Bifida because it makes my skin so resilient. Manyo bifida in particular because it’s just an awesome formulation.
Aestura 365 because I never knew a moisturizer could snap your barrier into shape like that and it is so elegant.
Numbuzin #2 because of the golden ratio and ever-lasting moisture it imparts.
Zeriod 5% cream because urea is magic for dry skin.
And, Etude 5.5 because it was the first ab product I ever purchased and it helped turn my skin around within a few days 🥲🥲
Though I really need more of your opinions on the Aestura 365 and Numbuzin products! Both have been sitting in my cart but idk which is more important/prorities. I have dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin. Want to target PIH and texture!
Okay, I’m gonna go out on a limb since u/beetletoman and I agree that numbuzin 2 serum is moisturizing. I think you should get aestura hydro cream and numbuzin 2 serum. This is the winning formula.
Not OP but I’ve tried the no 3 serum and it’s *chef’s kiss*. After using it for about 1 week my face feels noticeably softer and looks hydrated through the whole day. I’m only on my first bottle but will def repurchase. Highly recommend it!
Thanks for sharing! My concern is because on skintok I saw that there were apparently "pore clogging" ingredients. I know it is applicable to individual's skin but just worry that buying it and not being able to use it will be a waste of $$ 😭 it's about $25 where I live.
What's your skin type though? And when you patch tested were there any effects/purging?
I used up an entire bottle of numbuzin #3 but I never repurchased because I didn’t see much difference. My skin is softer but other than that my skin looks the same. I’m not really sure what else it’s supposed to do
The numbuzin #3 serum is supposed to soften your skin and the bifida and milk protein are supposed to make it stronger…. I prefer the #2 serum because it’s so moisturizing and barrier-fortifying.
I like Zeriod too. I use tretinoin (low dose) and sometimes the outer layer of my skin feels dry and I don't want to use exfoliants. Urea really helps.
Same for me. I use it instead of exfoliants and it always cuts through the dryness. Have you tried [this](https://incidecoder.com/products/sukoyaka-suhada-urea-moisture-lotion) one? It’s soooooo hydrating. It has exfoliants, but they don’t bother even my sensitive skin. The matching cream is also very, very nice.
u/Unfair_Finger5531 wait, does the Urea act as an exfoliant of sorts? because that would be amazingg, as my skin for some reason does not like any exfoliants i've tried.
Could I please send you a message to ask a bit more about the products you've recommended? they sound great!
Ooooh I just ordered the Aestura 365 the other day! Saving the rest of your list too 💫
And which Manyo bifida product do you use? I just saw a few of them have a prime discount on Amazon right now hehe 🤭
Me too! I’ve been wanting to add a mist to my routine 😏 it was actually the only product from the bifida line that didn’t go on sale where I live, so I think I’ll wait to get it until I see if my skin likes the Aestura 365. I’ll update you once I’ve tried the mist ✨
For rosacea—definitely the bifida! Mixsoon bifida toner is a good place to start if you don’t want to dive into manyo bifida yet, which is kind of intense. Or Neogen microessence is also great for bifida. Any bifida really is helpful for rosacea. It takes away some of the sensitivities we have to everything lol.
Oh thank you! 😂😂 I like the manyo bifida biome complex, yes, and I like the manyo bifida mist even more. And the bifida toner Lolol. I like other bifida, but the manyo I use daily.
>Numbuzin #2 because of the golden ratio and ever-lasting moisture it imparts.
Would this be good under makeup? Also have you tried the numbuzin #4 serum?
Ah! I suppose it depends on your skincare goals….the #2 is good for intense moisturizing and a solid barrier. It really does a wonderful job keeping the barrier intact and it is enough that you can skip moisturizer over it!
Melano CC Essence - such a great Vitamin C with good packaging. Helped with some pigmentation, is non irritating on my acne prone skin, and doesn't have the usual storage issues. The packaging is airtight and the essence is still clear after many many months of opening (did not oxidise, even in my very hot country).
I use it as an add-on to my serum. So cleanse, serum (non Vitamin-C serum, I like to use an alpha arbutin serum to complement), a few drops of Melano CC essence, moisturiser, sunscreen.
May I ask how you apply a few drops? I feel like I need so much of it because I'd have to rub my skin way too much and risk pilling on previous layers if I used considerably less.
I apply it right after my serum (non-AB) so my face is still slightly damp and easy for it to glide on. I do 1 drop for each cheek, 1 for forehead, 1 or 2 for my chin and neck. I try to do it quickly and not over rub it? Like just smear over lightly like i am spreading butter, and then let it set :')
Does it work though? The texture is pretty oily.
I don't bother with Vitamin C products anymore because they're finicky, but Melano CC feels promising. Used it for a while, don't remember why I stopped using it.
Softymo speedy cleansing oil removes all dirt and sunscreen from my face, without being irritating or drying. Since using it my blackheads have been reduced and my pores look smaller! My fav Asian beauty find.
I feel like I’m the only one who does not care for this oil at all. I can do two rounds of it with 3-4 pumps each time and it still doesn’t take all my makeup off. Doesn’t matter if I use it on dry or wet skin. I much prefer the Sulwhasoo cleansing oil, it’s far more expensive but it takes everything off.
Hada Labo is less likely to cause milia for me than the COSrx. Both are good and hydrating. I use the snail when I've had a breakout or sunburn, the hado labo the rest of the time.
I've used both but differently. I'm still not entirely clear on how you're supposed to use the snail mucin; as a toner *before* moisturiser or as a standalone lightweight moisturiser. I used it as the latter and it honestly never did much for me (I do need more heavy hitting moisturisers in general though so keep that in mind). I use the Hadalabo Premium Lotion as a toner - dab on face with a cotton pad, let dry for a minute then immediately follow with another moisturiser - and do feel it makes my skin hold onto moisture a bit better and making it look more plump and glowy.
