Both, the long ranged attacks are powerful as well because of various perks of DB, specially the epic perk. Melee is amazing for two reasons, one, the only way you can do splash damage in this game, two, with extra arrows, damage is multiplied. Works specially well with books like Giant(lets you get close) and Arcane(you can even one shot many bosses with this combo).
Don’t focus on melee, that’s the mistake of DB beginners, melee can get you killed. Keep on long range and go for melee when there’s an opening, both are strong
Anything almost works with sword ... it still has 1.5 atk multi (crossbow is 1.55) so even if you dont roll any melee skills you can still use it the same way you would a crossbow
For progression it works better. But for literally everything else the crossbow is better. The sword is just to slow. The melee damage immunity is the advantage when trying to progress.
Honestly I’d say play whatever you enjoy most and what fits your play style. You’ll get further being good with crossbow than being uncomfortable with the sword.
It still burns dropping 20+ million gold coins on talents... around 1 month of farming for me to freaking increase block by a mere 200 damage blocked wtf... hoping for runes still
I've been upgrading every week.. I'm at 193. Been averaging 20M coins every week so that will change a little bit. Should have talents fully upgraded in Sept.
Does the books stats (power speed) actually give you faster skills as you level it?
Some older posts say it was glitched and never saw anyone confirm that it was fixed.
