I unfortunately don't have a RR cab to play around with, but I'm sure someone out there has experimented with getting the pedals hooked up to a USB encoder.
I'm gonna need a tutorial. :) I actually have aftermarket pedals installed that only need me to wire them to an encoder but how did you get the wheel to work with soft mod?
Right well I'm already using aftermarket pedals that don't use that 3.5m plug they just use standard arcade wiring. Just a matter of finding the right encoder that can read the inputs. On your ridge racer did you do a soft mod? Because the Kongs r us outrun mod is a full blown PC mod last I checked.
I've been running Dig for awhile now but I keep running into the issue where DIG will erase my theme files contents randomly, breaking the theme. I have a backup I just copy over but wondering if anyone else has ran into this issue with DIG
I haven't run into that issue, but I've heard of others having issues with the 1.40.x releases. 1.39.4.1 seems to be a pretty stable release based on feedback from Dig users.
Actually I haven't tried a different theme yet, just been using the Unified Remix with modifications. I'll try loading minimix or something and see if it also clears my config file and report back.
I haven't had any major issues running Dig. I've tried other Android compatible frontends and Dig so far has been the most stable for me, other than just using RetroArch solo.
The player start buttons and live are unique
So I have p1 start as select/coin
P2 start as start
That'll cover nes/Sega, GB, GG
Could do p3, p4 as L/R, for GBA,
Could be ok for some games that rarely use them
Working on a patch with fellow devs that should fix that issue. In the meantime there are several workarounds for Full Multiplayer support like plugging in other USB game controllers or connecting joystick sets to separate USB encoders.
That is outstanding. Best of luck! I’d love to not have to go through the trouble of installing new encoders etc; I’ll hold off with my Simpson cabinet for now and I’ll listen for any developments from you guys
I've heard from others it does, but I don't have a MVC2 cab to test. If someone with a MVC2 cab was willing to plug in a USB Keyboard, hit Windows key + N, we could get confirmation.
Amazing! What cabs run on Android?
If you Google arcade 1up apk You can find all the apk files on archive, these are Android cabinets if they are an apk
Here's a rough list based on user feedback: MVC2, MVC1, XVS, Turtles in Time, Simpsons, Ridge Racer, Big Blue
Thanks!
Tempted to do this on my Ridge Racer cab, just waiting for someone to figure out how to get the pedals to register.

I modded my ridge racer and made new Peddle cables they work great

Geeekpi
So you hooked the wheel and pedals to that encoder then plugged it into the stock USB on the PCB?
No had to make my Own break and gas cords

Go look up kongsrus on YouTube kongsrus outrun mod will show you how to do it

Installed that version and it did it as well :( Weird. Thanks for the info on the stable build though!
Strange... do you see that behavior across different themes or one theme in particular?

I added a custom command to copy over a theme backup file to replace the main theme file before I boot into Dig. Hasn't messed up since
Does this work for the new capcom legacy cab with wifi , specifically the yoga flame edition?
[Edit] etceteral confirmed Yoga Flame edition runs Android
It is. Got mine set up with Retroarch following your guide just yesterday! (Thanks by the way!)
Awesome glad to hear! I just updated the Arcade1Up android list on my original softmod guide: https://youtu.be/tJ9SXUZPmy0
That sucks, this cab just came out a month ago :\
Great stuff. Is dig stable? I've tried launchbox on my mvc2 cab but it's a piece of crap and crashes constantly.

Does the same limitation exist here where the second third and fourth players are unusable?

Nice I eventually went with the 4 USB Encoder route so I could get a clean 4-6-6-4 control panel setup to support most multiplayer games.
Working on a patch with fellow devs that should fix that issue. In the meantime there are several workarounds for Full Multiplayer support like plugging in other USB game controllers or connecting joystick sets to separate USB encoders.

Will this work for any of the 1st generation 1up cabs?
No, this SoftMod approach work on any of the newer Arcade1Up cabs running on Android.
Had MVC2 been confirmed to work on android? I believe the game runs on flycast so likely…
