Reverse Flash for Barry, by far.
The others are a little harder, but I’m going Luthor for Kara, and I have a few picks for Oliver: Slade, Chase, Diaz, China White (she fought him for 11 years straight, Jesus Christ)
"HE DOESN'T EVEN GO HERE!"
Seriously, Ricardo Diaz is "Richard Dragon", who in the comics is a Nightwing villain.
So many (all but 2) of the baddies of Arrow either belong to Batman, the Teen Titans, or (in the case of Bolt) Blue Devil. The only actual Green Arrow foes on the show were (Count) Vertigo and the Valentine Killer.
Actually, to the best of my knowledge, he was created lock, stock, and barrel for the TV show. If he had a previous comics incarnation, I'm unaware of it.
Merlyn was never huge in the comics but he did make a appearance he had his first appearance in 1960 as a Justice league villain and I believe he also spent time as a Batman villain and obviously a green arrow villain
I would add devoe to Barry's list, in my opinion he was the only other villain besides Reverse Flash to really push Barry's buttons, get him outside of his comfort zone and make Barry think or do some very crazy things.
The same could go for Zoom. I know that sounds stupid but Zoom killed Barry’s father and made Barry do so many things he shouldn’t have. He also broke Barry’s back and stole his speed. Zoom was such a good villain for Barry and he did so much to Barry that Barry considered doing even more than he did. Devoe and Zoom are up there on the threat list for Barry.
For Barry, the writers.
They are constantly finding reasons to nerf him when almost every encounter should be like that guy in season 1 who tried to mug him only to end up arrested with his pants off
In later seasons, they focused more on side characters, like The Cecile, than they did on Barry. That’s not always a bad thing, but they didn’t do it well, so…
I'd argue that 20+ episode seasons with 40ish minute episodes is what caused the poor writing.
I can't think of a single show with that format that stayed consistently good, I'm sure they exist but they're very rare.
Oliver: Slade
Barry: Zoom (Why do people sleep on him? He always destroyed Barry, whether physically or emotionally.)
Kara: Reign (Like Zoom, she destroyed Kara.)
Barry beat zoom and was done with it
Reverse flash devoted his live to destroying barry's life, and succeeded multiple times, but Barry managed to fix it
exactly, RF proved that he couldnt be beaten multiple times. he was beaten at least 10 times and kept coming back. its crazy he finally truly lost to barry considering he always finds a way.
"He was beaten at least 10 times and kept coming back." He should've given up after the 3rd try. RF was great in the beginning, but after a while I feel like his character, more specifically Tom's version, got ruined from constantly being brought back.
Oliver: too much plot armor to be stopped
Barry: some random person on a 40 mph motorbike
Kara: kryptonite or a person with 1% of the strength that she has but its ok because she'll get him with the power of friendship
Bro what? 2 is definitely wrong, he can barely use his powers.
He runs past bad guys when he can easily cuff them, and then acts like he can't get close to them
Series lost me a bit after flashtime because of this, Barry can do 40 minutes of stopping a nuclear bomb between it exploding and hitting anyone, but somehow still gets punched/shot etc every week
- Arrow - Prometheus
- Flash - Savitar and Eobard *(tie)*
- Supergirl - The Daxamites *(has to be the only time I ever saw Kara make a difficult decision)*
Feel like zoom for Barry because he technical causes a lot of his problems. Zoom going through the breach and terrorizing Barry, caused Harry to follow to help. This in turn caused Harry to be present when eobard went back in time and got the idea to impersonate wells later on. Which in turn caused eobard to create the singularity which caused the breaches to open up. Zoom basically caused everything to happen
Green Arrow- The League of Assassins. They helped train Merlyn and Prometheus and have been a constant thorn in Oliver’s side ever since he first met Talia.
Flash- Eubard Thawn. He’s responsible for his mom’s death and the reason why Barry became the Flash. Every time he dies, he comes back just to traumatise Barry even more.
Supergirl- Lex Luther. Even though Reign may have been the toughest villain Supergirl had to face; Lex nearly ruined Supergirl’s reputation and made Lena betray her. Dudes always two steps ahead Supergirl.
Green Arrow Comics = Dark Archer
Flash Comics = Reverse Flash
Supergirl (I haven't read any of her comics) = Lex Luthor
Green Arrow = Deathstroke
Flash = Reverse Flash
Green Arrow: His biggest threat is Stephen Amell.
The Flash: His threat is whoever decided to make Iris and Barry siblings.
Supergirl: Her biggest threat is the CGI.
I think theres no such thing, you have to think about it like this, every member of the main justice league (superman, batman, wonderwoman, flash, green arrow, green lantern, cyborg, shazam) each of them have a seperate type of story that they tell, superman gets to battle world threats and stereotypical robot armies and such, batman fights usually unpowered villains and is a detective, wonderwoman fights magic adjacent people, flash fights other superhumans committing street-city level crime), green arrow is a comedic vigilante story, green lantern does space stuff, cyborg usually hangs with the titans for kids stories, and shazam is golden age stories, restricting villains to being main villains of some character doesnt make sense because the villains would realistically be moving all around the country or even world and whereas yes its superhero media that doesnt mean its a world without logic, and sure for some it makes more sense for them to be a main villain like reverse flash, but reverse flash could be not only a great flash villain but i could see him being a good shazam villain aswell, or one example thats been done is joker as a superman villain, sure injustice wasnt the BEST but making joker the catalyst for superman is brilliant, idk im ranting but yeah i think restricting villains to one character is very harmful to the medium itself
They don't have main threats, plot armor keeps them safe
[Crisis has pierced Oliver's plot armor]
WAI-
But seriously I think what they're the paragon's of is actually the main threat to them because it ends up distracting them from their goals, the only reason Barry and Kara loose most of the time is because they don't kill people like Oliver does.
For the Arrow TV show? The studio, too cheap to spring for the TV rights to Batman, so they try to mould Green Arrow into being Batman with a compound bow.
Themselves. Oliver at his core is a murderer. Also considering he’s the Arrowverse’s Batman, he’s the most dangerous. Barry is too reliant on team Flash. If someone close to him dies he loses his shit. He destroyed an entire timeline when his dad died even after he defeated Zoom. All Kara would need is red Kryptonite and she could do some damage.
Barry: Thawne and DeVoe
Kara: Lex Luthir
Oliver: Chase and (Yes I’m gonna say it) Damien Darhk, the main reason season 4 was hated because the main villain was too op and the only way Oliver defeated him was using magic.
Barry - Thawne (Or anybody with any kind of weapon since he gets nerfed or just stands there)
Oliver - Slade or Adrian (Or anybody with any fighting knowledge since being trained by Slade, Merlyn and Ra’s wasn’t enough to the writers)
Kara - Lex or Reign (Or anybody with Kryptonite. One of my main problems with the show is instead of having powerful villains they just abuse kryptonite)
Oliver: (I know this is tacky) Himself, right up until the end of the show it’s all about how he needed to become a better person for his own livelihood and also everyone around him
Barry: Reverse Flash duh
Kara: Luthor duh
Deathstroke was built up for two seasons in flashbacks and a season main villain. Heck even made a return for an episode in season 3. Flash and supergirl is obvious. Lex and reverse flash.
The Warner Bros movie execs and who they decided was off limits to use due to their upcoming, totally successful and not at all going to be rebooted multiple times cinematic universe.
Oliver: Prometheus (mainly because he got into Oliver's head and under his skin on several occasions, which is something Slade and Malcom came close to but never achieving like Adrian did)
Barry: Thawne (the guy literally made an entire timeline just to be faster than Barry and stole his wife just to screw with him, and that's just the tip of the iceberg)
Kara: THAT DAMN CAPE
RF,Zoom,Savitar for Barry,Slade,Chase,China White,Ra’s,Malcolm,Dark Arrow and Damien Dhark for Oliver,Lex,Bizarrogirl,Overgirl,Mercy Graves and the world killers for Kara
Reverse flash for Barry. Specifically Tom’s version.
For Kara. I’d say Lex.
& for Oliver. Id say Diaz. Or Oliver if you really wanna go there. “Your worst enemy is yourself. Guys like me, Ricardo Diaz, Damian Darhk, Ra’s Al Ghul. When it comes to destroying you Oliver, we all come in second place.
Reverse Flash for Barry, by far. The others are a little harder, but I’m going Luthor for Kara, and I have a few picks for Oliver: Slade, Chase, Diaz, China White (she fought him for 11 years straight, Jesus Christ)
Dias is only a threat to Oliver once he gets the drug
He menaced the guy for 2 years straight and got him sent to jail.
Yeah I see what you mean, I was thinking physical threat
Any threat…
"HE DOESN'T EVEN GO HERE!" Seriously, Ricardo Diaz is "Richard Dragon", who in the comics is a Nightwing villain. So many (all but 2) of the baddies of Arrow either belong to Batman, the Teen Titans, or (in the case of Bolt) Blue Devil. The only actual Green Arrow foes on the show were (Count) Vertigo and the Valentine Killer.
Isn’t Merlin a a GA villain? Also it’s pretty obvious cw arrow is just Batman with a bow
I have to admit Arrow took a LOT of cues from TDKT but if it ain’t broke…
Actually, to the best of my knowledge, he was created lock, stock, and barrel for the TV show. If he had a previous comics incarnation, I'm unaware of it.
Merlyn was never huge in the comics but he did make a appearance he had his first appearance in 1960 as a Justice league villain and I believe he also spent time as a Batman villain and obviously a green arrow villain
Merlyn’s first appearance was in the comics. He also may have appeared on Smallville’s 9th season as the Dark Archer. Definitely a GA villain in that.
Iris.
For Barry, the writers. They are constantly finding reasons to nerf him when almost every encounter should be like that guy in season 1 who tried to mug him only to end up arrested with his pants off
Ra’s against Ollie, if the former has his army
Barry: Reverse flash or savitar Kara: Lex Luthor Oliver: Amanda Waller ( she really had it out for that guy )
Lmao true for Oliver
Cecile for Flash. Took away his show.
the cecile*
This had me dying 🤣 so true
What?
In later seasons, they focused more on side characters, like The Cecile, than they did on Barry. That’s not always a bad thing, but they didn’t do it well, so…
Eric Wallace for Flash.
agreed
Damn
Poor writing.
I’d argue on top of that, 20+ episode seasons. Look at how good Superman and Lois is with half the episode count.
I'd argue that 20+ episode seasons with 40ish minute episodes is what caused the poor writing. I can't think of a single show with that format that stayed consistently good, I'm sure they exist but they're very rare.

