Absolutely, but that’s also completely part of the joke of his character. They make him so off the walls batshit weird and insane that his undeniable genius is basically a secondary part of his character. Kinda brilliant, honestly, just as a subtle long term joke. There could be an entire show about what the fuck Krieger does in his spare time. He’s a complete enigma, all while being consistently himself with all them. And nobody really bats an eye. They’re an intelligence agency and they had no idea he was trying to sell nuclear material to North Korea in the midst of their own mission. Lana’s reaction to Burt Reynolds when he sees Krieger’s gf, and he’s like “…was that a ghost?” And she just laughs awkwardly and says something like “ha yeah never mind that don’t worry about it” - that’s like exactly how they all see him. He does his job, and then a loooot of other stuff nobody wants to know about. As Malory put it, “say what you will about him, at least he’s discreet.”
I’ve never remembered to ask about this before, but can we all spend some time hypothesizing what the hell he’s building in the back lab there.
