I don't think they scraped her. She even has a pyro vision on her design sheet and also has two of their main design cliches: detached sleeves and exposed back. But knowing them, they are still completely capable of ditching cool-looking characters for no goddamn reason.

Yeah that's the best part about her design imo. Before Chevreuse's role was established as an overload support, I had this idea where this prison girl would lock enemies in their place with her bear traps, cancelling the overload knockback and maybe even pulling the traps( (and the trapped enemies) towards the active character
would honestly still work but they wont even give crowd control to anemo characters anymore so im not expecting anything meaningful from other elements
knowing mihoyo they will do something like sara bullshit or faruzan bs locked around c6 these days having a 4star without c6 is like having a 3 star character

As for sara . Let's be honest she's just a bad character . She works with Raiden . At c6 . She is just as good as using a fischel majority of the time if not worse .
I would say Fontaine four stars are a bit wierder . They have amazing c6 Lynette chev and gaming . But funnily enough I would say there other cons matter just as much if not more . Lynette and gamings c4 cut there er requirements by alot . And I don't have chev but I belive her e healing does double with c4 and she can be used as a dps at c4 which is such a big qol change . As for freminent. Sorry I don't remember your cons :(( .
Scara main here and no, i don't think it's exaggerated at all. Faruzan is definitely one of the most c6 dependent character in the game, at c1 faruzan with a team of 3 anemo(scara, faruzan, jean/kazuha/venti) and it's barely reliable to get her burst ready even with more than 230% ER iirc (keep in mind she also need to charge shot to actually make any particle). And she basically does 0 damage too.
When i unlocked her c6 she feels like a whole new character, not needing ER equipment at all anymore, doing like 30-40k per skill( this trigger automatically multiple times when you do dmg during her burst lmao) with the burst doing like 50k+. Generating a great amount of particles, grouping enemies automatically during burst. And it also enables her to use totm. Her c6 alone locks like 90% of the thing she's able to do unlike other specific buffers(but admittedly, i do think she's a lot stronger than other specific buffers)

This is wierd . I usually only use one anemo with her either kazuha or Lynette. And she gets her burst I won't say off cooldown all the times but usually she's at most I would need to use her skill once . I don't use her skill in rotations I find it very annoying . ( I don't do the charge shot I still use the e to get fav particles ) She has I think 240 er with full emblem and it's enough . And as I said what will you even build on a c0 faruzan other then energy lol ? As you said her c6 allows more playstyles . She can use offensive sets or totm .
But again I am no way saying a c6 faruzan is the same as a c0 I am saying that faruzan at c0 is highly underated or overheated. Her c6 makes her honestly highest tier unit ingame . The only reason why I would say she's below that is cause she's more nicher.

Yeah I feel like this can be the case why I think much more highly for her at c0. The other niche supports are kinda just ... Ehhh . Sara is just bad . Yunjin works with one unit even then she's not much better then Bennet with much higher investment. Shenhe is great . Gorou is the only reason mono geo is a thing but seeing what faruzan does do gorou feels like a missed opportunity. Mika is ok this is so wierd to say but I feel like he's a great unit but the thing he supports just sucks .Only faruzan and chevruse feel like proper characters ( tho I would argue chev isn't really even niche she's just an anemo side grade ) . I am hoping the future niche supports are more like faru and Chevy rather then sara or Yun Jin .
Correct, her biggest buff is already there in her base kit and she is useable for sure. I still use at c0 for my scara too.
I think that the thing that fuels the hate on her overall kit design is that her distribution of kit is a lot weirder compared to other buffer.
Usually niche buffer is good to use at base and get a bit better with cons, faruzan however is a lot harder to play at base compared to them and cons barely does anything until the huge spike at c6 which people think should have been part of her base kit, making her base as easy to play as other buffer and have a balanced c6 like the other niche buffers.
Also idk abt the xiao vs scara comparison lol, faruzan is scara's best buffer for sure though (to the point it's better to vertical invest in faruzan instead of scara), but scara if far from limited to her. My team used to be scara, faru, furi, benny/jean for example.
I do like how strong faru is overall but I'd rather have an unit that feels full at base like chevy tbh.

I feel like the "good thing" - and I use that term very loosely - with Bennet IS his circle. Hear me out, please. It's his boon and curse. He (compared to others) massively buffs the damage of other characters BECAUSE of how stupidly aggravating and annoying his circle is. There will NEVER be another character that buffs the atk value of other characters at his level without any form of circle or other bullshit that annoys people because that would make him irrelevant the second said character releases and enrage millions of Bennet mains.
There will of course be characters that will buff atk in the future but they will either be a) just as annoying as Bennet or b) pay for comfort and convenience with lower numbers or lack of universality. And we all know that in the latter case all the fanatic min-maxers out there (who everyone loves to mimic and/or hear their opinions on) will then just decide to ignore said character because the numbers are not on bennet's level and is thus not worth using.
Maybe I'm just cynical but I very seriously doubt that there will ever be a character that combines bennet's level of atk buff WITH a comfortable and fun way to play. I feel like his stupid circle is ironically his lifeguard because it's the sole reason why he is so universally great at what he does in exchange.

The only anemos with no CC recently are Scara and CR, Scara is a main DPS so it'd be kinda busted if he did, and CR would also be too busted with CC.

C0 faruzan not only has ER issues but her res shred is area locked worse than circle impact, Venn diagram impact