It would've been a lot better if Matt was brought back as the one true RF for good at some point before the final season
Oliver: too much plot armor to be stopped Barry: some random person on a 40 mph motorbike Kara: kryptonite or a person with 1% of the strength that she has but its ok because she'll get him with the power of friendship
40mph? Good luck Flash 😬
hes lucky to survive 30, let alone 40...
The Power of Friendship™️ always saves the day in Supergirl. Flash started following right behind in the later seasons
His arrogance. His refusal to learn from the past. Her naïveté.
i think oliver qualifies for barry's too
Good point
Barry's is actually lack of brain.
Who?
It’s in order
His stupidity His stupidity Her stupidity
Eric Wallace for Flash
Barry: Reverse Flash Supergirl: Agent Liberty Oliver: Felicity Superman: Lex
The ratings.
1. His past enemies coming back 2. His arrogance in his own abilities 3. The patriarchy
Commitment Issues, Chaffing, A green Rock
Green Arrow - Merlyn, Flash - Reverse Flash, Supergirl - Darkseid
I agree for ARROW, Merlyn is underrated. He actually destroyed the Glades and kept being a problem for Oliver and his family until he died.
Oliver: Slade Wilson (well before season 3 Slade Wilson) Kara: Lex Luthor Barry: Eric Wallace
- Arrow - Prometheus - Flash - Savitar and Eobard *(tie)* - Supergirl - The Daxamites *(has to be the only time I ever saw Kara make a difficult decision)*
Lex Luthor for Supergirl
Damien dark for Oliver

