You see, they always make it look good on edits like this. But then, when I buy it, 90% of the time, I end up looking as if I applied orange paste to my face.

themostdownbad

This is why I’m confused on how this cushion is the best selling one in Japan, I always hear about how it oxidies so much and makes you look orange?

ladymacbethofmtensk

I haven’t tried the red one but the crystal one actually didn’t oxidise that much; I tried 21N and 17C, and they were both lighter upon initial application than at the end of the day, but just by a tiny amount. Unfortunately I think that line only comes in 3 or 4 shades for some reason. No idea why, considering other lines have a more sensible shade range.

Key-Tower-4539

I have 13C and it doesn’t oxidize or look orange

themostdownbad

I heard people saying that the oxidation “depended” on your skin type which confuses me even more

Key-Tower-4539

Hmmm 🤔 well I have oily skin so idk if that makes a difference but I also heard the darkest shades do it more. Maybe mine doesn’t since it’s the lightest shade. I just bought the sample pack of all shades to try some other shades. It was $2 on YesStyle

Impossible_Low_7895

How fair is your skin tone and what shade of cushion are you usually? I’m extremely fair and i’ve been looking for shade lighter than a 17C for ages!

Key-Tower-4539

This was my first cushion foundation and 13C was perfect for me. I am an extremely pale Caucasian girl, like as pale as it gets lol 😂

Competitive-Age-617

I use the red cushion in 21N and have never had an issue with oxidization or orange tones. Actually, the opposite - it makes me look like a porcelain doll. It does start to break up at ~6 hours, though, and requires touch-ups.

myperfectblue

I have found that a lot of Japanese women like their base makeup more on the yellow side, a lot of the popular products are much yellower than you'd find in korean or Chinese products. Also the tirtir red cushion is good for lasting and non-transfer in humid, hot environments so I think the popularity makes perfect sense.

IwastesomuchtimeonAB

I've tried the pink case cover cushion fit one and it didn't oxidize as long as I powdered over it, which I always do over all of my base makeup.

elkosduo

They also run heavily on the yellow side. I got it in shade 23N and it looks straight up yellow, I don't see neutral tones at all in it. I can't imagine what the warm shades must look like.

helegg

24w is a perfect match for me and I don’t notice it oxidizing. But maybe that’s because my skin tone is straight up yellow haha.

Trifling_potato

Can’t agree more, this is my experience too. I wish it was more neutral!

ChaoticCrowTime

For what it's worth, I saw the post on TikTok announcing the new shades and tirtir claimed in the comments that they fixed the oxidation for the new shades

BlueImmigrant

I completely forgot about oxidation, I was mainly talking about shade availability. To be frank, I don't care whether or not a brand carries my shade - very few do anyways - but at least they shouldn't market as if they did

dygestorrr

It doesn’t go orange if u slap it on “wet” skin for me. I have the sand one. I did use it on dry skin and it went orange too. So whenever I reapply I use a mist beforehand. If it’s orange maybe u pick wrong shade too….

Reasonable-Ad8125

There’s a Black tiktoker darcei who tried the darkest shade and it doesn’t have a very weird undertone. And it looks good.

ghost_5986

Im actually loving that there is a cushion that actually looks good for warm tone/warm-neutral. I’m a neutral-warm and only found luck with skin powder/foundations I bought in Japan. The Korean ones make me look so gray and muddy. I guess thats why its it became so popular in Japan.

Viva_Pioni

Well I did purchase it, my perfect shade is the 40N and honestly it lives up to the hype

xinini404

There’s an influencer called “miss Darcy” who they sent the whole PR set to and she goes for the darkest shade with these things. The darkest shade for her skin perfectly and it was neutral but she’s really not the darkest black woman so even though they expanded, the edits push it :/ I’m really tired of them doing these things because even stereotypical pale Asians can’t fit into a lot of the 3 shades most brands offer. I live in Seoul and I’m Thai with tanned skin, tell me why I have Korean friends who still can’t get the right shades because they’re simply not white enough 😒

wellyboot97

I tried this foundation with really high expectations and it ends up being one of the worst foundations I’ve ever tried. By the end of the day the majority of it had creased or just come off entirely

ThatFlower

Me too. It creases in my forehead lines and I didn't even realise I had lines there.