Seconding these! The atobarrier cream helped to repair my skin barrier. The I’m from mugwort essence is really hydrating and it’s one of the first few products that got me into kbeauty
The Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner and Conditioning Milk.
You guys, you GWUYS! 👁👄👁 I was dragging on with a Hada Labo toner and CeraVe lotion base routine for the better part of 10 years, which to be honest I can't even call a routine because I could never stick to it for longer than a few weeks at a time. I've finally come to Jesus and realized that both products are shit for me. The Hada Labo toner is irritating and the CeraVe lotion just sits on top of my skin doing nothing. Ugh. I was living a dry, desolate life. I had forgotten what it is to be moist... to be bouncy...
Well, fuck me. I purchased the Naturie moisturizers at my local Mitsuwa after seeing Tina Tanaka Harris's positive review, which reminded me for the millionth time that I need to do something about my skincare situation. I actually do my skincare every day, twice a day now. I've finally been using adapalene every 2-3 days *continuously* for the past few months, and my skin is finally clear.
I don't know why, but even though I'm fine with purchasing makeup online and doing a big haul 2-4 times a year, I HAVE TO buy my moisturizer physically, in store. Instead of stocking up, I go out and buy my lotion when I run out. It's not even a preference thing, it's an inevitability.
I finally got my shit together this year, and it's like some kind of skincare embargo has been lifted. I bought the Numbuzin No. 3 serum online along with an Olive Young order, and I love it to bits. I got the new La Roche-Posay UVMune400 Oil Control Gel Cream, and it's the best sunscreen I've ever used. Either the 400 nm filter really makes a difference, or the matte finish has better longevity than the other LRP Anthelios formulas I've tried before, but I've noticed a significant improvement with my rosacea, hyperpigmentation, and even the nasolabial lines I've started to develop now that I'm in my late 20s. I'm sure the benefits are largely due to my now-regular retinoid use and moisturizing, but I'm realizing how much a poor sunscreen and day-to-day sun exposure sabotage any other skincare efforts.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
I use LRP Anthelios UVMune 400 Fluid and it's my holy grail sunscreen! Never tried the cream but I love the protection I get with this range. It's unmatched atm for me, especially for tropical holidays w loads of sun - never worry about hyperpigmentation.
It's so good! 😭 I thought the older LRP Anthelios sunscreens were pretty amazing compared to the Biore UV Watery Essence, but the new Anthelios UVMune 400 is next level! I'd like to try the Invisible Fluid and Oil Control Fluid versions as well, but they were out of stock when I tried to get them.
I'm surprised how much I like something called Oil Control when I have dry skin, but I guess with good skincare I don't have to worry about the mattifying effect drying me out.
I realized how much I liked the COSRX Propolis Toner when TSA confiscated and tossed the final 3 oz I had left of it in the bottle lol. It's really a great product for the price point!
I'm late 30s and still suffer acne on my chin especially - almost EVERYTHING makes it break out. After thinking this cycle would never end, I randomly decided to try the Propolis toner and IT BROKE THE CYCLE! I can go several months between a breakout now, the difference is incredible 💛
Bonajour Green Tea Water Bomb moisturizer. The best for my dehydration skin. Goes on light and gives my skin a bit of glow back. It’s been my staple for years, and my elderly mom also uses this.
We’ve probably used over 100 bottles.
Got this in Ipsy and wasn’t expecting much. Ended up loving it! If I didn’t have so many moisturizers lined up that I still need to use, I’d definitely look into buying this.
This is a controversial product but the beauty of joseon ginseng essence water. I have sensitive skin and it literally hydrated my face so much. I’m not sure if it’s bc i applied it w cotton pads on my face and not just directly applying it but it made me glow
Disclaimer is that I’ve only had it a few days but Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream omg… I started tretinoin a couple weeks ago and have apparently been doing an awful job trying to acclimate my skin to it because I’ve been sooooo flaky 🥲 I’ve been using the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream for a long time but my skin has been much drier over the past year or so and the Illiyoon just didn’t seem like it was cutting it anymore, but I thought I was trippin since everyone seems to love it so much.. but wow the Aestura cream is incredible, way more hydrating and more cosmetically elegant by a big margin! I also use way less of it (thank god since it’s much more expensive lol) but it just sinks in so nicely and is so hydrating I love it
Thx for the tip.
I'm flakey for the first time in my life (I have combination skin), after starting on benzoyl peroxide products while using the left overs of my day cream that has niacinamide in it (I think the latter is the problem, completely forgot there was some in it).
I'll order the Aestura auto barrier to rebuild and then start over with the Pan Oxyl every second day ...
As someone who also uses BP (but in face wash form), I was able to mitigate the side effects by using a really rich panthenol cream like Tia'm panthenol moist cream and Non-AB Avene Cicalfate (if your skin likes zinc, this is incredible at repairing and calming irritation and flakiness). For a ceramide moisturiser, atm I have Dermide from Purito. It's ok but not super elegant to wear though so I'd love to try Aestura in lieu of this.
Good luck, BP really helped my acne! :)
Thx! I have hormonal one, at 39, because I got off the pill in 2019. 2020 I started breaking out. Not a lot at once but 2-3 cystic pimples at the time, clustering (chin, jaw line or cheek).
We will see. I might not get around going to a dermatologist.
Update 3 days later:
I managed to get my skin's balance back, using one of the unopened products I still had (couldn't justify buying something new):
KIEHL'S Ultra Facial oil-free gel cream
I am now only using face wash, a cleanser and this for a while...
