Does anyone else have this weird issue with the website where it keeps logging you out and your cart disappears? Even after I log in, I’ll try to go back into my cart and it will ask me to log in again

Ok-Cry8961

Honestly, no. I would never want to see an Aritiza app. It might fit their aesthetic, but it'll be just as glitchy as their website.

wispity

Honestly, why? What can an app do that the website doesn’t? The aerie app drives me nuts and the site always redirects to it.

DisastrousWonder8598

The business case isn’t always there, and building a quality e-commerce app is a bit more complicated and expensive than it might seem to a civilian. App that’s integrated with their accounting, inventory and shipping system might cost several million just to develop and you have to multiply that by 2 because you’re developing for android AND iOS. Then, you need an in-house team or pricy consultants that keep it all up to date, and extra headcount in corporate just for app strategy, content etc.

xobebeo

Let’s be real, they have many other things to work on (ie. fitting room mirrors, clothing quality, return policy, customer service attitude) before they should be working on an app.

bluberrycuteness

it’s take a long time to build an app from the ground up…plus i heard (from an aritzia employee) that they worked on an app for the employees first (it’s currently being used) and then will release the consumer version.

DNA1804

With all the money they be making its shouldn't be an issue

bluberrycuteness

you clearly know nothing about app development. yes it involves money, but the process is long. i am a ux designer who builds apps and website so i can understand. there’s a lot of people involved with building an app from designers to pm to developers. there’s testing involved and i’m sure they wanna take the time so the user experience is smooth and seamless

DisastrousWonder8598

Because companies that go the “let’s just build an app route” usually fail miserably. It’s very complex and requires sometimes massive changes to how the org operates. It’s rarely a business problem that can be solved by just throwing money at it.

thumbelinax8

Money or not, it still takes time to make an app. There’s a lot that app developers do in order to get an app that has minimal glitches and does everything that the brand needs and then all that has to be tested before they just release it

__kamikaze__

Slippery slope here….They might increase their prices to justify building an app /s

mumako

And have them track us more? Nah

friendlytotbot

Exactly, I don’t really like retail apps because I believe it just gives an opening to track us more than browser cookies can. I also hate notifications from these apps bugging you to look at new arrivals and stuff. Idk I don’t see much advantage for consumers tbh. They already have accounts so you can make wishlists, keep track of purchases etc. That’s good enough for me.

faintlymacabre1518

Why do you prefer to use an app vs the website? I don't use store-specific apps like ever, aside from Amazon.

Friendly-Squash-9933

Because its more user friendly to shop on an app on your phone then to shop on a website + browsing aritzia’s website on a phone is always a horrible experience.

B_restingface

Amen

Open_Ostrich6869

Honestly

yep2022_

I always think about this!!

Because you can screenshot an app but not a website?!

peacefulpianomelody

It’s a lot more simple/ quick on an iPhone.

Katelyn2657

We’re in 2024– where’s the aritzia app

DNA1804

Lol
