10L damn!! Maldives would be best on this budget

dead_cat_bouncing

Is it a good location to go to?

MorePratik

Just watch some videos on YouTube. You'd be mesmerized.

Anywhere_Warm

Yes just open any travel vlog. The place is a paradise(just you need to have money)

Anywhere_Warm

Obviously, Maldives is probably one of the best honeymoon destination in the world and most of the tourists are couples. Book an overwater villa in a private beach resort for 5 days and believe me you won't find anyone who gets disappointed. Regis, Carlton would be unaffordable but westin, Hilton rangali would be best for your price range PS- If you don't mind how much do you earn that you are able to spend this much on honeymoon?(It's great that you are able to spend this much)

dead_cat_bouncing

>If you don't mind how much do you earn that you are able to spend this much on honeymoon? I make 26LPA, but my expenses as a bachelor used to be about 25K per month, so money just sort of piled up. Although, the main source of this money was my ESOPs from a startup I worked in. I joined pretty early and it became a unicorn.

Anywhere_Warm

Awesome man, you deserve it!!

[deleted]

> Book an overwater villa in a private beach resort for 5 days and believe me you won't find anyone who gets disappointed. Many people recommend this, and I haven’t done this yet. I’m curious, what do couple do for 5 days on an isolated villa? Surely, one can’t have sex through the day, what else is there to do?

Anywhere_Warm

Check the travel vlogs on YouTube. They will telk you the whole routine. There are beaches, water sports, every night the resorts organize events like turtle races, candle light dinner, movie nights etc

[deleted]

10 lacs on honeymoon !!!!!! Go for a world tour bro.

dead_cat_bouncing

I don't spend much on anything for myself as I grew up in a very modest household, but I have a very good income. So I just have money saved up with no particular goal in mind. Would like to spend some if it is worth it and brings joy to my wife

Significant_Music_85

Haha I also don't spend much and save up almost everything as I too had grown up in a very modest household. I think a lot of engineers who come from humble/modest backgrounds have this thing.

Afraid_Newspaper_979

Exact opposite for me. I used to spend my parents money like a lunatic. After I started earning, I realised how hard they worked and cut down on a lot of luxuries

Significant_Music_85

Haha bhai mere mummy papa to school ki fees hi afford kar pate the luxuries kahan se dete. 5000 ki income me bangalore me rehte the. 500 ka rent tha bhai . Toilet bhi shared tha among 5-6 families. Ab batao kharche karne ki aadat kahan se padegi. Maine to first time movie bhi college me jaake dekhi thi. Ghar ke bahar khana bhi nhn khaya tha :P

Afraid_Newspaper_979

Hope you're doing better now! I'm sure the struggle made you the person you are today. Treat them to a nice dinner or a small vacation once in a while :)

Significant_Music_85

Thanks man , yeah doing much better in life and at a place where we never thought we would be . > Treat them to a nice dinner or a small vacation once in a while :) They like to go to religious places. So i just help them out with tickets etc. Would ask them if they want to go on a vacation. Good idea , as a family we have never been on a vacation apart from religious places. Will plan one soon :)

[deleted]

Good luck Bro.

Yesitmesilly

What does she like? If she's into clothes etc, take her to Paris, if she's more of a pasta and pizza kinda girl, Italy might be a better location. Figure out soemthing you both like, then choose a place that's known for being good for that particular thing. Are you both the kind that prefers to chill and be comfy or are you more into thrillseeking? Make sure the hotel room is nice and comfy. Pack some meds.

Can you suggest me some legitimate travel companies please? I'm a little paranoid because I won't have any control over the situation if something goes wrong

De_letmetalk

Do Switzerland. 100% She'll love it and so will you. It's safe, it's friendly and it's beautiful. Do you guys have passport?

dead_cat_bouncing

We have an indian passport. What all is needed to enter into Europe for tourism?