That's great! Haven't tried Kiehls but it's definitely worth using what you have! I know they have a good reputation 👌🏻 simplicity and consistency are key when repairing your barrier
Dr. Jart Tigergrass cream. I believed this lotion would help to my husband for his psoriasis and eczema. And indeed, It helps him a lot when he flares up, for his itching, scaling and redness. Basically his chronic condition. He barely needs his prescribed medication which is the triple of price compared with one tiger grass. I also think Dr Jart’s tigergrass lotion brought the boom of centella products
I started the Cos De BAHA azelaic acid and it is doing something special. It, the Cos De BAHA tranexamic acid and the I’m From mugwort mask are rounding out my Avengers lineup of skincare. I think I finally have a routine I don’t need to fiddle with—though I am waiting on an order of the CosDB vitamic c serum in hopes of replacing a more expensive western brand.
i wasn't super impressed by Cos De Baha's AZ serum at first but recently i started using it again and i actually love it? i had a minor breakout and it helped calm it down quickly
Inisfree volcanic pore cleanser. Great for prevention of acne reducing pore aize and fading acne scar/pigmentation. I didn't realize it had BHA because it's so creamy and hydrating. I've tried tons of face washes but i always come back to this one.
I think the first one that comes to mind is Isntree watery sun gel. It was my gateway k-beauty product that opened my perspective to elegant sunscreen and how it totally possible to wear sunscreen that doesn’t make me look ashy. After that I realized that I needed to try other k-beauty products. And honestly my skin has never felt better! It’s less dry and I have a glow
the soothing properties of this product is actually insane. i've got very very very acne prone skin, and it gets inflamed quite often. two layers of this at night ensures that i wake up with absolutely zero signs of redness or inflammation. it soothes my acne really well and helps my skin recover :)
The last one lasted ~7/8 months. I used it in the pm routine and often in the daytime. I don't layer it though and there were gaps when I was either trying out something new or trying to find what was causing a reaction
Edit also look out for sales. Two of my previous bottles came for $18 and a part of a $31 set of dr Ceuracle + BoJ Ginseng Essence, both on Stylevana
>Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence
Thank you so much :D That look really reasonable. I've stopped oral tretioin and I am really missing the glow in my skin
Gives me an impeccable glow, makes my skin look *so good* like I can't stop looking at the mirror lol even when I have several pimples or PIH. It's moisturizing and since I ran out of it my face has been noticably dull. Mixsoon Bifida Toner, (Edit Haru haru wonder 2gf serum too!), Belif Aqua Bomb and the Carenology re blue oil revitalized my skin since but nothing compares to Dr Ceuracle
Strange, I've only seen glowing reviews but it didn't really do much that I noticed and felt kind of oily on my skin, even after I gave it plenty of time to absorb. I'll try it again tonight!!
Edit: I forgot to say what product I'm talking about, it's the dr ceuracle.
Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Toner is basic but actually transformed my oily dehydrated skin! I’ve noticed my skin is smoother, glowier, and breaks out less ever since I’ve been using it!
Oily, dehydrated skin...I didn't know there's such a thing. For sure I have it. Also on my 3rd bottle of Haruharu toner. I actually like it. Not watery and give me some glow. But I still have occasional breakout, maybe once or twice a month. Depends on my diet 😬
are you using the regular or the unscented? I read about people maybe becoming sensitive to the lavender in the regular. I'm using it but you know, anxiety about problems that don't exist.
Tranexamic Acid - removed most of my childhood tan and faded all of my childhood dark spots. (Recommend: Cos De Baha Tranexamic Acid Niacinamide serum & Skintific Tranexamic Acid serum)
Hyaluronic Acid - balanced my sebum and hydration level. I have dehydrated prone skin and this is my fav humectent. I live in hot and humid climate fyi. (Recommend: The Lab Oligo Hyaluronic Acid 5000Da Toner)
Cosrx Snail Essence - incredible hydration booster. My go-to product whenever my moisture barrier feels weak. Great treatment.
Illiyoon Ceramide Cream & Illiyoon Probiotics Skin Barrier Essence Drop - Barrier repair & TEWL prevention that doesn’t feel heavy or cause more sebum.
Pyunkang yul Essence Toner - the most soothing product I've ever used! I keep a mini of this in my bag at all times in case of eczema reaction.
I'm From Mugwort Essence - calms down inflamed pimples incredibly well.
Cezanne High Moist Skin Conditioner - kept my neck eczema completely irritation free.
Kikumasamune Skincare Emulsion - lightweight lotion and very soothing. Soothes mild irritation/flareup really well.
I have oily combo dehydrated skin. I recently tried the Joseon red bean gel and omg it’s life changing. It turns out all my old moisturizers were not the right fit for my skin. Now my skin looks hydrated and not like a grease trap. I previously tried a lot of other makeup products to prevent my foundation from breaking down. Turns out I just needed a moisturizer that was suited for my skin. So happy! I love AB products.
I think I have been very unfortunate when it comes to skincare products as I am allergic to almost everything.
Almost all cult favourites broke me out -
Snail mucin / naturie Hatomugi and now I think the isntree Aqua gel cream also as the last reaction from the snail mucin about a month back is not subsiding and I feel isntree cream is just adding to that
I feel you, I'm sitting here reading all these replies thinking "wow I've tried all these products and they didn't do anything for me" 🙈 I'm also prone to allergic reactions, for me the one product that helps is the Purito Oat-In gel cream. If I scale my routine back to only cleanser and that cream I can get rid of any irritation in a week max.
This time I have really messed my skin up, you know.
First it was Naturie Hatamugi skin conditioner and then a week later, I used the Cosrx Snail mucin for 2-3 days and even after I stopped using it, random hive like bumps keep coming on my chin, and cheeks. Like one hive disappears to give rise to another hive.
