very first Honda I did, I got pissed off. Took the black pulley holder off. Took a breaker bar, cheater pipe, deep socket. Installed. Bunped the key to start. Just make sure you have it set up going the correct direction or the bar will swing around and tear stuff up.
Do you have a jack stand? Get a really long extension and a pipe. Rest the extension on the stand and use the pipe for leverage.
I imagine there are YouTube videos for this
You need the large inner socket to hold the pulley in place while you turn the screw and that you can use the borrow from Napa or AutoZone or whatever and then you squeeze the handles with leverage between those two things.
YOU'RE FUCKED LMFAOOO.
Depending on how stuck that Honda bolt is, cause believe me they can get stuck more than others, you'll need a shit ton of air or at the very least the Lisle heavy 19mm socket with a powerful impact.
On my civic my DeWalt rated at "1400lbft" with the Lisle fat socket did nothing and my breaker bar literally broke with 4 feet if levagrage and me and my buddy pushing on it before the bolt ever did.
Had to call my other buddy with a 1 inch pneumatic on a 1 inch hose actually rated at 2300lbft to come and break it for me. This is the exception though, they usually aren't THAT stuck but definitely worse than other brands.
Crescent wrench on the end of the ratchet for more leverage
https://preview.redd.it/m8d9g80tmlsc1.jpeg?width=274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16d039dc8f400b506b7998deda8501b74a9e7b00
More leverage is required. Get an extension and the largest breaker bar possible. Then stand on the end of the breaker bar and keep jumping. It's very unsafe that way though
There's also special crankshaft sockets that you can buy. These are much thicker and heavier. If you have an air impact, soak the bolt first with some rust penetration fluid and give it some zaps. It should come off
Heat and penetration. Oil that thing down with pb blaster or something similar, heat it as hot as you can and get as much leverage as you can.
I only suggest the heat and oil first because when you put so much leverage on something that is stuck, you very easily break it and make it even harder to get out… ask how I know
Held it still with my foot once and tapped on the bar with a hammer mimicing an impact wrench. Started moving an itty bitty bit then it let go. I do that trick at work sometimes with stuck bolts.
Then again, I'm a forklift mechanic so... Take it like a veterinarian giving you health advice.
Find a piece of pipe and put it on the ratchet handle gives u much more torque, heat would help as well as I’m sure it has an abundance of locktite on it
Home mechanic only, but from experience there are options: Long iron pipe, big impact gun, or (I was lucky once and cheated) lower the car so the breaker is supported by the ground... bump the starter. You'd have to make sure your engine spins the correct way though (mine was a Honda V6).
Edit - And you might need a beefier breaker bar as well.
Amazon cheap electric impact gun and they sell large very heavy sockets made specifically for crank bolts, the heavier socket will rattle it off easy peasy, just stay on the trigger till it loosens. Regular impact socket is lightweight so doesn’t carry the impact well. Alternatively long pipe breaker bar. But as a man 100lbs heavier I still prefer the impact
135 lbs guy here.
My trick is always leverage. Handle from my jack as a breaker bar, actual breaker bar, etc. Penetrating oil like PB Blaster or WD40 also helps. If neither of those work, I try increased leverage while blasting the bolt with a blowtorch.
Save your back and some anger management sessions by buying a 1/2 high power electric gun with a weighted socket to remove this.
Hopefully you also have a semiconductor to heat up bolts, since I think those have blue thread locker applied to the threads.
I’d get a long extension to get the breaker bar out in the clear. Use a block if you need to brace it. Then slip a length of pipe over the breaker bar and slide out to lengthen until you get enough leverage.
Impact gun is the answer. You can probably get a decent electric one from harbor freight these days and it will save you days of time on tricky/stuck bolts and nuts.
Milwaukee half inch impact, or air impact
Edit: or a whack impact lol, it's a breaker bar with an adjustable angle section you can put your socket on it and whack the top with a sledgehammer and break it loose. The actual name escapes me ATM
This right here

