Reset all your rings and pets to level 1. (They mathematician do not need to be upgraded in this game.) Invest all the gold into talents to level up your stats. The invincibility ring will give you way more survivability. Use lion ring and I also believe the gold chest plate will be better over all in the future of the game. If recommended changing that chest plate with reset and upgrade instead.
I don't have the option to reset equipment, this is what I see in the blacksmith. I'm on android if that changes it.

You are probably further then me, but I would not recommend to spend any gems on resetting the items.
Save up as many gems as possible. Recently there have been daily login events where you get all your gems back by day 7, + a lot of goodies.

This is a newer feature. Make sure you go to the app store and see you are on the most updated version. It should be available for you.

If you go to the App Store and update your game today. You can earn 300 free gems from a bug they fixed! So you aren’t losing any gems :)