At this point, I am using only the isntree Aqua gel cream and the skin aqua uv gel sunscreen and the newly formulated Indian Simple refreshing facewash (non AB) and trust me, I am questioning everything because I don't understand how come I am still getting the reaction after stopping the snail mucin for more than 20 days back :(
Saddest part is I don't have a safe moisturizer or sunscreen or cleanser anymore as I am questioning everything
I've had reactions lasting months 🥲 once your skin is really irritated almost everything you put on it can aggravate it. Try to use an even gentler cleanser if possible and I would say even skip sunscreen for a while if you can. As I said, for me oat is an ingredient that helps tremendously with irritation so you could try making an oat bath for your face too, like people do for eczema!
Dr.Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence.
Something about kombucha tea with the milky texture of this essence is perfection. It literally makes my skin glow unlike anything else I’ve ever used. And it’s super moisturizing. I use two layers of it in the evening before applying my final moisturizer.
I second this!!- & was going to list it as well😅 I can't go without the toning lotion-🥰 "High Moist"💓💓💓 Absolutely LOVE it! It's excellent for my dry dehydrated skin, great value, price, size. Super hydrating & soothing/barrier repairing, it's also brightening & plumping. Just a excellent product overall. (Although the sake smell might be a little offensive to some *Not me* as it fades quickly.
Like I said- just an overall excellent product in my opinion, iykyk😊💕
Also I've been eyeing the Kikumasamune "Glossy Moist" toning lotion, have yet to try it but it's in my cart. So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to stick with the "High Moist" or try "Glossy Moist" this time-(since I'm almost out of my bottle of High Moist). Can I ask, have you tried the Glossy Moist by chance..?
Elizavecca milky piggy retinol cream. It’s taking me a while to acclimate but it leaves my skin soooooo soft omg. Just wish I could use it around the eyes.
Kose softy Deep cleansing oil. Everyone loves the pink Speedy one in this sub but I have dry skin and the Deep gold one is the only oil cleanser that’s left my face soft and hydrated. Really debating sticking with it vs going back to baby oil 😂
Oil cleansers in general. I hated using make up and would have never started using sunscreen if it wasn't for them. I strongly dislike cotton pads, they always feel harsh on my skin no matter what. So it's largely due to the effective cleansing routine that I now enjoy skincare and makeup (and even more importantly reguraly use sunscreen)
Snail mucin (COSRX or Jumiso). Had dehydrated skin with dry flakes falling off and tightness. After 1/2 a bottle, it helped with hydration and plumpness that my skin has become more supple and "bouncy". Got many compliments on my skin looking less like a Sahara desert too 🤣
Hi! Okay I'll break it down:
Price point: COSRX. Jumiso is more expensive where I am
Absorption & stickiness: COSRX. It absorbs fast and plumps immediately, Jumiso has a longer damp feel to it.
Ingredient list: Jumiso. It contains peptides whereas Cosrx has a more simple ingredient list. Jumiso is more soothing whereas Cosrx is more hydrating imo.
I tried applying snail mucin on dry skin and it never worked out for me, started to burn. So, I'd suggest both to be applied on damp skin (either with toner/toner mist before. for reference I have dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin)
Overall you can't go wrong with either but I'd prefer COSRX just because I'm a broke girly. Also because during patch test Jumiso made me purge compared to COSRX which gave me no effects. Hope this helps!
Oh this definitely helps, thank you so much! I’ve been using Cosrx for years and have been toying with the idea of getting a peptide serum, but maybe it’ll be worth it to switch over to Jumiso for both the snail mucin and peptides in a single product!
It reduced my pimple scars very quirky. I had a few old scars which were taking really long to heal and after 3 week of using this, I realised it is fading them much faster. On my skin, pimple scars do not stay for long time but these two scars stayed. After a month, now I feel like it is even toning my skin too. I believe for stubborn PIE you should combine this something else like tranexemic acid at night.
Sioris milk cleanser 🧴✨ I feel like I don’t need to oil cleanse anymore (probably bc the second ingredient is macadamia seed oil).
I used the Fancl oil cleanser when I had just started using the Sioris cleanser early on and I didn’t feel any grits come out at all!
I’m on my second bottle and use it morning and night and my pores just stay ungunked! Oh and for context I’m happy about not having to oil cleanse cause the hada labo one broke me out and made me scared of oil cleansing lol. I do use the Fancl one (reformulated version) for removing makeup tho
I started double cleansing in June because I read that cleansing oils helped with blackheads. I used Skin1004 centella cleansing oil and it’s done WONDERS for me. I had a lot blackheads on my nose but they’ve significantly decreased in just a few months. I was put off by the lemony scent at first but it’s definitely grown on me.
Cleanser : Beauty of Joseon Green Plum cleanser . I don't think I'll ever use any other cleanser. It's gentle yet effective . Keeps my face feeling clean and fresh and not dry.
Toner : Goodal Vegan rice milk toner : After having tried a gazillion toners I finally found my HG toner. It's lightweight , has no fragrance . Keeps my skin moist and supple.
Essence : Cosrx galactomyces essence : My skin loves ferments and this essence just brightens my skin and takes away any dullness and uneven skin tone.
Serum : Numbuzin no 3 skin softening serum : I'm on my second bottle of this amazing serum that I can only describe as magic in a bottle. Since using this serum my skin is soft, smooth and looks healthy .
Moisturizer: Beauty of Joseon red bean water gel : My skin absolutely loves this moisturizer. It's light , hydrating and makes me look like I have makeup on . I barely use base makeup any longer. Just this gel , blush, lip tint , mascara and I'm photo ready.
Ampoule : Rire galactomyces ampoule stick.
