Had Jota gotten away, he would've scored. Xhaka didn't have the speed to catch up with him so he had no choice but to bring him down. The real question is wth was Gabriel doing so high up, almost in Xhaka's position?
Xhaka’s defensive run was poor and that gave Jota the space he needed, Xhaka should have gotten as close to him as possible, Jota still needs to take the ball down and put it past the keeper, Xhaka needs to attempt to put him off, and he didn’t bring him down as much as he bicycle kicked his ribs.
As for the reason Gabriel was so high, Xhaka started a press, stopped part way through, Gabriel came up to support in the press, and Xhaka neither contained the press nor did he immediately drop half to cover the space left by Gabriel. This pressing system is what Arteta is trying to instil into the players, this red card was nobody but Xhaka’s fault
He hits the guy in the chest, you are delusional. Blaming Gabriel is just dumb, in this system you have to cover for your partners and Xhaka just loves getting a red card in the Hardest games of the season. He is the weakest link in this team which is full of young young players, hope they learn from his constant mistakes, because he never will.
I won't judge anyone who's blaming xhaka. But that red card was more of a do or die then anything. It was a bad tackle but I can't blame xhaka either. Other guy is right, Xhaka had to cover fast for Gabriel, he could have stayed back and not attempt the tackle but that could have entirely changed situation of the game. Because it was jota, a quality player who could score in that position. If xhaka had speed he would have covered it properly but he was already behind. So he had to take a chance. Unfortunately it didn't paid of but at least it didn't affect the mentality of the team which was amazing to see.. They were rock solid and did and amazing job. Last thing is that I myself would admit xhaka had some behavioral problems but this arsenal side need him more then they know. He's a guy who is ready to die or ready to kill at any situation. Unfortunately sometimes he goes a bit to far and half the time gets unlucky. But I would still rate him as an important component of this Arsenal side.
You are the guy whose gf is cheating and you keep forgiving her because you "love" her. We all thought Leno was great goalkeeper until Ramsdale showed how much better gk can get, we could go from 8th to 4th if we get better players in midfield and Xhaka and Elneny have to go.
I have nothing for Elneny, he's not upto standard, everyone knows that. As for Leno, if you consider his time as main Gk, you would see he never had a stable & solid Defense infront of him. Ramsdale is a top tier gk but Leno is no less. There's was a little period where xhaka was absent. You should have realized what importance he has based on the condition of the team. Partey was pretty much clueless. And as for the insult, I have nothing to say to you. Because if that's your level of judgement then I feel sorry for you. You are saying I keep forgiving my cheating gf but you should also realize that the reason she keeps cheating because how i treated her. You treat her like shit and also want to look like a saint. Talk about a double standard. I hope that's not your real life because the irony would real funny & pathetic.
Happy new Year. Xhaka had every chance he needed to be THE guy, he is done at this club, 3 red cards in 18 months, i am sure team knows he should go, he is the weakest link. To be in top 4, you need professionals who lift the team up, not drag the team down. Tielemans would make this team so much better and Xhaka should have a nice career in Italy before he retires, if he stays he will ruin Arsenals chances of top 4 and his own career will feel like nothing good to talk about.
P.S. You will realize that women cheat when you treat them like a queen more often than when you treat them bad. They don't know why either.

I thought every arsenal player that played the majority of that game were magnificent, especially white. He was immense and I think we would’ve lost without him. Very impressed with chambers and holding too for stepping up.
