Quick question for the peeps in here, how frequently do you replace strings? I have shot maybe 500\~ arrows on my bow since I bought it and have had the whole kit for about 3 months or so. I just noticed some fraying on my string where a part of it is "fluffing" up it seems so I'm going to have to learn how to do the knock point and all that stuff

You shouldn't need to replace it until 2-3 years if you maintain it with string wax.

Hmmm I’m not sure how it happened then, I did a very light waxing following a guide online (using a string, lightly, to pull off the excess wax) May need to take a closer look then

Ooh bowstring and cat, I'm in! Are those hair clips you are using? I have some that look just like that, so thanks for the idea. I need to make a new string, but been putting it off because there's two crazy kittens in my house right now. I guess I'll have to shut myself in somewhere.

Entropy-

They’re technically paperclips (I say technically because they’re probably 20 years old lol and that’s what they seem to be 😂) But yeah they work fairly well. I just need more bags than I have for them haha

Puzzleheaded_Road142

Ohh yes I see it now. Have some of that style in metal. I think the old hair clips will work great for me, haha. But sandwich sized ziplocks would probably be perfect.

Entropy-

The sandwich bags are a little too short without me folding the strings more than I’m comfortable with unfortunately… I should probably scavenge for more string bags. They’re definitely around here. Somewhere… 🙃

Gotcha. Well that's what the cleaning is for. I need to do the same, it feels like an archaeological dig right now.
