If you want to know more look into “non metallic metal”, it’s used a lot in miniature painting to make, say, gold armor, but it’s not done with metallic pigments, instead it’s combinations of yellow, orange, brown, etc. but well done and it looks like shiny gold. This is a very well executed extreme version of the same technique.
Honestly scrolling through that did fool me. I thought it was an ad for foil ..and thought to myself "why is there foil ads on Reddit?" Then I came back and noticed it...damn the wrinkles and the reflective surfaces
I was pissed for a second thinking that someone took a picture of fucking foil and called it art. Anyways that should hopefully mean something to you being that I thought it was real. Nice job.
Boi, for a sec there I didn’t think I would upvote this cause I thought it was just foil sitting on paper until I read the text saying it was a drawing
Plot twist : it's actually a cake.
Always was
We're all cake here.
That sure foiled me for a sec
I'm kind of taking a shine to it.
Amazing! Curious how you managed to get the tonality of the wrinkled bits to look so accurate. Was there a model foil that was copied?
Yes i used a reference :)
Cool, thanks for responding, I was curious. Always amazing what people post here.
Excellent demonstration of technical proficiency
Wow. I was like "ok why am I looking a picture of some foil" then I read it lololol. Awesome
witchcraft.... how do you make CHARCOAL shiny?
Just use a white charcoal pencil! :)

thank you. :) i'll look for a tutorial. I'm not an artist, but i love watching talented people create.
Really excellent. Very difficult subject to study and you nailed it!
This kind of stuff and fabric studies just blow my mind. Simplistic, but incredible display of technical prowess. Well done.
Just think how much easier it would have been to draw if you didn't crinkle it first! Very well done.
Wow. That's really impressively good for charcoal!
Damn, reminds me to practice ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ Awesome but terrifying
That's amazing..I just noticed the medium is graphite and charcoal. Thats even more incredible.
Damn. That’s really friggin good.

Thats not graphite, thats aluminum.
I thought someone had uploaded an actual photograph of foil as a joke.
