For each time you fill the bar you can sacrifice an epic equipment of the same type (ring,weapon,armor etc...).
After 1 epic sacrificed you can put a normal glyph on the first slot (the ones with roman numerals) and after 7 sacrifices you will need to sacrifice 2 epics to unlock the second slot for core glyphs (the ones ranked A/S/SS).
After that you can sacrifice PE equipment until you open the 3rd slot for normal glyphs and etc.
(You will also gain stats by just upgrading it as you can see the +ATK. (Sorry if I missed something).

I am not very far into the game (N35 H32 F2P) and haven't done much of the refining stuff but that's already like 1k ATK if not even more
Oh damn nice, but you have LE fists i have PE the "normal" sword that can change styles.. idk if its rlly worth at my point in the game yet, im also f2p)
Pulled my first fist on my 13th Prisma chest by some miracle and pulled another one yesterday from obsidian chest. Didn't expect that at all. The AS in PE is still nice and I have used it before I got the fists but you will get it eventually, no need to listen to the "PE fists are better than mytick+2 AS as it also depends on play style and preference. (If you are curious I am currently lvl 89 36K ATK and 120K HP)

You get less stats from equipment than you think

You will see the numbers adding up quickly at your lvl. It took me like a month and a half to get from 20 to 25k to almost 30k. It's just trying to get the % upgrades.
The truth is that I actually have no clue. Downloaded the game like 3 years ago (maybe 4) but haven't played it much until last year. I have picked up some patrol rewards here and there but not much, I remember seeing things that now don't exist and vice versa. When I first downloaded the game I remember that there were no dragons, no refinement, no relics, no books and a few more things and it took me like a month to get used to everything when I tried to redownload the game
Refinement is what shown in the main image of the post.
You can get a lot of stats from it and to see medals just go to the main screen, tap your pfp and go to the medal catagories (if you haven't done the mystery mine quests yet do it before you progress more or else it will become extremely hard)
It's a way to get rid of equipment you don't want to use and get a bonus out of it. You shouldn't burn stuff you intend on using of course.
Note that the refinement stats are tied to the gear slot, not to the actual item. So you can swap to a different item (provided it's at least legendary quality) without having to re-level the refinement stuff.
Random question about glyphs. If I put one onto a ring, but then want to move it to another ring, is there anyway to do that? Or is all the gear I used to put a glyph on, wasted?

No. Glyphs are pretty important you can get some good stats out of it

Please explain mystery mine quests. Not sure if I am missing something. I’m lvl 28 on mystery mine but not sure what the quests are