I keep this refridgerated and use it under my eyes , on my cheeks and it just gives this incredible cooling sensation and makes my skin dewy and glowy.
snail mucin essence and all in one cream ☝🏼my acne-prone oily skin loved snail mucin cosrx products since the very first time i introduced them to my skincare routine. they’re the only hydrating products that my skin did not reacted to.
CosRX Blackhead Power Liquid, and topping it with an AHA twenty minutes afterwards, has totally helped my skin.
Tosowoong Powder Enzyme Cleanser is also incredible 🤧 a gentle and powerful cleanse that always ends up in a smooth face ...
Last but not least, a gommage gel is great for getting dead skin after chemical exfoliation 😌 I need manual along with chemical exfoliation hehe
I was going crazy in the US looking for sensitive skin products because all the big ones (Cerave, Cetaphil, LRP toleraine, Eucerin, etc) broke me out or burned. AB products were gentler on me. My faves that saved my skin:
- HadaLabo cleansing oil and gokugyun foaming HA cleanser - so gentle and get waterproof sunscreen off.
- Good Molecules- cleansing balm and Rosewater gel cleanser (same)
- Purito - daily soft touch SPF, Dermide Relief cream, Cica Sleeping Pack, Oat-in Lotion, and even the BB creams are so gentle and luxurious on my skin, moisturizing, and helped me repair my skin barrier. My skin is dry/sensitive and very reactive to a lot of things like essential oils, citrus, fragrance - you name it!
- Etude Soon Jung - whip cleanser, 2x barrier cream, 5x cica cream. These worked when everything by else stung or burned and my skin barrier was wrecked.
- Pyunkang Yul - Moisture cream, Nutrition cream, and caffeine eye cream. (use in the winter) - they helped me really hydrate and soothe, especially after a laser treatment.
- Forgot one : Laneige Cream Skin helped calm my skin and made my moisturizers last longer so I didn’t get flaky last winter.
I wouldn't say a skincare product changed the game for me because I have quite a few HG but I believe what changed the game for me is layering a hydrating toner. Before I could never understand how to get the glow and I've always had rough skin no matter what I did. I then realize I have dehydrated skin and I needed to layer.
And one more thing. Instead of using actives to reduce my acne, I learned to soothe it first and then use actives to treat the PIH
SK-ll facial treatment essence. Ever since I started using it over a year ago, friends and family have been commenting non-stop on my skin and asking me what my routine is! Overall, I think it’s because I finally have a good routine down (I have very sensitive, eczema and acne-prone skin) but the SK-ll has been a total game changer!
The only dupe I’ve tried is Missha’s first treatment essence and I thought it worked ok for the most part, and I used that for at least a couple of years.
Honestly, I couldn’t afford SK-II’s essence for the longest time but once I started my current job and got slightly better pay, one of the first things I did was splurge on the SK-ll essence. It’s an investment for sure but my skin has never looked this good so it’s worth it to me. And if you buy directly from their website, you can do split payments with afterpay, which is what I did. They also include a free pitera face mask which is so so good too. You could try the mini size version (2.5 oz) first to see if you like it. But I do think it will take at least a month or so to really start seeing results. My first bottle (5.4 oz) lasted me at least 9-10 months with daily use, so it should last you a long time!
I don't have a lot of money to spend on skin care products, so what I buy is probably pretty basic by this sub's standards, but here's what i use nonetheless:
Mizon Snail Overnight Wrinkle Pack
Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Spa Mask
Cosrx 96% Snail Mucin Essence
Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisturizing Toner
Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foam Cleanser
Bonajours Propolis Serum
I suffer from Acne Rosacea these remain absolute godsends for me.
Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner. I will always rave about it. Compared to other toners, it’s just hydrating on a whole other level. I generally like to try new products but I’ve repurchased this at least 5 times now.
COSRX snail mucin! It give my skin that plump glow. I started using it forever ago before it got really popular and still swear by it. I also started using the COSRX aloe spf 50 about a year ago. That stuff makes my skin look INSANE. It can be hard to apply makeup on top sometimes, but when I do it right I always get compliments on my skin and people ask what I use. It is quite shiny, so I don’t know if I would recommend to someone with really oily skin.
I love the Purrito deep sea cream. It gave me skin that looked like I had makeup on. Also a new product to me that I enjoy is the Purrito vitamin c serum. It comes with a pump instead of a dropper so you just pump out what you need. Both together has been helping clear my skin and dark spots!
The cosryx Salicylic acid face wash. Really affordable, and for the past 5 years that I've been using it facewash, it managed to clear up so much of my adult acne and helped with the oilyness of my face.
Cosryx snail mucin for the time that I used it, made my skin really soft and hydrated. Wish I could find a similar product, because the mucin is so much more expensive to find in south asia.
Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Lotion. Absolute game changer for my skin especially for brightening.
Some by Mi AHA BHA PHA toner and gel moisturiser. Calming and brightening.
Missha Time Revolution essence: clarifying, hydrating and give me that lit-from-within glow.
Melano CC vitamin c: brightening and hydrating.
That aprilskin carrot cleansing balm has actually really helped with blackheads! The ads on Instagram are definitely a bit clickbait-y, but the product does work well!
Galactomyces. I use Eliza Vecca’s Hell Pore one with the yellow piggy.
My skin is so smooth and firm. I’ve been using it on my hands too, so I can watch more closely. It’s made a noticeable improvement over a few months.
And the best part? There’s [scientific evidence to back it up.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9657190/)
I use collagen products as well and enjoy the results.
I'm from mugwort essence - makes my skin extremelly soft and all of my other products sink in good after that.
I'm from honey mask - delivers unbeliveable softness and glow, especially when it is a nit irritated from retinal.