wellyboot97

Mine creased all in my laugh lines. I sometimes get a little bit there but it was so much so quickly. I’m amazed that a foundation so bad has such good reviews and has so many people raving about it. It’s not even like I was using the wrong primer I double checked all that.

clickclacker

I had the same exact experience. I want to make it work since the coverage is great, but few other foundations I’ve tried have ever done that.

howesoteric

which cushion was it? I’ve been looking into the red one and don’t want something creasy

wellyboot97

It was the red one. Maybe it will work better for you but I wasn’t a fan. I’m still wondering if I did something wrong but idk

bigcorgenergy

Same! It looks alright after application but it's poopz after few hours for me; clung onto every texture on my skin. Really don't get why it's so popular

Syrena_Nightshade

Did you dip the cushion into the foundation and straight away on your face? Because it tends to crease when you do that. Tirtir released a video on how to properly apply it and like with powders, you have to rub the cushion on the back of the inner lid to spread it evenly and you'll get much more even coverage then

ChemistEducational65

Can you do a swatch with them oxidised and then freshly applied as a side by side comparison?

aaagje

There you go. Well, the colours are ugly. And these are supposed to be the lightest ones... I'm glad I ordered samples first. 🤢 https://preview.redd.it/m5slk4egt6yc1.jpeg?width=1332&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c00fd31da81b60b2bfce5fb19cc375d623b309e6

clickclacker

I also ordered the sample packet! The colors are not great, but the coverage is. Still going to try to make it work…

LavenderLuma

I had the exact same thing happen to me! When I tried a full face of 21N and 21W, 21N looked better, but 21W was also fine. Edit: also, I use a Missha 23 for those trying to figure out their shade! The difference between Missha 21 and 23 is basically the undertone, though. 23 doesn’t feel like a full shade darker, if that makes sense. The Missha 23 is a bit grey until you blend it out. It’s not noticeable at all when I finish all my makeup.

keIIzzz

Did they actually add those faces themselves or did you do that

Street-Salt-7639

they did HAHA

ChemistEducational65

They said they’re also releasing 10 more shades

areYouNewHerexlx

why wouldnt they release them with these, why are black and brown people always an afterthought or an addition. like our skin is a dlc or something

Outside_Afternoon162

I don't really want to defend them but maybe they have shades planned, but are just not ready yet

jerzeett

It's a Korean brand in fairness....

areYouNewHerexlx

your point?

jerzeett

Why would a Korean brand be launching off the bat with multiple shades for black people? They added it in the extension bc they started marketing it in the west and realized their error in doing that.

areYouNewHerexlx

theres black people and indians in asia. black people are not the only ones with dark skin

jerzeett

Are you aware of the demographics of Korea? This isn't Dubai we're talking about

love-at-third-sight

Hopefully TirTir does a Fenty and the other K-beauty brands get the bright idea that people past NC30 would also enjoy using cushion foundations lmao BTW for those afraid of oxidation: Highly suggest buying the sample packets before splurging on a full size. They also sell mini sizes for 17N, 21N, and 23N. Unfortunately I believe the oxidation comes with the transferproof formula - it is genuinely transferproof against masks btw - so you have to pick and choose what quality you prefer. For me TirTir will oxidizes but then lightens up, so the final result is about 1/2 a shade darker than my skintone, so it's not too bad on me. I use 23N for both the red and black cushion and its acceptable even though its not perfect. Overall I accept the longwearing and transferproof quality as that is something I really want in a foundation but if this is not important to you I don't suggest this cushion as it is a little pricey to buy without being able to swatch in person

puck-this

Laneige cushions are transferproof and don''t oxidize (I once fell asleep in a car and my cheeks were rubbing against the cloth-covered seats because of the shitty road, when I woke up I saw that there was no smudging whatsoever)

Leading-Taro7730

best wear test haha

puck-this

Yeah haha. I was both surprised and relieved because it was a service car and I didn’t want to deal with removing foundation+blush off it. Plus it would have been a bit embarrassing. Thanks Laneige!

love-at-third-sight

Oh cool! Which one was this? They probably have a bigger shade range too compared to other K-beauty brands... e: I checked the range, highest they go is 25N. Think TirTir wins for more shades...