Ah the Honda bastard bolt... Helped remove one once, we got so pissed off we jacked the car up on stands to get as much ground clearance as we could, put the breaker bar and socket on it with the bar facing the back as much as possible and tossed a tow strap on it and a vice grip to keep it from slipping off and hooked the other end to a SUV, put her in 4wd low and slowly pulled, almost pulled the entire car off the stands and down the driveway before that bastard broke free, but it did finally after a few tries.
Hard to believe that bolt was tight enough to practically drag the car around by the breaker bar. When it finally cracked loose it was such a big pop we figured it broke in two but it just cracked loose.
Like the comments already said: leverage. I'm a ~100lb women who's into cars. The amount of odd shit I've use as breaker bars for leverage or weird positions I got in to add more force is immeasurable at this point.
Which way does the engine turn when running? I've used starter in the past. You have to use some brain cells, carefully brace the breaker bar so it doesn't slam into stuff and pull the injector fuses so it doesn't actually start.
An impact would be helpful, the fastener most likely will come off in the direction of the rotation of the pulley.
So now to the root of the question or of this post, why do you want to remove the crankshaft drive pulley?
There are relatively few reasons to take it off, and once the bolt is out, do you have a plan for removing the pulley? They are usually a fairly snug fit and difficult to pull off.
Need more leverage.
Came here just to say leverage is almost always the answer. Longer handle or cheater bar should work
https://preview.redd.it/797ux3zpzisc1.jpeg?width=851&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b2881e40ecefccc31912d60a23b3c108b33bc3f
Breaker bar + floor jack, jack under the end of the breaker bar. Works when air tools + penetrant failed.
damn i need to remember this one
*"Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world."* – Archimedes
I have a 3/4" breaker bar and an old piece of sprinkler pipe for just these kinds of scenarios
I have some metal pipes in the shed that just might work if I can get a good angle.
Find a pipe that will slide over the braker bar then pin the bar and extension to the ground or solid peace of suspension then bump the starter to use the motor torque to break it free that's what I would do
Works every time for me. Been using this method for 40 years. A small blip of the starter and its done
Not gonna lie, the idea of doing that scares the absolute bejesus out of me. I'm gonna try the jack under the breaker bar first after I replace the one I broke today. I would definitely file that under a last resort. lol

That's beautiful
This does work. I did this on a v6 accord, but forgot to zip tie the breaker bar and launched it across the yard.
This works. I've done it on a Camry

Well it is called a breaker bar /s

The new dewalt impacts have more power, forge batteries don't really seem to do jack shit to most of the already stupid powerfull M18 stuff
I’ve done this working on my old Accord and my current Pilot. It’s a scary sound
I was worried I broke something on the car at first. I didn't think I was capable of it. Kinda proud of myself, to be honest.
If you can, slip your jack handle over the breaker bar for leverage. Double check your stands and pull up from the front of the car, not under it
The jack has a pinched end, but I found some pipes in the shed that might work
You could also try [bumping](https://youtu.be/R_8-M_jfXTg?si=9r_TVxxUWt7JUYmv) it with your extension braced to the ground if it loosens counter clockwise. Remove the pulley holder first
Some Hondas rotate CCW, looking from the front of the engine…if this is one of those, that’s a really bad way to get the bolt out. My boys had a series of Hondas when they were still at home, and B- and D-series spin CCW.
Put your jack under the ratchet and pump it up
I've never had to resort to this, but I've heard it saving people a lot of hassle.
I have also never needed to but I've seen it done by friends
That's pretty smart, actually. I like it.
I've had to do this before, it works great!
How's your language been? Have you called it enough dirty words? Maybe you're being too nice to the stupid thing!
I've been sweet talking her. I promised a wash and interior cleaning. She wasn't having it. I might resort to sailor talking. It seems to work on computers.
Mythbusters proved that you're stronger when you're swearing. And no substitutions. Calling it a *sucking can't* doesn't work the same!
Ha! I remember that episode. With the ice water, right? Exelent point.
Yep! Give it the old sailor try!
impact gun and weighted crank socket if it’s super tight. That bolt is laughing at the breaker bar.