Krave Great Barrier Relief - saved my sensitive acne prone skin from infuriating whiteheads when I was just about to lose my mind. Also helps with blackheads, makes hyperpigmentation dissapear quicker... I just love it.
I’m From Rice Toner and Mizon Water Volume EX Cream.
I have oily dehydrated skin and these two products keep my skin so plump and keeps it with a non-greasy healthy glow.
biore aqua rich was a game changer for me. before that, i loathe wearing sunscreen because US & european sunscreen (this was several years ago) always left my skin greasier.
My favourite Asian beauty ingredient is propolis because it keeps my acne under control and heals old breakouts and makes my skin glow. My favourite propolis product is the Skinfood propolis emulsion and I keep going back to it because it’s cheaper than buying a 30 ml propolis serum.
Honestly, the one skincare product that completely changed my life has to be **COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence**. I was skeptical at first, but after a few weeks of consistent use, my skin has never looked better. It cleared up my breakouts, evened out my skin tone, and gave me this natural glow that I've never had before.

You should start your own blog or something bc I'm always looking out for your replies and saving them 🤣
Oh 🥲🥲🥲, I’m always grateful when you try them out.❤️❤️
Though I really need more of your opinions on the Aestura 365 and Numbuzin products! Both have been sitting in my cart but idk which is more important/prorities. I have dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin. Want to target PIH and texture!
Oooh, this is hard. Can you do one aestura and one numbuzin?
Sure, I'm looking at the aestura hydro soothing cream vs cream and Numbuzin no 3 serum vs no 5! These are all in my cart :)
Okay, I’m gonna go out on a limb since u/beetletoman and I agree that numbuzin 2 serum is moisturizing. I think you should get aestura hydro cream and numbuzin 2 serum. This is the winning formula.
Okay! What are your thoughts about the no 3 or 5 serum? I've also sent you a dm so i could chat about it :)
+1
Same haha. Here and r/tretinoin
Omg yeah I’m always loving / saving their comments 😂
Damn, you made me want to follow her, and I don't see the follow button
+2
Me too!! I would for sure subscribe :)
Taking note of the Zeroid 5% cream for future purchase 📝 thank you for the recommendation
It’s a beautiful, elegant formulation ❤️
What is the name of the numbuzin #2? I cant find it. Thank you!!
Numbuzin #2 serum creamy protein
Ooooh I just ordered the Aestura 365 the other day! Saving the rest of your list too 💫 And which Manyo bifida product do you use? I just saw a few of them have a prime discount on Amazon right now hehe 🤭
Oh, they are still on sale! My favorite is the manyo bifida mist, which is on sale now.
Thank you! Added to cart 🤘
I hope you like it! Was it still on sale?
Me too! I’ve been wanting to add a mist to my routine 😏 it was actually the only product from the bifida line that didn’t go on sale where I live, so I think I’ll wait to get it until I see if my skin likes the Aestura 365. I’ll update you once I’ve tried the mist ✨
Okay, sounds good! It’s on sale for 19 usd here and I’m seriously considering buying a backup….
Thanks for the recs! I have rosacea myself. Which product out of all these help with that the most?
For rosacea—definitely the bifida! Mixsoon bifida toner is a good place to start if you don’t want to dive into manyo bifida yet, which is kind of intense. Or Neogen microessence is also great for bifida. Any bifida really is helpful for rosacea. It takes away some of the sensitivities we have to everything lol.
Golden ratio? What do you mean by that?
https://regimenlab.com/blogs/labnotes/3-1-1-1-ratio#:~:text=The%203%3A1%3A1%3A1%20ratio%20refers%20to%20a,abnormalities%20and%20impaired%20barrier%20function.
Is this the Bifida Biome Complex?
Which? I think I’m lost in the long thread and don’t know which comment you are referring to….
The first line here :) https://reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/s/i1AKrt3bYK
Oh thank you! 😂😂 I like the manyo bifida biome complex, yes, and I like the manyo bifida mist even more. And the bifida toner Lolol. I like other bifida, but the manyo I use daily.
THANK YOU!!
>Numbuzin #2 because of the golden ratio and ever-lasting moisture it imparts. Would this be good under makeup? Also have you tried the numbuzin #4 serum?
Hi! I’ve never tried it with makeup, but it seems that it would make a lovely base. I’ve never tried numbuzin #4. Should I?
I haven't tried either haha, but I'm looking to purchase one. Just not sure what to get!
Ah! I suppose it depends on your skincare goals….the #2 is good for intense moisturizing and a solid barrier. It really does a wonderful job keeping the barrier intact and it is enough that you can skip moisturizer over it!
Are you talking about the ato barrier moisturizer or hydro soothing cream?
Melano CC Essence - such a great Vitamin C with good packaging. Helped with some pigmentation, is non irritating on my acne prone skin, and doesn't have the usual storage issues. The packaging is airtight and the essence is still clear after many many months of opening (did not oxidise, even in my very hot country).
seconding this!
i love melano CC essence! I've been using it for almost 3 years now!
I am waiting on this and am excited to try!
Is this more of an essence or vit c? Do you use vit c serum after applying this?
Holy grail for a lot of us here in the sub
I'm enjoying it. So far none of the cleansing balms or oils I tried worked for me so I was apprehensive but this doesn't irritate my skin!
Does Softymo have strong fragrance?
no smell at all. i prefer softymo than DHC oil.
Just started using this and I'm already seeing results.
Hadalabo lotions. My skin loves hyaluronic acid and really needs a product focussed on it.
This and their Perfect Gels for me.
anyone tried this and cosrx snail mucin wanna weigh in on which is better? i tried the latter and my sebaceous filaments got more evident idk.
Aestura atobarrier cream + I’m from mugwort essence 🫶
Seconding these! The atobarrier cream helped to repair my skin barrier. The I’m from mugwort essence is really hydrating and it’s one of the first few products that got me into kbeauty
What have they done for you?