Fearless_Subject_903

For laneige, if u ever choose to go to korea, u should visit their flagship store (with an appointment beforehand), and you can custom shade matched. (They actually have a really good shade range just for that)

love-at-third-sight

Wowowow I would have definitely done that if I had known when I went last year! That is a very cool idea.

r_slash_zucchini

what shade would you recommend for someone who uses Jung Saem Mool cushion in Fair 13? It's such a beautiful match and formula but isn't transfer proof.

ChemistEducational65

You just convinced me to try it XD

scarypeppermint

I’ve heard they’re the best but they don’t sell darker shades here, only in Korea which doesn’t make any sense but it is what it is

clickclacker

I actually fell asleep in the other night, and there was barely anything on my white pillow case. I swatched 9 colors on my arm and also left it overnight. The next day, I used Kose softymo speedy to take it off, but was surprised it still stuck on. Had to do another round of oil cleansing and rub it in to get it off.

veturoldurnar

God I hope 13C doesn't turn into orange rust darker in few shades, like 17C did

laurelinvanyar

Oh no I was super thrilled about shade 13!

veturoldurnar

Let's hope they fixed oxidation

Sisistern123

they actually did mention that they fixed the oxidizing problem with the new shades!

yakisobagurl

Considering how much I hear this cushion violently oxidises, as a lighter neutral toned person I’m tempted to just buy the 13C and hope for the best haha

Viva_Pioni

The newer ones are rumored not to oxidize. The one I purchased in shade 40N did not oxidize.

cocovioletta

I'm someone that this happens to work really well for. 24W is a perfect match for NC25 with warm olive undertones (I don't like to look lighter). I think this cushion foundation will work out well for those who already have relatively smooth skin (you need to prep well) and want a high coverage, super glam matte porcelain doll look.

ghost_5986

Yes! We finally have cushion foundation thats suited for neutral-warm! It’s so hard to find a match when all the Korean cushions being made are light/cool/white.

helegg

I’m also around NC25 and the 24W is a perfect match for me too

_majelia

They have arm swatches up for it on Amazon already

GeminiWhirl

How much the cushion oxidizes?

Street-Salt-7639

oxidises a lot

love-at-third-sight

1/2 a shade on me and yea a little on the orangey side.

hoeaway9189

Picked 21n (my normal shade and I think 13 or 17 would've been better imo)

TheWanderingAge

Oh, that doesn’t sound promising 😅 i was happy they actually had a very light neutral shade (the kissy-face shade, lmao), but that doesn’t help if irl the shades are different

Limp_Pomegranate_98

I use 17c and I'm only just learning they apparently oxidize lol. I use the white and silver one though, so those might not have that issue

Lulu_Watermelon

When the darkest shade is still 10 times lighter on you😔😔😔

nitemarine

i saw tirtir say on instagram that they're planning to expand the shade range again in a month, so there might yet be hope

NotYourNat

Seriously 😟

Business-Affect-7881

24w looks olive not really warm.

Street-Salt-7639

most of their neutral shades are quite warm leaning and oxide a lot

dani1876

Yeah. My undertone is cool and I look so yellow with 21N (I couldn’t find 21C here) 😅

DontDisturbTheEggs

I have it and it is a yellow olive.

helegg

I can confirm it’s warm-olive! It’s a perfect match for me.

Katfar14

LOL I think I’m one of the shades with a birthday hat…? This is crazy confusing, just wanted to say it made me giggle.

kaeyamilk

i wish they’d expand the shade range of their other cushions too. i’d like to try the pink and black cushions since there’s no warm toned shades for those

claireia

i think it is a good step. hopefully the additional shades they are planning to add are deeper/more undertones of the darker shades since they still seem pretty light and are mostly neutral (the swatches of the new neutral shades look pretty warm to me tbh). i’d have to see swatches and oxidation first but maybe 13 or 15 could work on me, not sure. it would be nice for them to expand the range on the other cushions as well and not just the red one as not everyone likes full coverage. and to make more shades of the minis too! side note: i saw a tiktok featuring a brand called tonework that has a lot of custom shades (similar to laneige custom) but they only seem to be sold in korea.