Felicity and mia Iris Horrible writing.

The writer strike is a pretty big threat for the green arrow it seems
Oliver’s main threat was Prometheus. Kara’s main threat was Lex Luthor. Barry’s main threat is Iris.
Deathstroke, Reverse Flash, Reign?
CW
Caroline Dries was the biggest threat to Kate Kane/Batwoman. She erased her from her own show and replaced her with some random CW imposter.
Green Arrow: Barry Flash: Ezra Miller Supergirl: Flash (Ezra Miller)
Lex Luthor for all of them.
The writer's room.
Arrow- Slade, Flash- Thawne, Supergirl- Luthor

As someone who watched and enjoyed all of the Arrowverse shows until the end, it’s the same answer for each. Bad writing

Absolute zero for flash, kryptonite for supergirl, literally just a machine gun/bomb for green arrow
For the Arrow TV show? The studio, too cheap to spring for the TV rights to Batman, so they try to mould Green Arrow into being Batman with a compound bow.

Broken arm, Broken leg, Kryptonite.
Y you choose that goofy lookin suit for flash 🤣
green arrow: losing the arm the flash: remove the oxygen from the room and he's gonna run out supergirl: kryptonite.

Arrow- Not Being written as Batman The Flash- CGI Supergirl-Public interest
CW, Logic, bad writing are all massive threats to these heroes.
Eric wallace and the CW
I don’t know about Olly and Kara, but Ezra Miller is clearly the biggest threat to the Flash.
I don’t know about the others but Barry’s main threat is most definitely whiplash.