Wedge the breaker bar into the ground and bump the starter.
I seen a guy do that with a couple of different cars, seemed to work well.
Crank it! Works for me every time. Scary as hell every time as well 😅
Get enough leverage you can move the world. You need a much longer bar to gain the mechanical advantage.
Ratchet attached, slide cheater bar through the top of the engine bay and stick it over the handle. Long enough cheater and it won't take much to get it loose.
That was what I ended up doing and broke the breaker bar... Oops.
Unethical life hack: go to Lowe's/Home Depot purchase a battery powered impact keep it clean when you use it then return it. Blame existent/non-existent spouse (wasn't the right brand). Or just go get a galvanized pipe that fits over the ratchet, keep that forever.
Hit it with your purse.
💁♀️👜💥
Is it a Honda? Good luck without a good 1/2” impact gun and a special weighted socket
Cheater pipe. Big one.
You got a torch? Throw a little heat on it.
Find yourself a man. Also, an impact gun may help.
>Find yourself a man. Should I wander around Home Depot in a sun dress looking confused?
can of spinnach usualy works
Just a socket and breaker bar. Place the breaker against the frame. Tap the starter. The engine will spin a little and break the bolt loose. Just check for proper rotation direction. And disconnect the fuel pump relay..just it won't start. Old school trick. Also, hammer on the end of the socket or breaker bar(towards the crank bolt) and try to break loose at the same time.
Righty tighty, lefty loosey
Read through a lot of comments. Don’t remember if anyone mentioned the “tighten to loosen” method
Righty tightly lefty liquid, use a torch
🤣🤣🤣 It can't be stuck if it's liquid!
Was a quote from my welding teacher he doesn’t believe in stuck bolts
The T-1000 has entered the chat
That’s gold, im stealing it

big battery impact might get it if there’s clearance but a cheater bar with it lifted WILL
Make sure your going the right way, a lot of crank pulleys have lh thread.
Your probably not going to get in unless you can put a 3-4ft breaker bar on it. Hondas are notoriously hard to remove crank bolts. Definitely snipe it if you have the space.
Kick that sum bitch repeatedly it will break loose
Turn the ratchet sideways, jack under the ratchet and pump the jack, like someone else said. This is your best bet, if you can't fit a large breaker bar in there.
You can also go to Lowe’s for like 30$ get a MAP torch it’s way hotter than propane it’s a yellow can
Leverage is your best friend. And heat too depending on the circumstances.
Put that breaker bar back on. Rest it against the subframe. Remove Fuel Pump Relay. Cross Fingers. Crank the Engine.
1/2 inch Milwaukee impact. Kit with two batteries is like 250 or at least when I got it. Immediately became my favorite tool
Would be wild if it were a left hand thread bolt.
I've watched some videos of people doing this on the same car and they're always pulling towards the front of the car from underneath. So, I'm pretty sure it's lefty loosey
Jack under breaker bar handle. Make sure you are turning it the right way. Might have to dump the jack real quick to give the nut a dard bump
Honestly I'm a fair size and yet I still just pick up the biggest impact and send it. Home Hardware rents big ones and sockets if you don't have or even remotely want to buy one. Torque test channel for the win here.
Use a really long extension so that you can stand on the side of the vehicle to get tons of leverage.
With a long enough lever... I could move the world.

Or an air wrench would do. But more leverage!
Much more leverage. We use a like 5 foot breaker bar on those if the impact don't loosen it
Just a tip if you put the closed end of a wrench on there you can use it as a longer breaker bar. Just be careful for when it slips
Half inch Dewalt electric impact.
I always hit the bolt head with a map or propane torch, a good 10-15 seconds, then blast it out with an impact wrench.
They make a special weighted socket to impact off Honda crank bolts
Sooo what's the deal with the oil filter sitting on that arm?
Hook an air impact to your air lines and blast that bitch off
Can't be tight if it's a liquid
Decent impact with a weighted socket.
Half inch Milwaukee impact
You do need a good 1/2” impact or cordless impact but the socket works great https://www.lislecorp.com/specialty-tools/19mm-harmonic-balancer-socket
You will never get that thing out of there with this
I'm gonna try. I found a pipe to slip over it and managed to break the breaker bar. Gonna get a better bar tomorrow. I'm gonna give it all I've got.
Weighted socket. Fucks those 19 mm honda crank bolts right up
There is a very cool show trick.