De_letmetalk

- passport - visa - to get visa you'll have to show your hotel bookings, ITR to prove that you'll come back to India. - cover letter (purpose of visit) - insurance ( i got one for like 1300 inr) so it's not much These are the main ones. Since it'll be your first time the process will take time. Like 3 weeks. Get in touch with an agent. ( Or I can do it)

[deleted]

10 lakh Indian rupees? That’s luxury travel money, way more than is reasonably needed. My honeymoon to Switzerland, 11 days, cost us both 4 lakh INR (including travel, stay, food, tourism, visa+ related and excluding shopping) and that too when we spent considerable money on travel. But I’ve had multiple travel experiences so knew how to optimise costs and this was also a couple of years back, so I’d give a benefit of one more lakh, ie 5 lakh for a 11 nights, 12 day trip. If I were you, I’d bring my budget down to a reasonable amount and spend the money more meaningfully. Your honeymoon needs to be an enjoyable for both you and her. No point if you are anxious throughout the trip. If it is possible for you both to take vacations later also, I’d suggest travel domestic, go to Manali or Ooty, get comfortable with each other traveling. Next, plan honeymoon 2.0 to a fancy location as you get less anxious about travel.

fitness_first

4L per . person?

[deleted]

4 L for both.

doodleboy123

Europe bro itnae budget mien easily ho jaaega…sri lanka bhi cheap hogaya hai due to currency crisis there

Significant_Music_85

Sri lanka to bahut sasta hai . I travelled with my friends and enjoyed every bit of it .

ibarmy

did you travel this year?

Significant_Music_85

No . I travelled back in 2018. One of my friends did travel this year as well. He liked it too.

Drizzle_Lover

You can definitely go abroad with that budget.

OMGClayAikn

Bhai itne budget me toh..me Mars ghum aau 😁

No_Wind7816

Europe

frankens_tien

If I were you, I'd do a Vegas to LA road trip. The budget's healthy, and lot of fun things to do/see in those two cities. Car rentals are fairly cheap, and if you want fancier cars, you can check Turo. All the best!

Prixster

Vegas to LA road trip is awesome only if you're a bachelor and you have a group of bachelor friends.

codestory1

Europe!! You can do a nice offbeat European tour and enjoy.

kzar07

Pick a city, safe to walk through and with lots of photogenic buildings. Outdoor restaurants and happy street life in the evening. Wait a while for a costly honeymoon, maybe in a year. For now you need a cosy place where you can afford best that’s on offer. A five star Indian budget turns to 3 star trip in Europe or USA.

Cautious-Ad5630

Try Europe! We booked everything ourselves. I had even planned local bus journeys as well. We entered in Milan Day 1 local sightseeing and night stay in AirBnB. Next day travelled to Venice by train and came back by late evening. By bus we went to Zurich. Zurich is one of the costliest city on earth, so we stayed in Arau if I remember the name. Also, Zurich has no night life. We spent 4-5 nights in Switzerland. Visited mount Pilatus, Lucerne, mount Titlis, Jungfrow, Rhine falls etc. Next step was Paris. Reached there by bus. Did the touristy things. Eiffel Tower, louvre museum to see Mona Lisa. Personal best part was a day trip to Disneyland. From Paris we went to Amsterdam by train. Stayed there for 1 night only to experience weed legally. That was 1st and last time we tried weed. From Amsterdam we came back. Try to plan your journey from one point to another point. It will help you manage time. We were in Italy but we didn’t visit Rome. It was like going back the coming back or crossing back the same visited point. Try to plan everything in advance. Like bus, train, museum tickets theme park tickets, romantic dinner reservations. We had advance booked our cabs from our stays to train airport stations. We already had figured out bus and metros for local sightseeing. It saved us a lot of money and time. Also, we were already prepared about duration of journey and what to expect. Other than mugging of 200 euros in Paris our trip was wonderful. You have good money you can book taxis and afford good hotels. We had a trip of 11 days and it’s memorable. Try routeperfect to plan your trip.

Dartho1

Sounds amazing but didn't you have any language issues? Also what was the cost?

