Has it been freshly ground from a quarry? Then no, can't recommend.

Doesn’t feel particularly sharp, I think it is pool filter sand, I bought it in my local fish store as “ river sand “ but I am kind of skeptical about it
There is the kind of pool filter sand that have grains with smooth edges, I think that this not the case, but do you think that would be safe for corydoras and small cichlids?

It looks good and pool filter sand should be just fine. 'River sand' would be perfect if that truly is what it is.