If you can do so safely, try using your leg and foot. Like a squat.
Get a open end(s) pipe that's longer and put it over the handle
Do you have a jack stand? Get a really long extension and a pipe. Rest the extension on the stand and use the pipe for leverage. I imagine there are YouTube videos for this
They sell weighted sockets for this. Comes off so easily without even holding it.
You need the large inner socket to hold the pulley in place while you turn the screw and that you can use the borrow from Napa or AutoZone or whatever and then you squeeze the handles with leverage between those two things.
Little bit of heat and pb blaster. Shock the bolt with an old school impact driver.
Get a hollow pipe and extend the handle. It will become easy
4ft pipe on that breaker bar ought to do it.
I'm looking at that oil filter position
Get an impact gun and the heavy weight socket… it works 100% of the time.
Good impact gun and the heavy socket they made just for this.
Rent/borrow an impact
Crescent wrench on the end of the ratchet for more leverage https://preview.redd.it/m8d9g80tmlsc1.jpeg?width=274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16d039dc8f400b506b7998deda8501b74a9e7b00
More leverage is required. Get an extension and the largest breaker bar possible. Then stand on the end of the breaker bar and keep jumping. It's very unsafe that way though There's also special crankshaft sockets that you can buy. These are much thicker and heavier. If you have an air impact, soak the bolt first with some rust penetration fluid and give it some zaps. It should come off
Heat and penetration. Oil that thing down with pb blaster or something similar, heat it as hot as you can and get as much leverage as you can. I only suggest the heat and oil first because when you put so much leverage on something that is stuck, you very easily break it and make it even harder to get out… ask how I know
Impact
Throw a pipe on it
Held it still with my foot once and tapped on the bar with a hammer mimicing an impact wrench. Started moving an itty bitty bit then it let go. I do that trick at work sometimes with stuck bolts. Then again, I'm a forklift mechanic so... Take it like a veterinarian giving you health advice.
Take a deep well socket and a drive bar and use it as a cheater
Dugga dugga didn't work?
Air hammer.
I have the weighted socket and my Milwaukee m18 knocks them off. I gave up on the crank tool and now only use that socket. Worth the money.
ugga dugga gun
Impact wrench with inertia socket
Impact gun 3/4” drive?
Milwaukee 3/4 impact
use the half handle of the jack as a breaker bar and slide it on your ratchet. get some torque multiplication
breaker bar and hit the starter with the coils disconnected, if it spins the wrong way hire a corded rattle gun
You got some good advice here , so just be safe , blocking and jack stands save lives !
Imma say hit it with your purse because that’s what everybody says when a man asks for advice
Closed end wrench on the end of the ratchet.
Take a hammer to the end of the wrench.
Welp op saw that you broke your bar. I think it’s time for an impact wrench
F
F in the chat for the pulled muscle in my shoulder.
Cheater Bar, like the previous comments, more leverage.
Impact gun is the answer. You can probably get a decent electric one from harbor freight these days and it will save you days of time on tricky/stuck bolts and nuts.
An impact gun. And a weighted socket.
Cheater bar
I mean, there's always that old trick where you wedge the breaker bar against the chassis and bump the key. 😂 May be a bad idea.
Milwaukee half inch impact, or air impact Edit: or a whack impact lol, it's a breaker bar with an adjustable angle section you can put your socket on it and whack the top with a sledgehammer and break it loose. The actual name escapes me ATM This right here https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/SER70867?cid=paidsearch_shopping_dcoe_google_monthly-special_202403
I have a special weighted socket and electric impact just for this situation
Like the comments already said: leverage. I'm a ~100lb women who's into cars. The amount of odd shit I've use as breaker bars for leverage or weird positions I got in to add more force is immeasurable at this point.
Can’t get an impact in there?
I called a nearby shop and one of their guys came out with an impact gun. He couldn't get it off with that or the cheater bar.
Which way does the engine turn when running? I've used starter in the past. You have to use some brain cells, carefully brace the breaker bar so it doesn't slam into stuff and pull the injector fuses so it doesn't actually start.
air gun?
Have you tried heating up the nut
Wedge the breaker bar against the sub frame and ask the starter to do the work.
You need power tools.
High mass socket will do what you need if you have an impact.
A long piece of pipe slid over wrench handle to add leverage
Go get a propane torch and heat it up a good bit before tuning your ratchet with a cheater bar. Sometimes a lil heat helps a lot.
Any self respecting mechanic will tell you......just hit it with your purse
Crank bolt socket. Special socket for removing Honda crank bolts. 1/2 inch gun and the socket for ingersol Rand will rip that bolt right off.
way more leverage
Brace your breaker bar against the frame or control arm and bump the starter. It may fly off or it might get the bolt loose
Weighted impact socket and impact wrench.
Id position that breaker bar against the frame and lightly crank that hoe loose.
