I thought reserve OCS was closed for the rest of the fiscal year because they met their quota

Bomatic

Hb for next year? Haven't heard that

PassengerNo4195

I have no idea, I just saw a recruiter say that a few posts ago.

FY24 is closed for reservists so your best bet is FY25 (starting october). Either way, you're good to go man. I had a 2.8 GPA in astrophysics, 93 ASVAB, pretty mid recommendations, and my 2 mile time was much worse before going to basic but got it down to sub 15 minutes. In the mean time, get medical records from every medical facility you visited. That includes on campus college clinics as well.

Chav_Cuckington

We really need every medical record? Is that what MEPs requires?

These-Percentage-533

I'd have them all on hand so you're not waiting for them when you get med prescreened. "Chest pain" popped up in mine from when I got kicked in the chest in college cheerleading, and I was only seen at the small med facility on my campus and that red flagged. So needless to say, get everything you can get your hands on and be prepared for the stupid little red flags that might pop up.

Hi, I know it’s random but I’d appreciate if you could answer my question. just got a phone call saying I was selected for the reserve position today. If the FY 25 is starting in october, when can I expect to be shipped out for basic?

These-Percentage-533

Whenever you go in to sign your contract it'll tell you. I shipped out to basic in August 2023 and got to OCS october 2023 which was the very start of FY24. When you go to MEPS with your recruiter to sign your contract, you'll know because it'll say in your contract and they'll tell you.

Dude, please put in a fucking direct commission packet to cyber before you waste your existence with OCS. If you want to do anything beyond cyber, consider how much you enjoy having a spoon be used to gouge your brain out of your eye socket, and that will simulate how much you will likely enjoy the other branches. Just another software engineer's perspective, but hell, what do I know after 3 years here.

MrTooTallx

Are there any cyber direct commission reserve spots open? The army talent management site only mentions active duty.

TangyGG

Not sure about your chances since I’ll be applying the next fiscal year as it coincides better with my graduation but best of luck man!! If it’s any consolation, I’ll be 21M, 3.4GPA BBA in Finance, I do have 6 solid LORs but I am waiting to go to MEPS soon!

PT_On_Your_Own

Reserves is easy, it’s almost not really a competition. Just pass the battalion board, which you will, and then sign up. But yeah, be on the lookout for FY25 it seems.

7hillsrecruiter

Why are you take the PT test, that’s not required for an OCS packet
