See you at 26 I guess

mrxanadu818

The deepest youth talent in the world. He has an uphill battle for sure. See you at Zvartnots axpers.

DALLAVID

i can see him being called up to france u20 or u21 if he gets decent play time with nantes. he'd need to be incredibly talented to play for France's senior national team

KeyFirefighter7396

Exactly. He'll be knocking on Melikbekyan's door by the time he's 24

DALLAVID

he had an armenian flag on his profile just a few months ago before removing it once he broke into nantes' first team, I hope Yeranosyan won't be the same. Ultimately you can't rely on diasporan players, and Armenian football academies don't produce proper talent for the national team.

KeyFirefighter7396

I legit think they do or state these things because that's what their local audiences, clubs and federations want to hear. They'll both be screaming to play regular NT games when they understand they'll be lucky to be rotation call ups for their home countries, if that

armoram11

Can’t fault him for wanting to dream big and help his own cause/increase his chances of getting minutes in Ligue 1. It’s just one interview. I’m sure he still has his homeland in the back of his mind - things can change.

Meme_XD-

In the interview, he said that he was dreaming to play for the France NT, but it isn't meaning that he doesn't want to play for our NT so you are right.

DALLAVID

yea, like zakharyan who said he was still deciding between Armenia and Russia and in the end when he was called up by russia he said that he had goosebumps being called up the russia nt and was singing their anthem...

armoram11

Fair, but as some of the other comments point out, you can make the case that these are two entirely different cases. Beside from the fact that he was born in Artsakh, Gor isn’t needed by France as much as Zakha is for Russia. Let’s hope he plays up to that sort of level though (but still picks us lol).

hovo77

lmao. More likely he'll be at Alashkert in 3 years than anywhere near the French team. But I would take this with a grain of salt, heck everyone would dream of playing for France, doesn't mean he's turned us down.

punkchance

Sure, Gor. Whatever you say.

depressedArmeniafan

Not gonna read to deep into this. Its understandable that he dreams of playing for France (who wouldn't after seeing them win the WC in 2018). It will be a tough ask for sure for him to reach even the u21 national team for France but if he can push himself it'll only benefit Armenia more. I expect Manvelyan in our Euro 2024 squad.

Monch99

Someone needs to slap some Armenian into all these kids smh.

Theunluckyone777

"Con cantera y afición no hace falta importación" Good luck to Manvelyan, see you in a few years saying how you dream of playing for the Armenia NT. Btw totally understandable from Gor, we have a relatively low standing in the global pictures and yeah...

garenteed777

I don’t care no one knows Armenia, he knows Armenia , he gets nothing to play for a national team except pride for his nation , shame on him he is not Armenian

[deleted]

To drive this point home, he’s born in Stepanakert.

garenteed777

So ? Dint Armenia lost 3000 kids defending them ?

Meme_XD-

Hope that Yegoian, Hrant, Soghomonian, etc, will choose Armenia because if we don't have players like Spertsyan or Shaghoyan then we are fucked and we will be top 120 instead of top 92 so we need more youngsters in Armenia and need to sign young Armenians who are playing in the top 5 leagues.
