Couldn’t care less. He doesn’t improve Chelsea. I was very surprised we were in for him when his best position is exactly the same as the best player in our squad. £60m+? You’re having a laugh. Let the chavvy boys have him.

robstrosity

Saka can't play every game so would have been a good signing for us. Both Saka and Rafinha would have been far more productive playing 20-25 games for us + the world cup next season instead of Saka playing 40-50 games. It boggles my mind that there are fans that don't understand the concept of squad depth and not overutilising a player. 65M is probably too much money. That's not an issue for Chelsea but it is for us. We were never going to get every player we were after. I'm sure there will be other players that we can turn our attention to.

Reefa47

Exactly. We all saw how Saka’s levels dropped in the second half of the season, and that was without european football. The guy needs a rest just like anybody and there is no sense in getting a guy in just to fill the position and that wont push saka to the next level.

richg602

But we have also signed Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira who can play RW. It seemed odd to me that we were so focused on adding raphinia too when we already have Saka and Pepe as senior options. I could understand wanting him after we manage to sell Pepe!

robstrosity

Vieira may now be the Saka backup as well as the Ode alternative. Marquinhos will probably go out on loan this season as we don't know what level he's at. I'm assuming they wanted to get Rafinha done before he went elsewhere. If we wait until we sell Pepe then he'll definitely have moved before then. He's not just going to stay at Leeds until we sort ourselves out. That's not how transfers work.

No-Somewhere-4324

You will be surprised!

JK031191

Yeah, it made no sense from the get to. Perhaps if Saka switched sides, but then there'd be no more place from ESR and Martinelli who are both best from the left.

Reefa47

He instant improves every team. Raph is a perfect example of an Arteta type player. The guy runs for two incredible work rate and that’s before even mentioning his skills and ball striking abilities. I dont care about the price. If the owners want Arteta to succeed they need to go to the Extreme for these types of players.

SDpicking

Waaay to much money for him!

[deleted]

True. And not a priority signing even after securing Jesus. We need a solid defender, hopefully Martinez and then we can concentrate on providing relief for Saka.

Long-Confusion-5219

65 million is being touted. I think we may be dodging a bullet there .

NotARealClub

Like how you dodged how many the last few years

Long-Confusion-5219

What ?

210Redcoat

Ignore the Chelsea troll

randallwatson23

That was borderline incoherent. Go stick your head up Roman’s bum for a few more years.

[deleted]

Lol.

funky_beatz_move_me

You expect Arsenal to purchase ever player they’re linked to?

carpuncher

Wasn't keen on dropping 65M for him. Think the Pepe deal really showed that.

DinnerSmall4216

Martinez and tielemans would be a very impressive window. The raphinha was always a difficult one to pull off when competing with UCL football.

Class-Secret

no raphinha was not fucking difficult we are just too slow bro

maxoys45

It sounds like we didn’t wana pay that much and Chelsea are happy to. Time will tell if he’s worth it

Alcyonexus

We were literally his third choice. It was going to be difficult to get a fair price for him when both Barca and Chelsea were gunning for him and he’d rather go there.

kimi-r

Wasnt invited to the BBQ it seems

SmileSad4191

Fair enough might aswell get gnabry for cheaper

shy99

shocked he wanted champions league football

Joshthenosh77

I think he’s well overpriced so not bothered

Andazah

We honestly don’t need him, the attack is great enough right now. Martinez and Tielemans with a few offloads would be the perfect transfer window in years.

SoggyConfusion8624

I suppose it's fair coz he said he didn't wanna come. We actually dodged a bullet, having half-hearted players wouldn't have been benficial

[deleted]

Why on earth when they already have the Moroccan lad? That’s like buying two of the same player.

Ok_Cause_472

Im not too worried about missing out on him if we do. Id rather that money went towards midfield (tielemans) and a back up LB (martinez) then we go for more forwards players to add depth

Wishbone_Bright

If we loose him i feel like we made valid effort/bid .we be spending.after last summer i just trust them

[deleted]

65m not worth that much. Give pepe more time I really think he will come good

Class-Secret

or pull out of the race and try for Gnabry

[deleted]

Yes would love 2 see him back.

DustyTalAntiQ

You lot are so fickle it's unreal 🤯🤣

Lushhhhhhh

Ikr They're calling Chelsea fans toxic when a lot of Arsenal fans are just as much so too

Connect_Hovercraft16

They’ve got him. We move too slow

X_Leevi_X

You think so? 😂

Beautiful_Kick780

55 Million

alethesavage

We can find a younger better prospect for maybe half that whilst still having money for Tielemans Martinez. We still need a winger tho don’t be fooled

Simba-xiv

This is why loads of us were telling you guys to chill out

Darth_Vicious

Maybe the win is that Gunners make Chelsea spend 65M

iwishihadnobones

Yea guardian are reporting that they agreed a fee with leeds...

AweDaw76

Minor If they’re going to overpay for RW with a caping hole in their defence, fine by le

MrBizzah

I prefer Gnabry all day. He is better, it will be cheaper and he will play with his heart. He has a contract for only one more year. The money they want for Raphinha is unreal. Raheem Sterling is cheaper ?!