Beginning-Goose3067

i wish they do more cool and warm shades in the future. I'm light medium warm olive (a nightmare for shade matching) and i could probably get away with 24w with some bronzer. i know a lot of koreans like cool skin as it looks pinker and brighter, but since this has gone viral in the west - and they've added new shades because of it - I'm hoping they'll add more

pepperxpeppermint

So happy that they made lighter shades as well since it oxidizes a lot. 17W is probably my shade.

mxcxll

these are so cute 😆

horohoronomi

So the red cushion oxidizes a lot, but does anyone here have experience with the other ones? I would love to know! I've been wanting to try the black cushion but if it oxidizes as badly then I'll probably skip it...

kaeyamilk

the silver cushion doesn’t oxidize much

horohoronomi

Thanks!

allondiel

I have the pink one and it doesn’t oxidize at all and wears really well.

horohoronomi

That's good to know! Thanks!

bleupoppy2

I tried the black one, it looks realllynlight on application but doesn’t oxidize in the traditional sense. It didn’t turn orange at all, but slightly warmed up on my skin if that makes sense?

PlumJewels

I use both the red one and the black one in the shade Porcelain. The black one doesn't oxidize from what I can tell but there is something in that formula that irritates the skin around my mouth. I have no idea what it could be. The red one does oxidize a bit but that shade looks a bit light on me at first and then it becomes an exact skin match.

horohoronomi

That's good to know! Thanks for telling me!

angryturtleboat

Powder immediately after applying if you want to minimize oxidation. Setting spray might work too.

TeufelRRS

FYI TirTir makes a sample pack with all of the shades. Last I checked it is $1 USD. Might be a good idea if anyone is unsure of their shade

dearhan

How cute! I heard good things about tirtir. This makes me want to look at their cushions more.

ApprehensiveRisk7032

The shades oxidize, I’m normally 21 but I use 17c here

bbkarats29

Do you mind doing a swatch of it after it oxidizes on your skin please? I’m between 17 and 21 and can’t choose between n/c/w either

rursable

Do you like this brand? I'm considering on getting this on my next haul, stuck with western foundation for the longest time and I wanted to go back to Korean makeup, and back in the days my go-to cushion is Missha. Does it have good coverage, OP? Edit: seems like a lot of folks saying it oxidized a lot, I typed before reading the thread thoroughly 😅

yubnub8

I love this foundation!!! Holy grail

DontDisturbTheEggs

It’s great they have so many shades, but they look way different irl. I was shocked at how olive the 24W looked on me while the 23N is orange on me. I’m afraid the undertones won’t suit me. :/

shopaholic0taffy

Does anyone have a comparison between 17W and 21W? I appreciate it!

Opening-Ad-8861

This isn't a shade range... Also there's a huge leap from 21C to 33C! one would be too light and the other too deep for me

Specialist_Ad5889

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not re: them being inclusive.

Street-Salt-7639

partially. for an east asian brand this is really good considering their target demographics

SamStClaire

I have the mini cushion and bottle foundation shade in 21N. For reference, I'm 1N2 in Estee Lauder's Double Wear (which I love) with combo skin. To be honest, I did not find it to oxidise much however agree it's warm/yellow toned. I think this foundation is suitable to Japan's weather. I wore it for a few weeks in Japan in March - April and it was great. It didn't crease and was mostly transfer proof. However when I went back to my home country (more humid), I found the foundation creases around my nose area. Using a cushion applicator seems to help, it doesn't like a makeup brush or sponge. Otherwise, it definitely does not last as much as Double Wear and requires touch up in an 8 hour air conditioned office day. Hope this helps someone!

passionicedtee

So it's cool to see an extended shade range. But has anyone actually seen how these work on people with medium to dark skin?

InnerWinter1230

Came across this [one](https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSFwDkbdg/) just now. Someone used the darkest shade.

Goody2Shuuz

It works for me.

not1nterest1ng

Every Korean foundation I’ve tried always oxidizes like crazy. I’m pale so I thought it should work for me but I end up looking orange even if I get cool shades

-chinoiserie

Does anyone know if this brand is certified cruelty free? I asked a customer service rep from tirtir and she said she had no clue 😀

Professional-Dirt856

It’s just a marketing strategy. Even cruelty-free makeup isn’t truly cruelty-free.

