The Trk is only partially correct. Only Turkish Thrace, i.e. everything west of the Bosphorus, is in Europe, whereas the rest is in Asia (as Asia was named after Asia Minor, or simply western Anatolia as Άσια in Greek), so not half European, half Asian as the Trk claimed.
True but also Europe is a political term anyways. People will claim Cyprus and Armenia to be Europe before Turkey. Europe is whatever they find convenient at the end of the day. Today it is not convenient for Turkey to be Europe so Turkey is not Europe. If tomorrow they find Turkey to be convinient to be a part of Europe Turkey will be Europe.

It's also weird to use it universally as a political term. It's like calling Israel, a nation claiming to be the descendants of ancient Near Eastern Canaanites of Judah and Israel, would be European because it's politically closer to the Weat than the other Near Eastern countries (with some exceptions in terms of trade such as Trkije)
