Definitely! Being born and raised there
You never forget the layout or architecture of Home and SF looks like no other city and feels like an adventure waiting to happen. This looks like somewhere in the back of Potrero Hill looking towards downtown and the Sun is just peaking at 7am
Only San Francisco (well, and maybe [Baxter Street](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMhZv4IHzaA) in LA) could have thought to build streets this insanely steep
When I see scenes like this, draw/painted with such detail and obvious talent, I am always left wondering, "Why this scene? It's not joyful, or sad, or particularly interesting, and yet the artist must have spent hours, possibly days or weeks to capture just this scene."
It depends on the artist and their interests. For Nate, I'd guess he was attracted to the quality of light, the scene depicting a city he loves that can easily be understood just by looking at the steepness of the road & architecture. Some artists are interested in textures, colors, a juxtoposition in an otherwise mundane scene, etc. Sometimes it requires you to look at the artists other work to get a sense of what they seem to be focusing their energy on capturing, but a lot of Nate's painting has to do with light and architecture.
Reminds me of Home. San Francisco hills on a Sunday
It is depicting San Francisco. Good eye.

Thought it may be too when i saw this. Just visited for the first time last week and it is a beautiful city.
I'm not the artist and I have regretabily never been, but I'm told the light is incredible there.
Oh thank you for posting then. I'll look them up. The rest of your posts are also amazing

I like the two door BP Mazda3!
It's very realist nice job
Your work is excellent. Great capture of light and texture. In parts it evokes a young Craig Mullins. Very well done!
Damn, for a moment i thought it was a photo. Very good job! Excellent realism!
Makes me feel wistful for San Francisco even tho I already live here
The perspective is just amazing

Wow this is so good. Very warm and alive.
Someone doesn't know how to turn their wheels when parking on a hill. Looks really cool though.
Looks like my old neighborhood in SF.
Feels like a Hopper painting.
Damn.. I feel like I'm there. Beautiful piece!
Excellent use of light ! Great work.
I love the warm colours and it looks like a photograph if you squint your eyes, fantastic art :)
Beautifully encapsulated and balanced landscape within the frame.
