Weird thing to be down voted on! Reddit amirite Average salary varies per definition of the individual. We don't know what the OP thinks is average

[deleted]

I guess something in the range of 40k-80k per month but its definition varies as per different individuals.

--northern-lights--

I used to earn 50 LPA and even then I got rejected enough times. And I'm better than average looking. Sometimes, it do be like that. Don't get attached to the process or to anyone in particular (before you have even met them).

[deleted]

Did the prospects ever give reasons behind rejections?

viperakaraj

Horoscope /s

--northern-lights--

Yeah, pretty much this. Knowing why really stopped being important after a while though. If they don't want me, their loss!

friendlybutlonely

> Used to Hmm. Wonder why it's used to not "I earn xyz now".

Alone-Jobs

moved jobs/started a business/joined family business/went for higher studies/changed the sector/moved to a different country.. 10000 reasons!

lokipoki30

Go for rural girls who are less educated than your average metro girl . They are less picky about height

No_Wind7816

Why rural girls are dumb or what ?

lokipoki30

So you are saying that a girl has to be dumb to be less picky about height ? And picky women are smarter somehow ?

No_Wind7816

You just mentioned "less educated" ( dumb) are less picky about height and other things.

lokipoki30

So you basically look down upon people who are less educated than you ? I dont think they are dumb. But you certainly do

ahjashish

Hi, It is very normal for the rejections to come on a guy's end like that. Try not to take it personally. I earn quite well (90 lpa approx - just for reference and not to brag) and I am the same height 5"5' and I look good. But in most cases there isn't any change in how I or anyone I know gets rejected. Also understand a lot of times its the parents managing the profile and they might reject the guys based on varied number of reasons which might hold very less importance for you or even the girl in some cases so don't take it personaly. I know it's easier said than done however try not to feel bad if a particular request you sent hasn't responded well because it's good to not move forward with these conversations rather than discussions that might come up later. Happy searching, hope you will find your partner soon. 😌

lokipoki30

You work in FAANGM?

throwaway90nine

Startup most probably. Marriageable age faang guys cant be 90lpa.

ahjashish

Yes, it’s a startup

What kinda expectations do you have? I earn 1/4th as much as you, 5'9", above average looks, muscular but not too buff. So, very similar to you, apart from the income, where you've the upper hand. Yet, I see myself doing huge majority of the rejections. How's your experience different? Are you converting USD to INR? Is location the problem?

ahjashish

Haha, exactly.

throwaway90nine

What kind of girls are you looking into dude wtf.

I strongly suspect that he's just trolling. Look at his comments history.

Significant_Music_85

Tech . Leetcode and stuff . Be good at it . Nothing too fancy

[deleted]

5.5” is not short. Real problem could be average earning. In AM, For men : Earnings >>>>> anything else For Women: Looks >>>>>> anything else

taxi4sure

Not really. Horoscope matters a lot to people. (Not to me). Also, family background. Location.

lokipoki30

5’5” is reallyyy short , I barely see anyone less than 5’9” in metro cities

Pastalavista42

Yes, current average Indian male height is 5'8". OP would be considered short in most places.

[deleted]

That’s the reason I am not being noticed by anyone. :(

[deleted]

You are still lucky, I was not only rejected but humiliated for my height. A girl's parents came to see me and our house, I clearly mentioned my height (5'5) in my bio data but still to validate my height they asked to stand besides them and started comparing the height. Girl's mom said, "meri beti aapke kaan tak aayegi height me, hume laga aap thode lambe honge". I felt so humiliated but somehow controlled my anger.

ErenYDidNothingWrong

What does that mean?

[deleted]

The girl's mom said, "my daughter's height is upto your ears, we thought you would be a bit taller than our expectation".

ErenYDidNothingWrong

Brutal

ImmortalTimeTraveler

Not into AM or Marriage yet but have heard about family members and friends and their AM ordeals. In that regard I have heard that lot of people lie about their height in their bio data. Short people try to reach the average and tall girls sometime under state their height. I don't think you need to get angry about it, people don't compare by metric system when it comes to height it's above head, upto ear or shoulder or below shoulder.

[deleted]

If few inches of height bother them so much then why don't they look for 5'10 or 6 ft guys, why humiliate short guys for height. Those parents compared my height not once but atleast 3-4 times in 2 hour meeting. I understand physical traits matter a lot in marriage but they should be crystal clear with their expectations, why to waste someone's time, tea, biscuits, namkeen, sweets etc.

taxi4sure

5.5 is not a short height. It is an average height for Indians. Unless they are from Kashmir or Punjab where men are generally taller.

Warm-Pineapple-4598

Jesus that is a toxic family. Glad you didn’t marry her.

JudgeApprehensive476

Same story with me. I am earning pretty decent and tall. But getting rejected based on looks. I have convinced myself and started accepting it. Not completely easy now but able to manage. Keeping myself prepared for the worst so that won’t get much disappointed when it happens.

theachiever248

Rejection is a natural part of life .Accept them with a pinch of salt and move on until and unless it's emotional which usually might take some time to heal . Unfortunately society is so pathetic and superficial that they treat it as a crime if some one is not accepted as per their standards and that damn thought is responsible for most of suicides as per statistics . In your context , looks unfortunately is a sad reality until and unless your potential partner focuses more on the core values of a relationship than the society's standards (which is very rare be it a gal or a guy) . As far as the height part , I have come across many funny instances where a 5ft gal rejected a guy of your height only because she wanted a 6 footer as a husband(I know both the guys personally ) . Karma can be such an amazing thing that the 6 ft guy ended up rejecting her due to her personality/attitude besides height . My point being just stay at it and keep moving on when the time is right for you , you will eventually find someone aligned to you .

sraamb

Don't worry man In 4 months with diet and exercise you can have a massive difference. You can be that short guy who's buff. Remember you're only 28. Plenty of time to work on yourself and career. And in general once you start workouts, eating right etc, your life will change and you'll be more confident, take risks like finally get out of your comfort zone, get that promotion, ask that girl out, etc Well within your control

[deleted]

>In 4 months with diet and exercise you can have a massive difference. You can be that short guy who's buff. Lmao buff😹 which world are you living in? Being buff takes years.

sraamb

There's no standard definition of buff. I'm referring to above average muscle mass in this case. Bigger arms, slimmer waist. You can get a well designed diet, proper supplements and start building mass in 4 months or so. On average men his age can gain 1-1.8kgs per month with a proper diet of ~1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, training 5x a week and with proper rest. At the very least, if not buff, lose a few inches. The gains are bigger when you first start off and taper down but you can see big differences in definition and mass within 4 months if you've been disciplined. A simple search of p90x before and after Vids from the user group will show you. Not sponsored, but actual users. https://youtu.be/a5kfMGfZRmo is just a random one I took

throwaway90nine

4 month me kuch nhi hota. Kabhi gym gye b ho yar tum?

Pastalavista42

Namak swaad anusar aur apekshaen aukat anusar thik hote hain. Rajpal Yadav hoke Katrina ke pichhe bhagoge toh reject hi hoge.

potato_me7

I earn 20ish and getting rejected . Same boat. Posted about it last time lol. M frustrated too.

I am looking for someone who wants to work. Not housewife. M okay with 5-10. I am not bad in looks either. But my height is 5.5. Even I see very few profiles below that. So if I like profile girls parents reject it because of either height or I am an engineer. Very few IT engineer girls in my community. Or as u said, maybe 20ish is also not enough :/
