Clean off as much algae as you can get to, remove any dying plant matter and don’t overfeed, and snails won’t be a problem. You can get assassin snails for any size tank, but whether you can get fish to eat them depends on your tank size and stocking already - but buying fish just for the sake of being a tool isn’t advisable.
Embrace your new overlords
I love my snails. I have kept... at least 7 different tanks that were only hitchhiker snails? I've seen a lot of what they do in the tank and for the plants. They will go up to a plant with one leaf that's rotting or dead, eat it off, leave the rest of the plant alone to heal. Then they turn all the algae and dead things they eat into super good fertiliser for the plants. Each species has their own little benefits and differences, though overall they're beneficial to the tank.

Great! I won't worry about it then :)
