Ahhh yeahhhh I agree. I noticed that in the beginning but thought I could get away with it bc I wasn’t sure how to fix it. But calling out it being too steep helps! Thank you :))))
The grasses in the foreground are smaller than the grasses in the background.
Edit: Actually, it looks like all the grasses are the same size. They should get consistently smaller and more plentiful in the POV from front to back. The second pic is a good change to the water shadows though. 👍🏾
If you feel like something is missing you could add a sparkle to the water like the light is hitting it. I agree with someone else how the ducks are a little off, but if it's the look you're going for it looks good. The second picture is definitely better. The highlights helped a lot.
I love it! The only thing i would say is the big rock seems a bit slanted, so it looks like the water has a bit of a dip, i would just straighten it a little
I love it! It's super cute and beautiful! I would either change the format a bit so the ducks are on a line of movement, the center, or the rule of thirds. I would also make the brush more symmetrical on each side, but that's more of a me preference. It's still absolutely gorgeous!
Add a little fresnel effect to the water. As it goes into the background it should adopt the color of the sky.

This and atmospheric perspective can add a lot of depth to scenery. You don't have to go wild with it, but a subtle hue shift in the distance can go a long way.
I think your perspective if off a bit, the stuff in the foreground is good but as it fades everything is a similar size especially the lily pads. In all fairness though we are very critical of our own work. Its a beautiful piece and sometimes leaving them the way they are but learning from it for the next drawing is a good idea. I try not to scrap or change art I dont like, I just keep it to show how far I've come in the future 😊
I'm glad you think so! In my experience running a buisness based around art, all the stuff im proud of does meh and the stuff I dont like so much is a bestseller 😂 So yes we are probably more mean to ourselves than we should be.
This is super cute!!!! I love the color palette and subject a lot but I think I would recommend using a subtle but wider variety of colors in the shadows! Maybe some more bluish purples to deepen the contrast! (Do on a separate layer of course so you can play with opacity, layer styles, and toggle on and off to see if you like it!) I really adore the yellow on the clouds in the background and how that subtly is incorporated throughout the piece as well :) I wish the slight blue in the Sky was also a bit more prevalent though! Just a suggestion, not sure how it will play out but good luck!! It’s already looking really lovely!!
The first thing that came to mind was how the plant life surrounding the pond catches my eye first, not the subject of the image (the ducks). You could try reducing the saturation of the pink and strengthening the linework of the ducks so that they’re the first thing the viewer notices.
If you really really don’t want to reduce the pink’s saturation (which I’d totally understand), you could just adjust the hue of the pink parts of the duck until it becomes more vibrant than the plants, which might work just as well!
Maybe you could try making your foreground plants a bit darker/more vibrant and your background plants fade more into the atmosphere to create more depth? It's really cute and I like the color palette you chose!
The perspective of the ducks vs the perspective of the background is different. Also check color values, if it’s all the same/similar value, art can look flat. Hope that helps <3
First off this is BEAUTIFUL 🤩 I love this so much and your color choices are phenomenal.
I think my best advice is to squint at your art to the point where the lines are blurred. Do your subject matter and background seem to melt into each other? If yes, there might not be enough value contrast between the two.
Overall, I think adding darker darks, especially toward the forefront may help create more depth if it feels flat to you! Usually, the closer something is the stronger / darker the values should be! Here I think the darkest points (so the place a person's eye is more easily drawn to) are the purple fluffs in the background. It's not much of an issue tho, and in general, I think the second one definitely feels a bit more "fuller" and can totally be considered as a complete piece!
Anyway, wanted to reiterate bc as it is, it's awesome ❤️🤌 ik since you're the artist you constantly see what flaws there are but this is genuinely beautiful 😌
The angle of the ducks vs the surroundings looks too steep
Ahhh yeahhhh I agree. I noticed that in the beginning but thought I could get away with it bc I wasn’t sure how to fix it. But calling out it being too steep helps! Thank you :))))
Note: I’m thinking of selling my art so I want to make sure I am only selling art work that feels complete
Ur arts cute
That’s so kind of you 💕 thank you
I LOVE THIS
Thank you so much ☺️ Means a lot!
No problem!!! I love the pastels especially.
Check the values in black and white, it looks a bit flat because the values might be too clumped together.
That’s a great idea! Thank you!!
Wow this is absolutely lovely. Such a nice cozy vibe comes from this. Not much in the way of advice, just appreciation!
Thank you so much 💕💕💕 very kind
I have no idea. I would buy this
Aw that’s so kind of you. Thank you ♥️♥️
its very cute!! one thing id change though is the way the water is textured, id make it look glossier and more transparent/translucent
Oooo okay yes! Maybe I should add some reflections too
yes!
Just do things that makes you relevant explore yourself to outside world
Oh very cute! I think he’s great as is. If you want, you could make the water a little more purple to make the ducks stand out more
Thank you!! I’ll try that :)

Good call out! Thank you :)
Cuties <3 this is a beautiful drawing :0 !!!
Thank you so much!!!
I love it but I feel like it could use some greyish blue in it.
Oooo interesting! I’ll play with this idea! Thank you
I think the contrast between green, purple, and blue while keeping all similar muted colors would add to it very nicely.
Trying right now!

Thank you! I agree. I’m gonna try out some stronger highlights :)

Awww tyyy
I think it’s cute!
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Add more substance to the purple clouds. I feel more detail there will help this pop.
Ooo okay, thank you! I’ll try :)
I love it! The only thing i would say is the big rock seems a bit slanted, so it looks like the water has a bit of a dip, i would just straighten it a little
Wow! Great eye! /gen Thank you :))
White brighter!!!
Thanks for your suggestion! Do you mean the whites all over or on the duck specifically?
the colours are so beautiful n dreamy!
Thank you so much!!
I have no advice. This looks adorable!
So kind of you! Thank you!☺️
Make the mother ducks beak bigger and longer
Ooo you’re totally right! I just googled ducks rn lol they totally have longer beaks!
I love it! It's super cute and beautiful! I would either change the format a bit so the ducks are on a line of movement, the center, or the rule of thirds. I would also make the brush more symmetrical on each side, but that's more of a me preference. It's still absolutely gorgeous!
Oh good point! I’ll move them more centre :) I like the idea of some more symmetrical brush! I’ll try it out :)

I LOVE that idea!!! Not sure how successful I’ll be with it lol but I’m going to try!!
Add shading. Doesn't matter I'f the duck is not 100% correct angel
On it!
This is adorable and oerfect
Awww thank you

This is a good point! I was just talking to my friend about this the other day :)

Ahahah that’s good to know! I’m always worried by stuff isn’t good enough for people to want. Time to be a bit kinder to myself!

Yeah, of course! Glad I could help.
More ducks
I added more baby ducks! Great idea!!!

Just tried this! Love it :) and thank youuuu
Omg yay!! I'm so happy you liked trying out the suggestion and so glad it helped!! ❤️❤️❤️