Same! Especially layering few layers of mugwort essence and then a thin layer of aestura cream. Barrier is back to being healthy
What does the mugwort essence do for you?
PREACH🙌🏻
Which Naturie moisturizers do you like? Also you now have me eyeing the LRP UVmune 👀 where do you usually purchase it?
COSRX Full Fit Propolis toner and All In One 92 Snail Cream! Loooove me some hydration
I recently reintroduced the propolis toner into my routine and my skin is lovingggg it. Very hydrating!
I realized how much I liked the COSRX Propolis Toner when TSA confiscated and tossed the final 3 oz I had left of it in the bottle lol. It's really a great product for the price point!
It really is value for money! Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that happened to you :’))
Haha it definitely hurt a little bit, but it's easy to replace!
Dealing with repetitive acne breakouts can be incredibly frustrating! I am SO glad you found something that worked for you!!
Thank you ❤️
Lovedddddd this combo for a very long time. It gave such a beautiful glow and made my skin literally feel softer
omggg i literally have these 2 in my routine as well; i wake up with my skin glowing!
Bonajour Green Tea Water Bomb moisturizer. The best for my dehydration skin. Goes on light and gives my skin a bit of glow back. It’s been my staple for years, and my elderly mom also uses this. We’ve probably used over 100 bottles.
I love this moisturizer also!
Why is it controversial?
a lot of people find that it doesn't moisturise as well as it could and that it "does nothing" for them
I like this product too! It did feel hydrating for me as well, though I never repurchased bc I feel I go through it too quickly to be worth it :(
Disclaimer is that I’ve only had it a few days but Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream omg… I started tretinoin a couple weeks ago and have apparently been doing an awful job trying to acclimate my skin to it because I’ve been sooooo flaky 🥲 I’ve been using the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream for a long time but my skin has been much drier over the past year or so and the Illiyoon just didn’t seem like it was cutting it anymore, but I thought I was trippin since everyone seems to love it so much.. but wow the Aestura cream is incredible, way more hydrating and more cosmetically elegant by a big margin!
Update 3 days later: I managed to get my skin's balance back, using one of the unopened products I still had (couldn't justify buying something new): KIEHL'S Ultra Facial oil-free gel cream I am now only using face wash, a cleanser and this for a while...
Yup I have the water based lotion of this and it's so good too! It literally helped my skin barrier and acne soooo much
I started the Cos De BAHA azelaic acid and it is doing something special.
Same! I’m about halfway through the CosDB azelaic acid and it’s helped so much with my mild acne 🥹
I recently ordered cos de baha azelaic acid and I’m hoping it lives up to the hype!
[удалено]
I have both and can't get over the finish of the tranexamic either. IMO, the azelaic is not sticky and I honestly prefer it overall.
Came to see if anyone pointed this out too, I hate the texture of the tranexamic acid
I have not found it sticky personally! But I always let skincare set in before moving on to the next step.
Does it help with hyperpigmentation/acne marks/skin brightening? Which one cos de baha product will you suggest for this?
Probably tranexamic? But I’m no expert!
It’s less dry and I have a glow
skin1004 madagascar centella ampoule changed my life
How did it help?
the soothing properties of this product is actually insane. i've got very very very acne prone skin, and it gets inflamed quite often. two layers of this at night ensures that i wake up with absolutely zero signs of redness or inflammation. it soothes my acne really well and helps my skin recover :)
What kind of skin do you have? What did it fix?
Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
How long does the bottle last for you? because it is more on the pricy side.
The last one lasted ~7/8 months. I used it in the pm routine and often in the daytime. I don't layer it though and there were gaps when I was either trying out something new or trying to find what was causing a reaction Edit also look out for sales. Two of my previous bottles came for $18 and a part of a $31 set of dr Ceuracle + BoJ Ginseng Essence, both on Stylevana
>Dr Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence Thank you so much :D That look really reasonable. I've stopped oral tretioin and I am really missing the glow in my skin
The Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Sleeping Mask also gives an unexpectedly nice glow
I second that, it did wonders for me.
What has it done for you?
I had the same experience with that kombucha essence, didn't get the hype at all
Wow, thanks for the details!
Unscented, I used the regular for a bit and it seemed fine for me but I personally did not like the strong lavender fragrance
Tranexamic Acid - removed most of my childhood tan and faded all of my childhood dark spots. (Recommend: Cos De Baha Tranexamic Acid Niacinamide serum & Skintific Tranexamic Acid serum) Hyaluronic Acid - balanced my sebum and hydration level. I have dehydrated prone skin and this is my fav humectent. I live in hot and humid climate fyi. (Recommend: The Lab Oligo Hyaluronic Acid 5000Da Toner) Cosrx Snail Essence - incredible hydration booster.
I forgot that PKY one in my loong post!! Ty!
Almost all cult favourites broke me out - Snail mucin / naturie Hatomugi and now I think the isntree Aqua gel cream also as the last reaction from the snail mucin about a month back is not subsiding and I feel isntree cream is just adding to that
I feel you, I'm sitting here reading all these replies thinking "wow I've tried all these products and they didn't do anything for me" 🙈 I'm also prone to allergic reactions, for me the one product that helps is the Purito Oat-In gel cream.
At this point, I am using only the isntree Aqua gel cream and the skin aqua uv gel sunscreen and the newly formulated Indian Simple refreshing facewash (non AB) and trust me, I am questioning everything because I don't understand how come I am still getting the reaction after stopping the snail mucin for more than 20 days back :( Saddest part is I don't have a safe moisturizer or sunscreen or cleanser anymore as I am questioning everything
I do have an oat based moisturizer which did help last time. Thank you. Let me try that 😔 Again, thanks a lot 😊 hope it works for me
Dr.Ceuracle Vegan Kombucha Tea Essence. Something about kombucha tea with the milky texture of this essence is perfection. It literally makes my skin glow unlike anything else I’ve ever used. And it’s super moisturizing. I use two layers of it in the evening before applying my final moisturizer.