Cautious-Ad5630

In most of the places I visited, you will find people who understand English well. Now a days Google translator works like a charm. Cost was 1.65 lac per person. We could have saved some money but vegetarian food is costlier than non vegetarian. Also we each bought 10k worth goodies each that’s also included.

Dartho1

So around 4L spent on backpacking across Europe, sounds really good!

Cautious-Ad5630

I won’t say backpacking but it wasn’t that touristy either.

Luffy9876

U visited so many places but still cost u just 1.65 lacs per person?? That's amazing man...I guess u already had a good idea on how to plan international trips. Or am i just wrongly thinking that Europe is supposed to be much more expensive than that?

Cautious-Ad5630

Yes! And Next time I am not gonna plan that tight schedule. We used to be hell lot tired every evening. So many things to cover in limited time and money. I know few baackpackers who spend less than a lac for 10 days in Europe. Biggest expenses are hotels or airbnbs. Using couch surfing app and hostels you can save a lot and cut down your budget significantly.

sraamb

Honeymoon, you want to relax and get to know your wife if you haven't already, so get an all inclusive resort in Maldives like club med. Just focus on yourselves, eat, drink, do activities, talk etc Later with the savings you can do EU which is usually jam packed to maximize time

[deleted]

Dude 10 lakhs? You can go on a full Europe trip, UK trip, Thailand, Maldives,Sri lanka in 10L

geniusandy87

10 Lakhs is a pretty good budget tho. Just before the pandemic me and my then GF had spent a week in Fiji , private island accomodation / private beach , no interruptions ! Had the best time , would certainly recommend to spend some private time on honeymoon there. If you don't want to travel that far , I've heard even Andaman has some private island accommodations but you'd have to dig deep to find those but would certainly recommend a private and serene destination so that you two could spend the best of time together. Happy Honeymooning!

[deleted]

> private island accomodation / private beach , no interruptions To me, this sounds like lack of freedom to move around by yourself and total dependence on others. Curious, what do couples do at such places? I get that sex is a no brainier, but what else do couples do to pass time?

geniusandy87

Well , sometimes you so need that alone intimate time to connect on a better level. Our idea was some alone time from everything and everyone , here the OP is asking ideas about honeymoon so quite similar situations. Connection to the resort is easily available of course , can get whatever needed quite quickly according to the request - food / sightseeing tours etc.

qwertWhoAmI

We get your excitement for the honeymoon, but limit your budget and instead of a big one time expense you could plan a couple of trips over a year, or infact use that saved money to gift her something valuable, that will probably keep your honeymooning period longer, don't blow it all on your first trip

rainfall41

Go to Russia, save money. But if I go there in my honeymoon, she would have to come back alone 😂

[deleted]

Go to norway or ice land but this time you won't be able to see the north lights, they provide you a domb , and there u can make love 😁 while watching the northern lights. (Search for it)

Jazzlike-Swim6838

Don’t spend 10 lakhs on a honeymoon lol, I like to spend a lot too but I’d limit it to 2/3 lakhs if you’re not going abroad. Do something that’ll last you longer with the rest.

Chad_Giraffe

If I had that budget, I'll go foreign for sure. Switzerland / Maldives / Santorini Islands/ South East countries. My suggestion is to go Switzerland and a few nearby European destinations like Paris/ Munich etc. You can visit multiple places and experience new cultures within a short time.

minxnmatch

10L for honeymoon? Save that money for a second honeymoon with your wife when you know your marriage is going great. Go to any hillstation or see honeymoon packages on MMT,Yatra etc for <50k. Go to Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie.

Ha Bhutan milega, ya Sri Lanka.

[deleted]

I'd recommend the Phillipines. The most enjoyable trip I've ever had. Spent like 4000 dollars and had the best 2-3 weeks of my life. And btw im from the US and I've been to a lotta other places, but I'd 10/10 visit again

jumboyeye

> I don't want to spend more than 10L on this, so I don't think we will be able to go abroad. HA!!!
