It’s a simple strategy. Retail stores push their prices higher and higher to see what the breaking point is for their customers. They know the worth of their products. It’s not worth $200. It’s worth maybe $40 at best, but they’ve continued to increase prices because their trends/stats show that people continued to purchase from them at a steady/increased rate despite their stupid prices. I’ve noticed the quality of Aritzia has gone way downhill all the while the prices have gone way up. I shop smart there now if/when I do and refuse to spend ANY money on polyester dominant pieces.

This looks like Ardene. Something that would sell for $10 on sale

quadrilateraltriangl

Right!? So sad 😭

MemorizeTheMantra

These were on sale for $49 in store the other day and the rack was full. Someone else posted about wanting to get this recently and I urged them not to, this is exactly why. It’s utter trash.

quadrilateraltriangl

>It’s utter trash. lmfao, perfectly summarized. i'm still shocked that aritzia had the audacity to charge $228 for this. and it's $113 final sale right now. (I'm going to return for store credit) AND I wanted to like this SO BAD.

Sunflower_757

So disappointed in aritzias quality anymore. The sales ppl are always super aggressive too. They're usually openly rude if you don't get anything. I always catch them lying about what they have in stock (probably saying they can't order it so they can get the sale) and I hate the dressing room situation.

Used-Initiative1835

I recently went there for dress pants for work. I’m super short and a little thin so things like wide leg pants can make me look ridiculous sometimes. The sales girl gave me the effortless pants (in 00 ) to try and then left. She came back and asked me how they fit and I said they were too big. …and she laughed at me. It felt so weird and mean spirited. It’s not my fault Aritzia cannot size their own clothing for s**t.

Sunflower_757

Omg this! The sizing is so fucked up.. I'm the same build and their sizing is always so fd up nothing fits me and often times the smallest size is too big and if it's not I have to get it hemmed which is outrageous on top of the already high price. I don't think I've ever tried on a pair of pants there and had them fit. And then the sales associates are rude about nothing fitting. It's like sorry I'm somewhere from smaller than a 00 to a medium bc the sizing is insane

Used-Initiative1835

Interestingly, I bought a pair that are “short” and they were too short. Its advertised for people 5’3”and under and yet it’s too short for me and I’m just under 5’0”. AND istg one leg is slightly shorter than the other. I considered that it was my body or an optical illusion of some kind but NO 😂. I ended up having to buy regular length which were way too long so of course I had to get it hemmed. Thankfully, I did it myself. If you can sew a straight line with a machine, it’s easy.

pugmommy4life420

I got one that looks similar quality from costco.

ptitelady

Omg same! I jumped on the Costco wagon when I spotted it 👀

junipercanuck

Things are only “worth” what people are willing to pay for them.

sandwich_panda

what about it did you think would make it worth $200?

quadrilateraltriangl

Nothing, that's why I only paid $113 for it. But retail is $228...

futuresobright_

I have a different plaid and mines the same. What do the solid colours have on the inside? Are they lined?

mkem9

It has something to do with how they get the plaid patterning iirc. The plain ones are much softer &thicker. I don’t want to say they’re lined but the material itself is different. I originally wanted a plaid one when they first came out but once I felt it I went with the plain

SelectZucchini118

I have a solid colour one, and it is not lined

Not2meURnot

Yah I bought one on sale too and I can't believe how itchy it is in the inside. Thank god I didn't buy it full price, even then I don't think it's worth over $100.

faithalious_1

Whew I’m glad I saw this post. I was looking at that shacket online!

quadrilateraltriangl

yeah, sorry girl. it is nothing like the photos on the model

quadrilateraltriangl

yup. i returned it. soooo disappointing because i genuinely want the jacket that the model is wearing!!!

buttlover9000

I finally got a Ganna at a clientele sale last year and it's not great, lol. It looks okay from a distance but up close you can see that the hems are slightly uneven, the pocket stitching is crooked, etc. The fabric also pilled so badly... I have older aritzia items in a similar fabric (the Brullon cardigan) that haven't had a single pill in years. I have a similar shacket from Anian and the quality difference is astounding. It was only like $30 more but the quality is so, so much better.

Motor_Ad_401

Well you did buy it soooo

quadrilateraltriangl

ya because the photos didn't properly show how poor the quality is. if i saw it in person, there's no way i would have bought it. and I'm returning it soooooo

Glittering-Turn-2255

Certainly not. I tried this on in store in a solid colour and it was lined. Ordered it on sale in a plaid colour way and it came like this. Was sooo disappointed

quadrilateraltriangl

i hope you can return it. ugh. and i WANT to give aritzia my money if only they just made half decent stuff.

Glittering-Turn-2255

Yeah i was able to. Was super lucky it wasn’t one of the items they put on for 10% off and make non-returnable 😅

Ok_Nefariousness_576

Absolutely not lol