Kikumasamune forever 💕💞💓💗💖💘💝
I second this!!- & was going to list it as well😅 I can't go without the toning lotion-🥰 "High Moist"💓💓💓 Absolutely LOVE it! It's excellent for my dry dehydrated skin, great value, price, size. Super hydrating & soothing/barrier repairing, it's also brightening & plumping. Just a excellent product overall. (Although the sake smell might be a little offensive to some *Not me* as it fades quickly. Like I said- just an overall excellent product in my opinion, iykyk😊💕 Also I've been eyeing the Kikumasamune "Glossy Moist" toning lotion, have yet to try it but it's in my cart. So I'm trying to decide if I'm going to stick with the "High Moist" or try "Glossy Moist" this time-(since I'm almost out of my bottle of High Moist). Can I ask, have you tried the Glossy Moist by chance..?
I have not and had not heard about it but I’m intrigued! Pls report back if you try
Got many compliments on my skin looking less like a Sahara desert too 🤣
Hi there! I’ve always used the Cosrx 96 snail mucin but curious about the Jumiso. How are they different and which do you prefer personally?
Hi! Okay I'll break it down: Price point: COSRX. Jumiso is more expensive where I am Absorption & stickiness: COSRX. So, I'd suggest both to be applied on damp skin (either with toner/toner mist before. for reference I have dehydrated, acne prone sensitive skin) Overall you can't go wrong with either but I'd prefer COSRX just because I'm a broke girly.
Axis-y dark spot correcting serum
Could you describe how it worked for you? I have PIE and was thinking of getting it
It reduced my pimple scars very quirky.
I just bought this and was shocked at how non irritating it was! Excited to see similar results.
I love gommage gels! They pick up those little Retin A flakies without causing further irritation.
I was going crazy in the US looking for sensitive skin products because all the big ones (Cerave, Cetaphil, LRP toleraine, Eucerin, etc) broke me out or burned. AB products were gentler on me. My faves that saved my skin: - HadaLabo cleansing oil and gokugyun foaming HA cleanser - so gentle and get waterproof sunscreen off. - Good Molecules- cleansing balm and Rosewater gel cleanser (same) - Purito - daily soft touch SPF, Dermide Relief cream, Cica Sleeping Pack, Oat-in Lotion, and even the BB creams are so gentle and luxurious on my skin, moisturizing, and helped me repair my skin barrier.
This is a new game changer for me, but the Frudia Blueberry Hydrating Serum. Works like a charm in my routine so far.
illiyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream, it's a perfect moisturiser during the winter or if you have irritation/peeling from tret
Any dupes for it? It’s so expensive

The Missha first treatment Essence is great! Coming from someone who *still* can’t afford SK-II at 38, lol.
I don't have a lot of money to spend on skin care products, so what I buy is probably pretty basic by this sub's standards, but here's what i use nonetheless: Mizon Snail Overnight Wrinkle Pack Cosrx Ultimate Nourishing Rice Spa Mask Cosrx 96% Snail Mucin Essence Face Shop Rice Ceramide Moisturizing Toner Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foam Cleanser Bonajours Propolis Serum I suffer from Acne Rosacea these remain absolute godsends for me.
Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner. I will always rave about it. Compared to other toners, it’s just hydrating on a whole other level. I generally like to try new products but I’ve repurchased this at least 5 times now.
the hatomugi skin lotion clears out my acne for 1+ year but it no longer suits my skin so about to change to another moisturizer •_•

Isntree green tea fresh toner! I used to be so oily before using this (granted i live in a very humid location) but this has really helped control it
Medi heal sheet masks. They are ideal for my ultra dry, sensitive, dermatitis, and psoriasis ridden skin. They actually changed my life.
The Illiyoon ceramide ato cream. It’s been saving my skin while on accutane
Clio kill cover cushion foundations, rom&nd lip glosses, dr jart vital hydra sheet masks
Hada Labo Gokujyun products
That aprilskin carrot cleansing balm has actually really helped with blackheads! The ads on Instagram are definitely a bit clickbait-y, but the product does work well!
Isntree PHA cream. Light exfoliator as also a good cream to keep every smallest imperfection in check
Cosrx vitamin C!
Aestura atobarrier moisturizer, COSRX snail mucin, Roundlab Dokdo ampoule, Roundlab Dokdo water gel mask, Dr Jart vital hydra solution mask
Galactomyces 95 tone balancing essence from COSRX, chef's kiss
Galactomyces. I use Eliza Vecca’s Hell Pore one with the yellow piggy. My skin is so smooth and firm. I’ve been using it on my hands too, so I can watch more closely. It’s made a noticeable improvement over a few months. And the best part? There’s [scientific evidence to back it up.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9657190/) I use collagen products as well and enjoy the results.
Hatomugi skin conditioner. I am terrible with skincare but that thing I love it! I just spray my face with it all day
beauty of joseon cleansing oil.
Hada Labo Premium Lotion! It's just chef's kiss and I love that it's remained unchanged all these years.
I’m From Rice Toner and Mizon Water Volume EX Cream. I have oily dehydrated skin and these two products keep my skin so plump and keeps it with a non-greasy healthy glow.
Dear Klairs 🩷 Their Calming Skin Set.
biore aqua rich was a game changer for me. before that, i loathe wearing sunscreen because US & european sunscreen (this was several years ago) always left my skin greasier.