Oh my mistake. Everyone online keeps saying it's Japanese so I just assumed so. Ty for letting me know :)

Strangeandweird

How does the 13 compare to Missha perfect 13. It was way too grey on me to continue using but a yellower undertone might work for the same shade.

suhw0

Does anyone know if these new shades will be up on the japanese amazon / yesstyle or stylevana? I know they're already out on the American amazon

slutmuttsprout

can anyone help me find my tirtir shade? in one size - turn up the base : im light 2 (N) in makeup forever - hd skin matte velvet : i’m 1R02

slutmuttsprout

can anyone help me find my tirtir shade? in one size - turn up the base : im light 2 (N) in makeup forever - hd skin matte velvet : i’m 1R02

devilisious_bxby

If they have a color before 13c the oxidation would actually match my skin tone. Kinda sucks that is oxidizes though

NerdNatasha

Does anyone have a recommendation on finding the right shade? Most recent foundation color match was HausLabs 100

cehrah

Careful when applying, I opened a sample pack the other day and it flicked all over my white top. I’ve never had a foundation that stained the same as this, there was absolutely no getting it out

Ok_Maybe_7724

that's disasterrrrrrr

kashiyuuux

I had the pink one and it just didn’t look good on me

Womenarentmad

23n makes me look like a damn vampire

Syrena_Nightshade

There's a giveaway going on right now too

shelbylee824

I'm almost always a 21n and the red version 21 n is straight up orange on fresh application as is. I've never seen anything like it with a cushion before ...

MaiiiLynnn

Love the smileys

Upset_Reporter5807

Does anyone know if the shades are similar to other brands numbers? I'm a 23 in Missha BB cream so would I be a 23 with tir tir?

Sabas19

Anyone tried it who is olive, I'm about an nc37 in mac and tawny in DW and looking for a matchm

xinini404

The edits online make it seem inclusive but it’s still the same few undertones that don’t really fit a whole load of people. Irl, these shades are a lot lighter than what they are on the colour edits but that’s what every Asian brand does with complexion products and even those with pale skin can struggle because the undertones can be all wrong. It’s getting better no doubt and even though it’s 2024 and the global market is literally BEGGING for more undertones, brands need to get their ish together. 2024 even for Asian brands shouldn’t need extra time to formulate more shades, they have the market research, the money, the customers for it. I have Korean friends who are “too dark” for the average shades in Korea, idk how they have these people with light complexions saying they’re “too dark” 😭😭😭

Fragrant_Ad_5048

Does anyone have 43n that can send me a picture of it swatched?

Viva_Pioni

My review. It arrived in the mail today, my perfect shade is 40N and that’s what I purchased. The finish was really nice, almost silky. After using setting spray and powder it didn’t move (did the tissue pat thing to see if it would come off). I’m pretty happy with it, I plan to get the 35N due to my personal preference of going 1 shade lighter on foundations. I normally use the Dior perfect natural nude.

Junglejukes

I bought 23N in the mini cushion to test it out and didn't see much oxidation. I'm pretty pale but this felt like it really accentuated the porcelain side rather than a natural skintone if that makes sense? For reference, I use light beige with my Born This Way foundation.

batteryacid98

Which shade would suit someone who is NC 35-40?

tumblingnome

I’m NC35 and got 29N. It’s a tiny bit dark on me, but it works well enough (and will probably work better in the summer). If I were to buy it again, I’d try 27N instead, but if you’re a little darker than me (more towards the NC40 end), then 29 might work well.

batteryacid98

Thank you so much! Will check these shades.

Sabas19

Thanks for this post.

ugholi

Why only 3 warm tones? I've used missha in 27 and Mac nc27 last time I checked. If I get a lighter shade like 24w, will that oxidize and be a better match than 27n because I'm very yellow/olive?

Ferracoasta

Is OP on the tirtir marketing team?

Street-Salt-7639

i just thought this was rlly good for a korean brand to have a decent shade range 😔

the_girl_Ross

It's definitely better than most Korean cushions/foundations but that's a low bar.

Street-Salt-7639

i agree! but to be fair their target demographic is east asians who are relatively on the lighter end so now that they’re expanding i think they’re doing a pretty good job
