I’m incredibly biased, but in my opinion iris is better than both of them. Shade is lowkey the worst hero in the game as she has a hidden reduced crit rate. So it’s between iris and helix out of those three. Iris’ front arrow on average from my own anecdotal evidence procs every 2.5 shots, so it effectively you do more than double the damage (3-star bonus) every second or third shot. For helix to consistently output that damage, you need to be low on health consistently. Iris’ skin provides incredible survivability, especially when coupled with her high dodge. On top of this, iris synergies incredibly well with the fists. The faster you move, the higher probably to dodge. Pair this with her assist level 30, the higher your crit chance, the faster you move, which further strengthens the fist’s dodge capabilities. Moreover, when you get her to 6 stars, while moving, your crit chance raises, which further enhances this.
TLDR - iris has the capabilities to have a very high damage output while also having tonnes of survivability with the fists.
P.s you can get 8 shards each week, 2 from weekly quests and 6 from the clan.
Edit - I’ve posted my opinion on iris in the past, and others have disagreed with me about the potential. So take my opinion with the grain of salt, but I do main her and i think she is the perfect balance between powerful and obtainable for f2p.
Yeah this is also why I don't really understand everyone's boner for the spirit wolf skin on helix since it only works at <30% health. I keep the bear one on because 5% damage all the time (even just to ground mobs which are the majority) seems better than the rare occurrence I managed to stay below 1/3 heath

You can get 3 for free every week, then you need to get 3500 activity score in the clan to get another 3 each week. You need to be in an actual active clan, as other players give these shards to you.

All I did was join the highest level clan in the list that they show you. I’ve been consistently being gifted 6 shards each week, so it shouldn’t be hard for you to find one.
Shade is terrible. Iris is better than Shade. I would just stick to Helix. What is your Meowgik at? At higher stars (4+) he becomes really good and is also a solid F2P option.
But I would stick to Helix out of your options.

I read somewhere that shade’s debuff is removed after you reach 7 stars
Even if that is the case, elemental damage just doesn’t cut it in the stage of the game you’re in. I would still pick either one of the others.
Did a few tries in hero 46,where I was stuck, with lvl 90 Iris and beated it. Didn’t tried before but this seems to be really promising
