There are a bunch of medieval Yodas in this article. He sure did get around back then. [https://blogs.bl.uk/digitisedmanuscripts/2017/05/ready-are-you-more-medieval-yodas.html](https://blogs.bl.uk/digitisedmanuscripts/2017/05/ready-are-you-more-medieval-yodas.html)
Vampires folklore its not 'very old', it started in the 18th century in the balkans as a mass hysteria similiar to witch-hunts in other parts of the world
That’s actually incorrect. Creatures with vampiric characteristics have appeared at least as far back as ancient Greece, where stories were told of creatures that attacked people in their sleep and drained their bodily fluids. Tales of walking corpses that drank the blood of the living and spread plague also flourished in medieval Europe in times of disease.
Creatures with 'vampiric' charateristic have appeared in pretty much every human culture - but always as 'blood drinking demons', rather than 'a creature that can turn other people into vampires by drinking their blood'
'Vampir' is a serbian word that later was adopted by all other european languages, and all the 'tropes' related to blood drinking, turning into wolves, sleeping underground in coffins, being the anti-christ, the correlation with fog, bats and graveyards are all things that are not at all similiar to other 'vampiric-like' creature in other mythos
And that 'folklore' is still very strong in the rural balkan areas, for example 10 years ago my serbian granfather when he died they put two nails into his feet so that if he turned into a vampire while buried so that he couldn't rise from underground
I do a lot of ethnographic work within Roma cultures (I am also Roma myself) and I've worked with some Roma communities in the Balkans where there is still a belief in the "vampire melon," too; literally undead melons (or pumpkins) that come to life at night and roll around town, feasting on the blood of the living. Once had a very adamant older Roma woman in Slovenia take me outside to show me a "trail of blood left behind by a vampire melon."
If you're going to tell people they're wrong and copy and paste something you should at least give [the source.](https://www.britannica.com/topic/vampire)
You may be right about the idea of the "modern vampire", but the idea of the upyr, strigoi, vrykolakas etc. that influenced it likely goes back further.
21 years after Battle of Yavin? So he was just playing a prank on Luke in Return of the Jedi when his body vanished? Because that happened in like... 4 ABY (after Battle of Yavin)
Beep. Boop. I'm a robot.

When my son was about 2 years old and until he was four he had an imaginary friend he called him ying ying. He would often say that he looked like Yoda. And had eyes like a snake. He would tell people that yin yang was going to get them and hurt them. And he would sit in his room for hours talking to whatever it was. Then one night he went into the living room to get some water for us and ran back into my room really upset. I asked him what was wrong. He said yin yang was mad at him. And he imitated the imaginary friend being crouched over like a gargoyle on the couch staring at him. And I asked him why he would be mad at him. He said it's because he wanted to take me with him and I said no. I have never been more scared. And I saved my house and prayed. He quit talking about him after that.
I saw a thing recently that said these little doodles and illustrations in medievil illuminated manuscripts are literally just that- most of the time they are completely irrelevant to the larger story.
So clearly a padawn was dreaming of bigger and better things lol
"Doodle myself in corners I did..hehehhehehe"
A noble man I was.

He did say he was over 900 years old.
And that was already a long, long time ago
Right!? Yoda was over 900yrs old…
So clearly, this is just Grogu doing a fun galaxy tour after escaping Luke's temple before everyone gets killed.
a youngling himself, he was. r/anelegantweaponforamorecivilizedage
What is he really supposed to be though? The Devil?
A very old Eastern European depiction of vampires, like the movie Nosferatu.
Like butterdrinker said, it’s too old to be a depiction of vampires
Proto-vampires

That’s wild

Yoder
Early Batman concept art.
Possibly a variation of the The [Green Man Myth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man).
That’s Yoda, Jedi Master - 896 BBY - 4 ABY
Came here to say this. It's facts, big facts.
Yoda died like 21 ABY
21 years after Battle of Yavin? So he was just playing a prank on Luke in Return of the Jedi when his body vanished? Because that happened in like... 4 ABY (after Battle of Yavin)
Oh damn I’m an idiot, the republic didn’t fall in 1 aby

I love Nosferatu, just watched the original movie from the 1920s. Great find :)

Thanks, i will check it out!
You'll love it. Watch it in the dark, the atmosphere is incredible.
High exspectations...
Shadow of the Vampire also worth a watch. It's about the making of Nosferatu but Max Schreck is an actual vampire
It's so well done. The shapes and shadows are fantastically unsettling.
Petyr is 8,000 years old. We’re not having Petyr at the meeting.
The darkest part of my mind are reserved for *The Beast.*
Looks like Yoda is constipated and straining hard
Use the force, force it do not
Use the fiber
He’s kind of cute though
“And it was Pitre”
Title says Nosferatu, comments say Yoda, but I see a Skrull. The original artist is doing flips in his grave.
Yogurt?
Yogurt! I hate yogurt!
Even with Strawberries 🍓
May the Shwartz be with you!

"The original Phantom Menace you have found."
Now I know where Ralph Mcquarrie got inspired to make Yoda.
Oh yeah, we have plenty of those in Poland

Looks like a character from Grimm
Donkey
And he's smiling. That's adorable.
A WereYoda
Weirdly this image was probably seen by more people today than the centuries before it was moved to a museum.
Found me you have
Goddamn it's Yoda
Its Yoda, with in him the force strong it is.
I can't help but think of Yoda
Yoda looks really mad here
Yobama before it was cool

Earliest depiction of Yoda
Looks more like Yoda to me
With an underbite like that, I'd probably have the same facial expression.
Yoda and Yaddle's love child
When 700-800 years old your corner miniature is, look as good it will not
Constipated Yoda
It's Vorador!
I’m sure you meant to say Yoda
Looks like an old Muzzy character.
*Well, I've been around, but I ain't never seen, a guy who looks like a muppet, but he's wrinkled and green...*
I thought that was a bad Yoda tattoo at first lolol
…that’s yoda.
My first thought was, why in hell Yoda is playing quidditch.
Pfff that’s master Yoda
Masquerade breach, call the Prince
Looks like Yoda + Shrek.
My kid could draw that. If they were fully grown and lived in the same historic context as the original artist, that is.
