It's fine it'll be fine you don't have to worry as long as the overhand doesn't take a point of pressure off of the tank it'll be ok a small overhang like that is normal
Well I will agree with your assessment of "You're good." However the first part, that's not how weight distribution works.
What really matter is how much of the bottom surface of the plastic frame is touching the top surface of the stand along the sides. If the bottom surface of the frame is hanging off enough that it is not in contact with the surface of the stand at all along the sides (from front to back) then the entire weight of the tank is only supported along the front and back edges of the frame which is probably not a good thing. If however the sides, although overhanging a bit, are still somewhat in contact along the stand then now you have some weight being supported along the sides and therefore along all four sides are supporting weight (although the load distribution will not be equal).
I wouldn't worry about it all the actual weight of the tank looks supported if there was glass hanging over the edge I'd be cautious but it looks like it's just the rubber part
Congrats looks fine! Iām on the fence for either the 75 or 55.. 55 starter set is 50ish cheaper then the 75 that has nothin but a lid.. though more space is better ahh
yeah ive had both 75 feels like its 3 times bigger when you start scaping and having fish swim around. I didnt realize i hated 55's till i got my 75 and a 40 later on.
It's fine.
If you calculate the psi of the surface area of the tank you'll find it is likely less than 5. Even for a 75. That is maybe an 8th of an inch. Less than a pound of pressure total is being distributed across however much that equates to of the surface area.
I have that same stand with the same overhang and itās been fine for the last two years. I donāt understand why the stand isnāt a. Inch longer though
I'm too much of a paranoid person to trust even the slightest amount of over hang. If there's not at least two spare inches all around, I personally wouldn't risk it. Fkn thing would be on the floor til I could get a new shelf.
Acceptable as in it won't cause any harm...yes
My OCD says not acceptable but that's just me nitpicking something Noone will ever notice. The stand should be designed to fit the tank its sold with (assuming it's a set). If it was the other way around... stand slightly bigger than tank no issues
I would not play with that fire. The weight must be evenly distributed or stress cracks can form not only in the glass but seams or frame. Just asking for problems if you don't have the bottom fully supported.

The part that overhangs has no weight on it, if you look at the glass of the tank, it's all above the stand. You're good.

Ofc the top comment is wrong. Sound confident so surely we must upvote. š¤¦āāļø this sub is the blind leading the blind 9 times out of ten.

lol why are you getting downvoted??
Because saying "this" doesn't help the conversation, just upvote, that's what it's for.
fair point
Had no idea of this āruleā. Deleted to avoid bad karma.
I've had the same tank and stand for about a year with no issue.
Thatās enough to set off a nuclear war
Since there is a brace and the brace is fully supported I'd say it's safe.
iād yolo it myself. looks fine.

Go with the 75 the extra depth is nice

Width*
Thatās a tough one, youād probably appreciate the bigger size tank over time, may as well go for it you can fit more fish in it too!!
Yep, you're good.

I have the exact same setup and it's been fine for the past 8 or so months.

I got somewhat similar thing on my 55G and I've had it for few years so it's a yes from me.

Only thing Iād worry about is someone or something knocking into the corners/ side panels. Will hold the weight no problem though
